LPL was handling our Rollover IRA, not our choice. When we decided to move our funds to a different company, LPL said we needed to liquidate the accounts into cash. That was more than 3 weeks ago, the money is sitting idle, and they are unresponsive. Our retirement funds are sitting in their account, and they keep saying it is in process. read more

Hayden Rumfey in the Mississippi office for LDL dba Cadence Financial Services is pure disappointment. Last week I received paperwork to buy stock, same day returned on Thursday via Fedex. Called Friday and was told Hayden would call me Monday. Still waiting. He has not called me back at all and it is now Thursday April 10th. The stock market just rebounded and I would need to pay more now per share. Where has he been all these days? No courtesy call. No email. No update. VERY poor form and will not do business with them. I've been trying to get my 1099-R for a month now to file my taxes. Despite calling multiple times, they keep saying they've mailed it, but I still haven't received it. I don't know where they're sending it, and no customer service rep has been helpful. When I asked if they could email it, they said they can't. The service has been terrible. read more

AVOID AVOID AVOID. Have been trying to get $400 & $4000 out of this horrible company for over a YEAR. I get different stories and forms to fill out from each person I talk to. I have sent in multiple images of 'required' forms that no longer exist there. The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. If the latest call has given me the correct information, I will have seen a Notary THREE TIMES FOR 3 FORMS. Can you imagine? Each time, I pay a fee for that. I wonder just how much I'm going to end up with after the fees I've had to pay. This company is #1 in creating frustration and lack of confidence for me. Only good thing is the scenery, everything else about this place is just atrocious and out of place, nothing is organized, everything is last second request. On top of that anytime someone came down with COVID HR would just disregard it, any issues/complaints you got, this job DOES NOT GIVE AF. I believe the only people that will actually get you somewhere is HR, anyone else will literally disregard you the moment you leave yet they claim they "escalated" the problem. On top of that the building would always somehow be flooding and all the "engineers" would watch meanwhile the actual outside vendor engineers we would bring in would get all the work done. Overall would recommend working here if you're lazy, don't care how you dress or come to work (hungover) and are ready to learn/do nothing all day. I have had investemnt money and an IRA with LPL. The investment account for doing fair. Chis Rand convinced that they good a better job than Fidelity. My IRA stating out with $504,000.00. The most recent statement I received showed in ending balance of $ 549,000.00. In six years it grew $49 thousand dollars. I want LPL in investigate what happened to my retirement money. I want the money repaid to me, with interest. I would like Chris Rand terminated. Someone got rich off of my money, I would like to get to the bottom of this. Had an IRA account surrender and rollover to another IRA to consolidate all my accounts, and was charged ...over $150 in fees to do so, the largest amount I was charged by any group [ the others varied from $0 to $20 for a transfer fee ]. A reasonable fee would be understandable, but this is beyond reasonable. Beware ! read more

My wife and I met with Paul Lim and he was great! We wanted someone to sanity check our financial plans and were clear up front that we were not looking for long term wealth management services. Paul still offered to meet with us Pro Bono. He spent an hour answering all our questions and was very knowledgeable about retirement planning, tax planning and diversification. He had a couple of really impactful suggestions that should set us up nicely. I am very glad to have met him and will definitely look to Paul for future financial planning needs. read more

My accounts used to be with LPL Financial. My broker chose to move to a different financial group. Getting LPL to transfer my assets is taking over 4-5 months. I really don't understand why it is taking so long. When I tried to call LPL Financial, I did not get treated very well on the phone. read more

In 2016 I had an IRA held by and administered by LPL Financial, through my financial advisor. When I went to Florida for the winter, there was a problem with communication. Because I put in place a change of address from Washington DC my normal residence to Florida, LPL put me in "lost contact" status. As a result an IRA distribution payment was made to the California employment development division and reported to the California franchise tax board. My advisor eventually got the address issue straightened out, but in June of this year, I got a notice from the California Franchise Tax Board that I had to prove why I did not owe taxes to California in 2016. When I got the first notice, I had no idea why the CA FTB would be contacting me and I wrote back saying I'm not a California resident and therefore did not owe state taxes to them. A follow up demanded that I send them many pieces of documentation-- my Federal IRS tax return, a copy of my driver's license, a copy of my SS card, and copies of several other pieces of documentation. When I talked to the CA FTB, they demanded that I provide documentation from LPL that a mistake had been made. After several conversations and emails from both me and my financial advisor, LPL has refused to provide the documentation that the CA FTB has demanded. Consequently, the CA FTB will be expecting taxes on income I never earned in California. It's a nightmare and LPL has done nothing to correct the situation. All it would take is a simple letter on LPL letterhead to the CA FTB stating that a tax payment had been made incorrectly and ultimately retracted by LPL and made to the appropriate tax authority, the District of Columbia, where I live. After days of frustration, there is still no resolution. What does it take for a simple letter to be faxed to the CA FTB? I feel like a pawn in a large chess game. read more

My mom was a long standing customer of Becky Ethell when she was with Bates Securities. In 2019, while my mom was still living, she switched to LPL Financial. My mom passed away in December and Becky had never bothered to switch my mothers stuff over. We felt tricked when we thought she was helping us get everything switched over so we could cash it out. Instead she was having it moved over to LPL Financial. After that she told us to look through our moms mail for her statements to see what stuff was worth. We have had to handle everything ourselves. Every time we would call Ameritrade to try and settle the estate, they said they emailed the information to Becky Ethell. Well Becky has not contacted us or done anything to help our process. I hate to see anyone else end up in this position. Trying to settle my moms trust has taken months longer because we are on our own. I pray Becky does not receive a dime of money off of any of this since we have had to figure it all out ourselves. Don't like to complain but do not want to see anyone else end up in this position. My mom would be so disappointed to find out that she trusted this woman and after her passing she dropped the ball. read more
