Not a typical Lowe's that I'm used to seeing down in south Florida! Found it unique while visiting the area that this Lowe's sells clothing! That was a first for me and found it interesting. Overall, basic set up as other Lowe's that I've been to as it's always clean and organized. Sought assistance for an interior door handle and the associate was very helpful and knowledgeable as he was able to answer my questions and even help me locate the product I need! They always have a variety to choose from with different price points to accommodate any budget one may have. read more

They have the nicest people working there. I took my teen son there for some stuff he needed for a new knife making hobby he has started. Jesse and Marcy helped him find what he needed and then also both said to bring his work and show them when he gets some stuff made so they can see it. I had a pretty rough day but they were so nice to my kid it really made the week end on a good note. I hope their supervisors know what great assets they are to the store. And it's not just once, those two employees are always amazing any time I go in there. The others are nice too but Marcy and Jesse make every customer feel like family. read more

Zero accountability, zero customer care -- Lowe's Ellijay is a masterclass in corporate apathy Our microwave died just ahead of Thanksgiving, so we did what most people do -- we went to Lowe's in Ellijay, selected a microwave that was the correct size, paid in full, and scheduled delivery and installation for the following week. Everything was confirmed. Timing mattered, and Lowe's assured us this would not be an issue. On the day of installation, instead of a delivery, we received a call from someone named Nette in "corporate." She informed us -- casually -- that Lowe's did not have our microwave, had no idea when or if we would receive it, and could offer absolutely no solution. She read from a script, provided no answers, and showed zero ownership of the problem. We escalated to a supervisor, Tori, who was somehow worse. Completely indifferent. No urgency. No concern that Lowe's had taken our money for an appliance they could not deliver and could not even locate. At that point, we were essentially being held hostage -- we had paid for a microwave that Lowe's could not provide, with no timeline and no accountability. From there, the experience only deteriorated: * No meaningful help * No proactive communication * No callbacks * No willingness to resolve the issue It took nearly a month of frustration, repeated calls, and wasted time just to get Lowe's to cancel the order -- for an item they never delivered and apparently never had. This experience exposed a deeply broken corporate culture: one of apathy, deflection, and complete disregard for the customer once payment has been collected. No one cared. No one owned the mistake. No one tried to fix it. I will go to great lengths to avoid Lowe's in the future -- not just this store, but the company as a whole. This wasn't a supply issue. It was a people and culture issue, and it deserves attention at the highest corporate level. If you value your time, your money, or basic customer service, think very carefully before doing business with Lowe's. read more

Terrible follow up and customer service. Had a 3 bath remodel project. Met with Ben to get it set up, paid for the installers to come measure. We found products to order for the project but were unable to order them online and they weren't stock. They were working with the store mgr and regional mgr to figure it out. Ben never followed up ot called us after going to the store 3 times for an update. Ended up ordering everything online and one of the sink tops came poorly packaged and broken. We didn't figure that out until the vanity was installed. Took the sink in and customer service was terrible, nothing was done. We won't shop there ever again. read more

We came in today on the hunt for a washer and dryer. We had already gotten up early this morning, gone to Home Depot, and couldn't get anyone to help us so with their limited selection anyway we left and headed toward Lowe's. I was pleasantly surprised to find this Lowe's has quite a good amount of inventory! Gill helped us IMMEDIATELY upon approaching the washer and dryer area. He was so knowledgeable and answered all of our questions without skipping a beat. He stayed with us beginning to end. He also informed us of the next day delivery and installation which was much cheaper than anticipated. I will be driving from Jasper right past Home Depot straight to Lowe's when we need things now! In March 2023, I purchased a Craftsman lawnmower from the Ellijay Lowe's. I used the lawnmower twice; on the second use, a large chunk of the metal housing broke off entirely due to a manufacturing defect in the pot metal, and/or a design defect in the mower itself, because apparently it cannot withstand the normal vibration of the engine running without literally breaking apart. I was extremely lucky to not be critically injured when this happened and given the serious nature of this defect, repairing this mower is not an option--it could never be repaired such that it could be safely used by anyone. Immediately upon discovering this defect (in May 2023), my husband and I attempted to return the mower to Lowe's. The returns desk indicated because it was beyond the 30 day no question return policy related to outdoor gas-powered equipment, "their system would not allow a return" without a Return Authorization number, which had to be obtained directly from the manufacturer--something they required WE do, not them. When a product is returned to the point of sale because it is clearly defective and is within the manufacturer's warranty period as this was, it should NOT be the customer's responsibility to do the customer service desk's job of obtaining a Return Authorization from the manufacturer. Instead, they should have collected whatever information they needed from us, accepted the defective mower, and then proceeded to do their customer service job of working out how to get that mower back to the manufacturer and reconcile their costs (while issuing the customer a credit upon the mower return/collection of the necessary return information). Lowe's refused to do any of this and instead forced my husband and me to spend an hour on hold with Craftsman while in their store (we couldn't leave because they wouldn't accept the mower under any other circumstances and we did not want to have to reload it and then have to bring it back again later if it could have been avoided). Craftsman transferred me repeatedly and ultimately, after literally an hour on hold we gave up trying to reach anyone to give us the information Lowes required of us. At that point, we went back to the returns desk and asked to speak to a manager--because under all the circumstances, the only choice we now had left was going to be to take the defective mower home, go back to our credit card company and dispute the charge. As my husband attempted to explain to the manager that we were just wanting to see if they wanted to try to resolve this any other way before we left their store and proceeded with the chargeback option, the manager (Evan) told us that because my husband started by talking about a chargeback, he wasn't inclined to help us. He seemed to be under the impression that the customer service desk doing their job under these circumstances was some kind of FAVOR to us, and we had lost his good will by talking about a chargeback. In fact, we were trying to do him and his department/Lowes a favor by avoiding the last choice option if at all possible--because obviously it was going to cause Lowes more work in the end than trying to resolve it any other way. A truly horrible customer service experience, but as soon as I explained all this to our credit card company after we reloaded the mower (they wouldn't even help us do that) and returned home, the credit card company promptly refunded our money and from here, Lowe's will have to try to sort this out with them. I expect that's going to be a lot more challenging for them without the defective mower they refused to accept from us. I guess we are stuck with malicious compliance, Lowes--just know we really tried to avoid putting you in this position--but you insisted! Hope it was worth it. read more

I had an awful day, my van broke down in the lot, it was 95 degrees, rain was on the way, the tow truck wasn't coming...but two associates that were working on the floor in the Pro area were so helpful and professional. They took the time to load large items that weren't easy to navigate into the broken down van, they tried to help me diagnose the mechanical troubles and followed up with me while I was waiting for a tow. I was so flustered with stress that I didn't catch their names, but these gentlemen were the highlight of a very stressful day for me and I genuinely appreciate it! read more

They did it again. Truly disappointing. Bought a frig and they get ready to switch it out and rude Ricky says i can't touch the water line to the ice maker because it was a plastic line. You know whats funny....they delivered and hooked up my water the last time i bought a frig from them 10 years ago. I read another review on Reddit about the same Lowes that they wouldn't install the water line because it was copper. Figure that one out. I've had quite a few deliveries from this Lowes, i wrote a review the last time they were here when they ran over my railroad ties and didn't say anything. All you get is an auto-generated reply saying the same thing, we strive blah blah blah. No follow-up. I wonder if I'll get a call for reimbursement of my disposal fee. It will probably be auto-generated. If they can't hook up appliances they should let you know up front so arrangements can be made. And get polite delivery people. Rude. read more

Poorly trained, condescending, snide cashiers are the norm. Trying to file a complaint about poor service cannot be done in writing, per their manager on duty. Don't expect the actual store manager to return a call, been there, tried that, doesn't happen. Worst store and worst company ever. My elderly mother purchased a generator and couldn't return it in the 30 day window because she was in the hospital with a broken back. The manager was a jerk and corporate wasn't much better. They will not even let her exchange it for a more expensive generator that will work for her house. Shameful practices. read more

My husband and I paid in full for a fridge on Sat. They said it would be delivered on Monday between 3-7. Seven come and went, no -show. So I call. "We're sorry but it says it's been delivered (no it hasn't). We can reschedule you for Wednesday between 2-6. Six o'clock comes and goes, no-show. I call again. "We're sry mam but it says they tried to deliver/call you but they couldn't get through the gate. I explain that I have not received any phone calls. As well as, the fact we have an on-duty office manager at the gate, that would have helped them get in if needed. Again (both manager at Ellijay store and delivery warehouse) say, "We're sorry mam but we can reschedule you for Friday." Meanwhile, my husband stayed home from work to get the fridge delivered. Also, the groceries we bought to go in the fridge, did not get to go in the fridge we were supposed to have last Monday. I'm at a loss for words. It was, "Well we can reschedule you and that's all we can do, we've already taken ten percent off, and we can't adjust tomorrow's deliveries to add y'all to it because it's already set." I explained to them, the discount was given to me the FIRST time they messed up but this is the second time. And couldn't understand why they couldn't make this right. This experience has really left a bad taste in my mouth for ever shopping at Lowe's again or even recommending it to anyone. Hope it was worth it Lowes. So sad. Zero stars! read more

We are from Fort Lauderdale, Florida and have a home here in Ellijay. Every time we come to this Lowe's it is always welcoming and people are always there to help us. I was there a couple day ago and a gentleman named Dave helped me a ton- cutting my wood for my steps. Gave me so many helpful tips for my home and also helped me get the best sealer that worked the best for my project. He also helped me bring the wood to my car. After 4 1/2 hours of trying to buy a grill, I am finally out of the living hell it was shopping there. First off almost none of the employees were helpful. I walked in and told them I simply wanted to buy a grill. After 45 minutes after going on the wildest goose chase ever, I decided to just place a to go order (thinking it would be quicker). Contrary to what I thought, it would be another 45 minutes. I went to the customer service (still hopeful) and she had to run a different person down. It took 15 minutes before he came around and told me that the grill I ordered had to still be assembled. I was very confused when he told me that the assemblers went home (keep in mind this was before 4pm). So I was still confused so after walking around in the store aimlessly, I finally found ONE helpful employee. He simply told me to go to the register and tell them what I wanted. I was honestly shocked that no one in the store was smart enough to tell me that. So I went to the register and told her what I wanted. She scroungered around and found another person to get the grill number. After another 20 minutes of waiting I was finally able to checkout. But wait there's more..... so I had a 10% off coupon because I have a Lowe's credit card, and I told the lady, but she wouldn't have it so she just rang it up regularly. I was getting very frustrated around this time and found my coupon and she told me she couldn't fix it so I had to wait in line for returns for 15 minutes (along with other customers who seemed to be in the same boat I was in.) finally after the person in returns managed to mess up the discounts THREE times I was over it. He didn't get it right and I was redirected to another cashier. They were finally was able to check me out. I will NEVER shop at Ellijay Lowe's again. I recommend ACE or Home Depot. SOOOO disappointed... We needed a riding lawnmower very badly so we decided on the S170 John Deere... what a MISSTAKE! It was delivered yesterday the 21st. I drove it today for 1.3 hours cut half my lot and that was all I could get done before the blades stopped worked and the mower will not cut.... You would think that a 3,000.00 lawn mower would last longer than an hour... Called the store manager which was great. he is having this crap picked up on Sunday and refunding my money. My advice is. Lowe's can boast the best onsite inventory of any home improvement store in a five county area. Unfortunately, their staff and customer service seem to feel entitled. Help is simply not available. My last visit (yes - I still shop there) resulted in a 20" search with no employees in sight. Finally I wandered into a section where an employee had a place to sit and asked if the carried a specific item. She didn't bother looking up and replied "No, check at Lowe's.com". Feeling a bit dismissed I called the (smaller) Home Depot in the next county from the aisle where I found the employee. They answered the phone immediately, routed it to the correct employee who walked to the item in question to assure there was stock on hand. I spend an average of $4000 annually in home improvement but Lowe's is my LAST resort. read more

They called the day before to tell us our timeline for delivery of new freezer. We waited from 6:30-9: 00 pm on a Sunday and no one showed or even called? And that it is now 9:00 pm and no one is here. At this point I call dispatch and they put me on hold to contact the driver. Came back to say the freezer has been returned to store and they will not be delivering it tonight, would you like to reschedule for Tuesday? We are disgusted with the flooring and appliance departments at this location. Purchased flooring and after 2.5 weeks still no call from installer. Two trips to flooring department to get installer motivated. We decided to read reviews of the contractor that Lowes contracts with and they were HORRIFIC. Keller Interiors. As a result, order cancelled and flooring returned. Purchased an oven early July and it had to be ordered. Only ONE contractor does ALL installations and he showed up today with stove. We waited a full month. Stove was damaged. Sent back to store. The refrigerator we purchased from Lowes has a defective ice maker and we await service from Frigidaire. Lowes has wasted our time and really does not care. They have lost our business permanently. read more

Suffice it to say, not only do some of the employees have a horrible handle on customer service (though not the customer service ladies in the front - they are gems), management dropped a few balls also. What they don't know is that while that particular order was personal, I also oversee large development jobs. My husband and I purchased cabinets and appliances from Lowe's which Lowes contractors started installing in July of this year. Now in October, after they have sent the same contractor out to our house again and again to fix all of the original issues, we still have a product that cannot be considered as complete. Then there the trim which they tore off and did not fix. We have a cracked cabinet that needs to be replaced, at least one cabinet door that needs to be replaced, a piece of trim over our refrigerator, all the trim above our cabinets and a few other things including a lot of dings, split wood and dents, all of which I have photos for proof. I also have pictures of my basement floor, after they flooded part of my basement because they didn't hook my refrigerator up right, yet they say there is nothing wrong with my basement floor and they will not repair it. I have to ask if this would be acceptable to you if this was your home and your kitchen that you have waited for for 17+ years. What do I do next? We are getting the run around. I can not believe that they are not making this right. Why would they keep sending the same contractor to our home? While remodeling a bath room I purchased a large walk in shower from E.Ellijay LOWES . They did not have the shower door but had to order it to be delivered with in 7 to 10 days .After the shower was installed the door arrived .INCORRECT ! Was not for a shower but for a tub about 24 inches too short . Back to the store . To reorder ,was told could not get the one they had on display. BUT would get one that fit two weeks later still not available . Was offered a very cheap one at cost, but was charged more than the expensive that I had to pay for before it could be ordered . BOTTOM LINE( I WILL NEVER BUY ANY THING FROM LOWES ) I will drive 20 miles to Blue Ridge and BUY FROM HOME DEPOT . I paid Lowes over $7700 to do a bathroom remodel (shower, toilet, floor). I had to pay in advance (only way they do business), and they wanted an open ended contract. I insisted on a completion date. Even so, when the date neared and I called them, they said they were not bound by it. I kept being told "tomorrow" or "next week". My house was torn up over five weeks, they made a mess, did an average job at best, promised me everything but delivered very little. I'll never do business with them again. Be careful, their focus is on new business, not taking care of old. Of course if you already have the customer's money, I guess that makes sense. read more

I have the same issues with delivery of a side by side refrigerator freezer as the first review except my experience was worse. Lowes uses JB Hunt for delivery. They were supposed to deliver Saturday. I had told them to call before coming. They did not come. I called at 6pm. They said they were there at 4pm, but could not get in. If they had called, I could have let them in. So they reschedule for Monday for 11am. Again I call them and tell them to call and not to come after 4pm. At 4:30, I call and a woman tells me they are in TN. They will come in an hour. I call at 6pm. The woman tells me they were here at 4pm. I become furious. I said, you told me they were in TN? And she hung up on me. So then I call Lowes Customer Service. I am hoping that they will deliver tomorrow. And as far as flooring is concerned, my insurance company would not cover the cost of what Lowes was asking. You can get better prices and quality service at Dalton Flooring. read more
