I went to the pickup area, called the number on the sign and no one ever answered, the phone rang until it disconnected. I called 4 times over a half hour. NO answer. Had to do exactly what I didn't want to do and go into the store. Nobody at the pickup desk either. Someone finally showed up and went to the back to get my rather large artificial tree. Rolled it up on a cart and left it to me to deal with. I am a single, older lady. Hence the wanting curbside pickup so I don't have to load it myself. Well, had to load it myself. Wow! I should have looked at the reviews before placing an order! As a DIYer, I've spent over $50,000 between Lowes and Home Depot in the past 7 years. So, I have quite a bit of experience. Recently, I placed two orders with lowes for close to $5,000. Everything ordered was for a siding project at our home. One order was for siding that was not in stock and the 2nd order was for items that were in stock. On the delivery date for the 1st order, after email confirmation of the delivery, the day came and went with no order or call. I called Lowes to learn that they had confusion and it would arrive 2 days later. The 2nd attempt was similar as the 1st attempt, in the confirmation and no-show, except that when I called them before the end of day, their driver said the order was never loaded on his truck. As a DIYer that still has a job, I cannot afford to wait and be so disrespected in their lack the professional courtesy to keep me informed. I cancelled the orders and, 4 days later, still have to notice of refund. Oh, and the store manager or assistant manager hasn't called me back as requested. I will go to Lowes today and get this settled, but when personal commitments are not met, I view this as a lack of character and I prefer to not work with such people. Normally, I would see Marvin Ellison, Lowes CEO, at the Home Delivery World conference in Philly this week as he's been speaking there for the past couple of years. Terrible service. We were in the plumbing section and needed someone to cut some PVC pipes for us, but there was no one around. When I asked for someone to call someone from the plumbing department, she told me "you need to just find someone from plumbing" , offering absolutely no help. When I asked someone else, they said "I'm helping someone else" then walked away. Terrible customer service. My mom and I went to Lowe's last night around 7:45 pm to look at flooring: hardwood, laminate and carpeting. There was plenty to look at and an overwhelming number of options. So Lowe's wasn't short on variety, which is a terrible (but also wonderful) thing for someone as indecisive as me! But it was a fantastic place to go to get some ideas and figure out pricing for the various options. However, their customer service was pretty lacking. I noticed three different employees come through the flooring section and not one of them came by to ask if we needed any assistance. I understand it was later in the evening, but even just checking in is nice. We were browsing and narrowing down options, but it would have been so helpful to get some expert tips, or even the opportunity to ask a question before they darted off somewhere else. They'd come and go in the blink of an eye. I'm sure if we were looking to make a purchase, we would have had help once we asked for it, but I still found it unusual that the employees weren't proactive. Even teeny-bop clothing stores in malls know to be courteous enough to at least greet you hello. When I go into home improvement and hardware stores, I usually look totally lost and confused, so I think I'll stick to Home Depot where they actually can read the panic on my face and offer assistance and helpful hints without me having to chase people down. read more

This review is regarding flooring work completed by Lowes contractors. All contractors are different, and your mileage likely will vary, but my goal here is to show the low level of effort/quality provided by the team we got from Lowes. Lowes contractors from this store installed carpet and laminate in my home. They did a passable job at the carpet. After about 18 months, it has started to puff up in one spot- usually a sign it wasn't stretched enough during the install, I believe. And there were a couple of places where I have found they cut the edges poorly, and then tucked little bits of carpet fluff in the holes to try and hide it. The big disaster was the laminate. They installed the laminate over a concrete slab. After installation, the flooring was not level at all. I know laminate is a floating floor, and does feel different from attached flooring, but I've felt many laminate floors, and this one is messed up. There are many little pockets where the floor "sinks in" where you step on it. If the sub floor was not level, they should have leveled it before putting the laminate down. I tried to make them come out and fix it, and they just sent the same lazy contractor who lifted up a few pieces and wedged crap under it to try and level the floor. It was unsuccessful, and I gave up trying to get them to fix it. If I ever want to sell the house, I'm going to have to have that floor re-done. read more

I found what I needed online, went in and went to where I figured what I needed would be (had the aisle number) couldn't find so I asked an employee and he told me it was at the complete opposite end of the store why is aisle 22 on one side and aisle 26 the other end with every other number in between. Went to the cashier but needed to fill something out so I went to customer service, the employee said I need a form I was like what form I have this card with the information on it, they couldn't use it had to have a special form and not the card I had. Ok no problem but did ask to speak to the manager to see what was needed and where I would get it for future when we may have bigger purchases. The employee at the desk said he was in charge until I asked to speak to a store manager. Store managers don't wear the smock that employees wear I don't know if he thought I was stupid or would just leave. I understand having rules but I didn't like being lied to. In the 30 minutes I was in the store announcements kept requesting help within the store and it seemed like no one was helping, kitchen cabinets was literally called 5 to 6 times, plumbing 3 to 4 a few others 2 or 3 times. Only one to come quickly was the woman at customer pick up I saw her coming back as soon as the announcement. If I had been the customers in cabinets or plumbing I would have left. read more

I would avoid this locations. Customer service is non - existent. There were a number of Lowe's employees milling about customer service but no one willing to go help in the electronics department. So I waited 10 min just for them to ASK someone else to help. First extremely warm day this spring and the garden check was not open - had to go thru the store (which had mostly self check out) to purchase sod and mulch, which was annoying. Now they have a new policy regarding military discounts - where you must register on-line or you cannot obtain the military discount - Do they register the dogs that are all over the store?! - We went to Home Depot and they had the same mulch for Less AND we received the military discount with our valid IDs. read more

I didn't choose to have my delivery from the Lowe's in Sterling. It was a large order, but they back-ordered half the order that they claimed they had in stock, damaged two downspouts in loading the delivery, included multiple incorrect items in the delivery, and I've now been trying to call the store to talk to customer service for 45 minutes to no avail. Literally, nobody picks up the phone. Only reason it's not a Zero Star rating is for the friendly delivery guy (that they contract out to a different company). read more

i went to lowes to get some tub caulk and some window film. the department where the caulk is is not organized. colors not grouped together properly as they should be. the main thing is products on the shelves that have been opened and returned and back on the shelf for resale not having been checked to see if all of the parts are in the package. i bought window film and discovered the package had been opened and no mounting tape included. this is not the first time something like this has happened. i bought car wax to wax my car and it had been opened and returned and re sold to me. i'm sick and tired of going to lowes and being dissapointed every time. i will return the window film and never return to any lowes again. if i could rate negative stars i would give this lowes 4 negative stars!!! read more

They have some big delivery trucks at this store but not sure they know how to use them. I placed an order for some framing lumber and decking material. It was a big order and the driver needed to park at the end of the driveway, and take it off the truck with a lift. That was the plan. Someone from shipping called to say that the driver was heading my way. After 2 hours and no sign of the driver, I called and was told that the driver came by but returned to the yard. I called the shipping department and the manager explained that they have trouble keeping drivers and the regular drive just quit, so they use drivers from different stores. It turned out the driver was unwilling to stop in the road and unload the order. I was surprised when the manager asked, "do you really want the stuff because it's going to take a week to get back there?" With my contractor coming the following day, I went to home depot and they successfully delivered the scary big order. read more

First time I got my confirmation email but when I came to pick it up they searched for 30 minutes to realize they didn't have it. They wanted me to wait while they drove to another store and got it. I told them to call me when the got it and I'd come back. A week later I got the call and again had to wait 30 minutes while the found it. After waiting all afternoon (was suppose to be 2 hour window), and I made 5 calls to Truck Co and 1 to Lowes cust svc- each time driver was unavailable or had a different excuse for why he "may or may not" show up. So , in the end they never showed up and driver decided he wanted to come another day And no one contacted me to let me know. This review is in response to a custom blinds purchase. We needed two custom blinds installed because they were too high for us to reach and install ourselves. Their policy is that in order to install Blinds you have to play $99 for them to come measure. Since we were paying the $99 we had them measure all the blinds in our home. I gave them two stars instead of one because, during the first round, the blinds were installed just fine. They look good and we had no issues. But, as in any situation, true character is revealed in the face of adversity. We needed blinds for a third window. We already had the measurements on file so Pricilla, their blinds associate, ordered the exact same blinds we had before but in the measurements for this window. My husband was able to install these blinds because they were for a window we could reach. He has installed many blinds and it's not rocket science. After removing the old blinds and brackets and installing the new blinds and brackets the blinds were 1 inch too short and did not reach the windowsill. I called Lowes and told them and they sent out someone to remeasure. I don't want this review to get so long you won't read it so I'll spare all the details. But it too many phone calls to get someone out. Lowes had no idea what was going on and I had to start over from scratch with every person. Finally, a guy showed up but it was not the original guy who measured. After my 5 phone calls with various Lowes personell, the installer still didn't understand the purpose of his visit. He re-measured the window and, alas, measured the window at 72 inches, not 71. Then he went on to say that we should have just installed it an inch lower. Excuse me? You mean to tell us there should be a gap between the top of the window and the blinds? Who does that? No one, that's who. So I tell him that I was not satisfied with that answer and he said that they should have sent out the original guy and he should not be "put in the middle." It was so unprofessional. It's a simple thing. Remeasure and then tell the store that yes, it was 1 inch to short. So the store never calls. I finally call them and talk to Pricilla. She says she'd have to talk to her manager and call me back. She never calls. I call back a few days later and she says she didn't return my call because her manager told me not to. What?? So I talked to her manager. He was so unprofessional. He said that Lowes was not responsible because we installed the blinds ourselves. Well, what the hell did I pay them $99 to measure for? They talked to the guy that remeasured and they said we should just lower the blinds by 1 inch. Even though the guy confirmed that the measurement was short by an inch!!! So after I get nowhere with the manager I ask him about my second problem (I had already told him earlier in the convo). The blinds were the perfect width but the valance was too long and didn't fit. I asked him how moving the blinds down one inch would solve that problem. At this point, since we didn't pay them to install the blinds, nothing was their problem. So, needless to say, I will be returning the blinds and repurchasing them elsewhere. read more

After waiting for 15 mins for whomever works in the department to show up I gave up and decided to just purchase the saw I came for and figure out the answers to my questions later. The next adventure was finding a roll cart. I looked around and couldn't find one so I asked a guy that works there and he said they only have two or three and they are probably in the parking lot and walked away. Right. The worst service ever!! I went there to order a storm door. The ONLY one person who could help me was away at lunch at 5.45 PM, and I ended waiting for her for 45 minutes. When she came back she started helping another lady, who was also waiting and whose order they had messed up the first time round. At this point I thought, enough is enough and walked out saying I was going to their competitor. They really couldn't care less. I always enjoy my visits to Lowe's stores. I have purchased paints, wood, stone, tiles, gardening equipment, plants and other household and deck accessories from them and I have always been satisfied with the customer service and their products. To top it off, I during my most recent trip I received an exceptional service that I felt deserved sharing. I am a busy professional and time matters to me. When I went to the store last week, I needed to get a storm door, glass hardware and some paint and I wanted to get it all fast. I went to storm door area and I found an associate working (Jim) on something, but I asked if he could help me with storm door. He immediately stopped what he was doing and assisted me. I knew what I wanted, but I was not sure if the items were in stock. Jim checked for me and bingo! everything was in stock: the door, the glass, the hardware. As Jim was preparing an invoice I told him that I had to get paint. I proceeded to the paint section where I found Ray who assisted me in getting the paint I wanted. As he was preparing one type of paint, I was asking him questions about different paints and techniques of painting of my other project. Ray was patient with me and very informative. He answered all my questions, showed me different paints I could use and he had my paints ready in 15 minutes! Before I was done at the paint counter, Jim pulled up with my storm door, glass and hardware loaded for me on the cart and brought it up to the register for me. I was in and out of the store in 30 minutes with everything that I needed for my two projects. When I had an installer put in the storm door it turned out that due to some mix up I got a different storm door glass than I wanted. I called Lowe's corporate office and I explained the situation. The main office advised me that I needed to speak to Lowe's Sterling store manager and they will have him call me within 24 hours. The very next day, the manager, Armando called me. I explained that I wanted a different glass, but the one I received was already installed. Armando advised me that he would come on his own time after work and would personally exchange the glass for me within a day or two. Last night, as promised, Armando delivered the correct glass and swapped it for me. Now, that's customer service deserving 10 stars! I have a Home Depot within a mile from my house and I went there once for an item that I needed immediately. It was a disappointment and a waste of time. I could not find anyone to help me. I will drive 9 miles to Lowe's not only for the product selection and quality, but definitely for their customer service. read more

Went to buy blinds there for our new house and needed to have them cut to size... First off they destroyed my blinds by not knowing how to work the blind cutting machine, then they told me that they had no more in stock and that they would call me the next day when they arrive.... Ok ok, whatever... A WEEK and a HALF passed and no phone call! So I went in there, and sure enough... They were sitting right there on the shelf.... So, with absolutely no employee within sight, I hit the help button... Rang once...Rang Twice (meanwhile, employees are walking by me looking at me like I have two heads!) This stupid help bell thing rang SIX times before anyone came over to see what I needed, and of course, this guy "didn't work in this department" and the whole entire blinds section staff was on lunch.... What the hell kind of business sends there entire blinds section on lunch at the same time?!?!?! So, a manager comes over, completely clueless...Of course, and say that he can cut the blinds... Ok, finally I can get these things cut and get on out of this hell hole, right? NOPE, so he ends up cutting them wrong and then breaks the machine....Awesome... By this time I say "F" this and go and return everything!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE!!!! Oh yeah, and I bought a propane tank there for my new grill, and sure enough, with the 30 or so tanks they have out front, not one of then has propane in it!!! This store is a joke!!!!! read more

For God sakes please clean all your displays, the doors are caked with dust, the tubs full of dirt and the ladies room was filthy. This is completely unacceptable and a health concern. A couple of months ago we bought a Whirlpool dishwasher from Lowes in Sterling. The model we chose was to be all stainless steel; however what was delivered had a black glass front instead. Okay, we didn't send it back. Recently we noticed the washer would occasionally not finish the wash cycle and soap would remain in the bottom of the unit. This progressively continued to the point that this is now what it does every time we run the wash cycle. We contacted Lowes and received the worst response. We were told that the warranty we had purchased did not cover this(?). We were also told that we probably had caused the failure when we had adjusted the upper wrack (an adjustment that is in the operational manual for this model); however the dishwasher was failing before that. After a bit of a back and forth, the Lowes rep agreed to sending a technician to our hose, but two weeks out, and she stated that we would be responsible for charges. Overall the years, we've bought washers & dryers and are regular Lowes customers for general household items (paints, plants, lawn equipment). We have to rethink that loyalty now. Also question what value a Lowes warranty brings. read more

When I would contact the sales person Brandon he showed disinterest and no concern for what I was saying probably since he already made the close to 20k sale. I called Lowe's corporate and they just transferred me to some call center in Indianapolis. Dustin the contractor of the project was horrible at contact and most of the time dodged my phone calls. Ms. Hensley who is supposedly the district manager did not return any of my calls/voicemails and I was lied to over and over again. You should not make false promises you can not follow through with.
