It was a pleasure to come to Shaun Dickens' restaurant and experience the same very high quality of service, food, and style as we had over the previous years. Shaun even emailed me prior to our meal to check on our vegetarian preferences, which I had referenced in my reservation. Nice touch. Walking through the door, we were warmly welcomed, ushered to a window-view table, and provided with pre-dinner amuse-bouches, along with a pre-dinner drinks menu. The wine menu showed a broad range of excellent choices from all over the world, which was refreshing compared to the almost all-California wine menu (as you would expect) in San Francisco. Our appetisers and main courses were things of beauty - almost too well presented to want to spoil. But spoil we did, and the fantastic range of flavours left us sated... but still with some room for dessert. A "happy birthday" message was kindly written on to my wife's dessert plate, and we were given after dinner treats along with an extremely reasonable bill.
