I love Lucky Road! All of the shops know their stuff and have a great selection. I love how they sponsor a lot of the local races which makes me want to support them even more so, especially the one in Willow Lawn. Popped into this store on a whim at the recommendation of a Dick's sales associate when I mentioned shopping for new running shoes. I had my dog with me and Lucky Road was more than OK with her coming in. Two staff were working, a gentleman and a woman (Kat). Kat was so friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They have reasonably priced apparel as well such as tanks for $30 and shirts for $40. If you're an avid runner (or looking to get into it), this is the perfect store for you! read more

We weren't prepared for the excellent service we received these past two visits. Swiftly, upon entering the store, an employee greeted us and asked what we needed. In mere moments, these employees surrounded us with 4 or 5 different pairs of running shoes to try on. The kind people at Lucky Road even gave us an education as we tried on our shoes. They showed us how to lace the shoes properly for the right fit. After lacing up, we walked down a hallway to check our stride and gait with these new shoes. After comparing these pairs of shoes, it was easy to make our choice. All the while, the helpful employees guided us through the process. The shoes were a variety of price points. We believe we get what we pay for, so we were happy to select Hoka shoes. They really stand the test of time. Upon reaching the register, we signed up for rewards. They told us that we had 47 days to return the shoes, but we weren't concerned about that. On a tennis shoe "hunt" for my husband's upcoming birthday. My husband loves the Hoka brand. We went to two big box stores, where the service was minimum and the shoe selection was not great. While looking around, my husband wanted his feet sized and not a single employee knew how to use the Brannock foot measuring device they have laying around in their store. What's the point of having the device if no one knows how to use the darn thing? We weren't getting far in our search and becoming restless searching, we decided to leave the big box location. While leaving the big box brand store, I came across a few Google reviews for Lucky Road Run Shop at Willow Lawn. I convinced my husband to try one more spot, and I'm glad he did! When we entered Luck Road Run Shop, we were greeted by more than one Lucky Road employee and assisted immediately. Desiree and Jeff were very helpful and informative in our shoe selection process. The customer service they provided was impeccable. While assisting us, Desiree was in the process of training a new employee, and the patience and care she had for her employee (who is also a customer of their establishment prior to being hired) really showed she cares about making sure their new-hires are properly trained. Desiree even convinced my husband who is an avid Hoka brand supporter to try a different shoe brand, Brooks, based on the foot support he needed. They fitted him properly for a shoe, and my husband is very satisfied with his purrchase. I believe we received a great value for the service and product provided. My husband told me as we left the store, we will purchase our tennis shoes from Lucky Road Run Shop for the following reasons: "family owned-business, quality customer service, value for product and selection, loyalty reward system, and they know how to use the damn Brannock foot measuirng device." :) Oh I forgot to mention, I got a pair tennis shoes for myself during the process. I never leave reviews, but working with Levi was nothing short of amazing, so I feel compelled to give this place its kudos. Walked in for my teenage daughter and I had no idea what to expect. We were looking for a really good running shoe because she has experienced shin splits and several other injuries during her track season. Not only did Levi assess her needs and present a shoe that got this finicky teenager excited about something. But we bonded over the pink ribbon that was the highlight of the shoe. I recently acquired a pair of shoes here. They had to be special ordered , hoping to receive them in time to give as a gift . They arrived at the Fredericksburg store and the owner sent her son up to get them for me to have the next day. Then the shoes were too big. The store reordered a smaller size and we had them fast shipped. Blake was so helpful and patient with it all. I truly love this place. If you are just starting to get into running or really need some good running shoes this is the place to go. I have already purchased 2 pairs of shoes with them. The second time I bought some Brook shoes and I went back to the store because I wasn't sure if they were the right pair for me. The people at the store seriously took their time to help me out and settle any doubts I had. They have this awesome "45 happiness policy", which basically says that if you aren't happy with the shoe you can bring it back and get fitted again. Highly recommend this place. read more

This place is fantastic. All the employees are RUNNERS and SO knowledgable! They watched me run in all the shoes I tried on and helped me find the perfect pair for my running gait. Very personable, attentive, and helpful! You will NEVER get this level of care, attention, or knowledge somewhere like Dicks! I am sold. Oh AND they have a 47 day "happy customer" policy if your shoes don't pan out. What more could you ask for?? Driving south on 95 heading for a few days vacation, when I had to make an emergency stop here because I realized I forgot to pack my running shoes. The lady who helped me was wonderful. Unfortunately they did not have my size in my usual shoe, so she brought out few similar style shoes in my brand. I was excited to hear that Lucky Foot was coming to Richmond! I went into the Willow Lawn location in early Feb looking for the latest version of Asics Gel Nimbus 17. I knew I needed a bigger size than I had previously run distance in but they had nothing larger than a 10. The sales person offered to order them for me in a 10.5 and 11 so that I could determine which would work for me. I left all my information and watched as the young man accurately recorded in the order book what I had requested. A week went by and I heard nothing. I contacted the store and was told they were not in yet. Another week went by, I called again. This time I was informed that the shoe I wanted wasn't available until March 1st. I waited until after March 1st and went into the store, I was told they were having some problems with the shipments. OK! So I wait another week and I go in again... no shipment. Finally the third week of March (as I was tired of waiting) I went to Road Runners on Cary Street. Mind you this was a Saturday. They ordered the shoes for me as I stood there and Wednesday (that's right, 4 days later) I received a call from Road Runners telling me my shoes were in. On the same day I received voice message from Lucky Foot telling me some story about a strike at Asics and that that is why my shoes were not in. Riiiight! I got my shoes from Road Runners but I continued to have contact with Lucky Foot regarding the pair I had ordered through them. They were yellow by the way and that's what was written in the order book too. (see above) This past Wednesday, March 25th I received another message from Lucky Foot advising that my shoes were in! Both the 10.5 and 11 and they would be there for me when I was ready. I called them back the same day and assured them that I do want the shoes but most likely couldn't get there until Saturday. Today, March 27th, I get another message from Lucky Foot saying that they saw I ordered some shoes but weren't sure if I was squared away, so if I still want the shoes I should call them back. REALLY!!!! I called back. I told the young lady that I had just spoken to someone two days ago and advised her of our conversation and that the shoes both the 10.5 and 11 were to be on hold for me. She seemed to understand. I decided I'd best go pick them up tonight. Guess what? They only 10.5 AND in the wrong color. The man that "helped" me, advised that he is responsible the ordering and then hurried off to the back. He came back out telling me that the only thing he could come up with (I guess he was back there trying to come up with something??) was that this was a limited edition color and was only available in Feb. I ordered the limited (NOT) edition color online this evening and will have them in 4 to 7 business days which is less than I spent on gas and time with Lucky (not so much) Foot. I would not recommend these people to anyone. The sales people are VERY nice but unfortunately there is a complete breakdown of communication in this store. Not to mention I feel like I was lied to at least twice (see strike story and limited edition story). If you need shoes save your time and go to Road Runners!! read more
