It's true that LPG is a purveyor of all organic kinds of goods, but the unfortunate fact is that some of it is just priced far too high. And that's even for the members. If you want a "normal" price, you have to pay a membership fee, otherwise you get a non-member price which is naturally higher, and often ridiculous.
Truth be told, the produce section at this store is pretty fantastic. The variety isn't quite as good as Bio Company, but there are some more rare items that can be found here, and I appreciate the quality. The price also aren't generally terrible.
It's just when you move on to the processed stuff - the pastas, the meat substitutes, etc., that the prices get to be too much. Some are on par with the standard elsewhere in town but others are a bit ridiculous. And the problem here is that I don't see LPG selling anything that Bio Company, or Alnatura, or Veganz, or even DM doesn't have.
That said, going out of my way to shop here is just pointless. However, stopping by when I am in the neighborhood to check out fruits and veggies is certainly worth my time. And I would say the bakery is too, if I didn't live about a Beumer & Lutum already... read more
