The water was freezing most of the time to shower, particularly in the morning, so you might want to time it out mid day if possible, tip from a backpacker hostel life traveler room mate. I stayed in a chill coed room for 3 nights where I found to be partially full. It's really a luck of the draw who you might get to sleep next to if they snore or so, fortunately I only had one night of loud snoring and it was reasonable with the free earbuds they offer at the lobby. The lobby and quad areas are super chill like ideal to mingle and meet people to hang with. It was like staying in a camp / college dorm type experience I guess. I found the location to be ideal, easy access to public transportation and underground. I walked / bussed most of the places I went such as Box Park, Brick Lane, Leadenhall Market, etc. I particularly loved all the street art. There's also a 24/7 market I found convenient to purchase groceries from, which I left in the fridge. The kitchen is neat, small, but everyone seemed to be respectful in not eating anyone else's food unless they put in the Share Shelf if left behind by other travelers. Some people also used the kitchen pots and pans to make their meals. There's breakfast offered, decent eggs, toast, oatmeal, juices, coffee. Had I known I probably would've stayed here longer, i would totally stay here again.

There was absolutely no space to stand up or put luggage anywhere. The bathroom was tiny and reminded me of those toilet/shower combos you see in trains or on ships. Also, I paid for wifi but the wifi signal was barely strong enough to get into my room. Also my particular room was on the 2nd floor and below me was a coffee shop. Apparently the coffee shop had it's stereo speakers built into its ceiling and I could hear music through my floor. Not pleasant at all. Only good thing is that the hotel is right next to the Tube so it's fast to travel anywhere in London. It's walking distance to the Parliament as well. In the future, I'd just pay extra for a better hotel or stay in a hostel and be annoyed by young travelers.

We stayed in room 114 and we had a very busy junction outside our window and a bright flashing billboard. So throughout the night the light from the billboard was coming through the crack of the side of the curtains so even though the curtains were blackout ones it did not totally prevent light from beaming in. Also the bed was very hard. However saying this the small room was adequate for a nights stay and was very clean and the staff at this hotel was very welcoming and pleasant.

Now when I checked in the reception puts me in a basement room, with no ventilation (if you open the side tiny window, you will get the smoke from people outside and the room is non-smoking) and she emphatizes how amazing the tub is (mind you I dont even use the tub at home). I had to take 2 big bags down a tiny set of stairs and I almost fell twice. At no time was there a "do you need help". When I finally make down there and I open the room, the room smelled muggy and stuffy, the bed was hardly a double, against a wall, hardly any space to put the bags. There are steps in and out of the bathroom that we didnt see, and I fell. The bathroom had a tub, that when you step in it, you cant lift your arms because they reach the ceiling. You need to shower close to the wall otherwise the water goes everywhere in the bathroom. The sink mirror is so low you need to squat to see your face. The walls had cracks everywhere. The heater is on a timer that you need to go to the office to have them turn on. The expose pipes where rusty and neglected, everything that was supposed to be white were dirty and nasty. They only give you 1 towel per person. The table was so small my kid didnt even fit there to eat because everything else they hotel puts there. I tried to turn off the ceiling light to sleep, but if you turn off the light, the fan turns off as well, so we had to sleep with the lights on. I checked out after the first night, and she was planning on not giving me a receipt, I had to tell her to give me something that stated I checked out that day. Im still trying to request a refund. The receptionist offered me another room, and I told her I was tired of going up and down the stairs with big heavy bags, she went on to say she also had one in the main hall. I told her if that was the case why did she put me on the bottom one to start with. I checked out and left. IMPORTANT: when I checked in I was informed that whenever I left the property I had to leave the room key in the reception, I couldnt take it with me. Sketchy. The air conditioner didnt keep up in our wing (it worked just fine in the other wings). There was literally no air circulation. The windows were sealed shut so they couldnt be opened. We were provided a cheap, but working oscillating desk fan. We werent moved rooms due to "unavailability". The last few days of our stay, the airconditioning came sort of online, which was better than no air circulation. The rooms are TINY. We reserved a double bed room. We were assigned a room with 1 full size bed and a pull out couch. Staff had to bring the bedding for the pullout. We had 3 adult sized people in this room. It wouldnt be a big deal if we werent charged full price for less than full accomodations. The bathroom was clean and okay. The tall people in my group suffered in the short shower, but I had no trouble...LOL. Free breakfast! That motivated my 3 star review. It was local food choices and cooked very well!
