After using my $600 bag for a few months it's fraying inside. The leather looks great but the finish and details are not on par with even the most commercial US brands like Coach. For example my bag came in a cheap dust cover, the lining is a cotton burlap that will easily stain. A comparably priced bag like Voach's Empire would certainly give this one a run for its money. This is a good leather product that doesn't live up to its luxury branding and pricing. I wouldn't buy again at this price point. But it has my initials! And it reminds me of beautiful Firenze. I guess it lives up to what it is: a store for turists!

It was cool watching the artisan cut the leather belt and punch holes in it for them. The school also has some cool history so be sure to read the wall displays when visiting!

He treated me and my husband with the utmost care and professionalism. I learned that Il Perseo is his family's owned business, which has been around for decades. You could certainly see how the quality of the purses, jackets, etc. spoke volumes of the leather's integrity and authenticity of the family's craftmanship. My husband and I stopped by Il Perseo around 2pm on a Saturday, and I instantly gravitated to a small, white leather purse with raffia. It was love at first sight. I thought that the design was unique, and the leather on the purse was soft like butter. The purse was also highly functional. I could convert it from a shoulder bag to a wristlet or a chain crossbody. I browsed around the store and found another purse that I could not steer away from. It was a soft green-like sage color with a deep red liner. The unique design of the purse, the extra pockets, and pops of color were what got me again. Similarly I could convert the purse from a shoulder bag to a crossbody. Sam also helped me and my husband choose the right leather jackets that aligned with our personal styles. Since he was also a tailor by trade, he offered to customize my husband's leather jacket to fit his torso and build. What I appreciated about the experience of buying a jacket with Sam was that he didn't try to push us on a sale at all. I personally went home with 2 purses and a jacket, and the prices were very reasonable for everything. I would highly recommend Il Perseo Leather, and go see Sam!

Don't compare flea market to custom. They have hand stitched ties in this shop that will out-live you! They also sell scarves, wallets and purses that can be custom ordered at no extra cost. You want a neon green wallet with a gray interior because the Seahawks made it to the Super Bowl again? Done! You will not find another quality leather shop like this in Florence, which is why they have three locations! Check the website. I even managed to get a ton of sightseeing advice while shopping! I randomly stumbled across Adam Leather Factory walking home, and like many foreigners seeing…read morehundreds of leather shops all looking the same in Florence, I was really hesitant to walk in as it seemed like just another one of the shops run by non-Italians who are more geared towards lower quality items and tourists who don't know better selling at higher prices. Boy, was I wrong. Very wrong. The moment I stepped in, to the left I saw gentleman who had several leather strips out on a ladle and was hand-sewing a wallet for a customer at the counter. I was immediately greeted with an extremely warm smile and voice by Mickael who was just an absolute gem to talk to and chat with, and helped me find the right item for my Dad. Mickael before stepping out then let Mozzi know about what I was looking for and how they could work with me, and I had so much fun talking with Mozzi in my broken Italian that we chatted and laughed together for over AN HOUR together in his shop! In the meantime I saw just how kind he was to all the various customers all over the world who came into his shop working with them and making them feel extremely comfortable from the second they walked in. Mozzi even customized the lettering of a wallet with a specific idea I had in mind, and I saw all the amazing beautiful custom work he's done and proudly owns as well, like a one-of-one Macbook Pro Leather Satchel Messenger Bag that was just a work of art, or leather air-pod cases he made that were just brilliant - brilliant. His work needs to be seen by more people around the world. At the end of our hour chatting together and just having a blast talking and learning from one another, Mozzi gave me an excellent price on the items I was interested in, and just made my entire week being a class-A gentleman who TRULY cares about his work and being creative and passionate and being a step above everyone else.
