There is something magical about Nando's. I'm sure my attitude towards them has a lot to do with my…read moreinfinite love for good chicken. In fact, I must say that if anyone LOVES chicken, happen to be in the area (or short drive/commute away), and have some cash to dispose of, they should just visit this place and order a whole chicken and whatever side you fancy to yourself. You have to understand that I didn't understand what was going on in the van filled with the amazing family that picked us up from the station. I had no clue what the mysterious cues they were giving each other. They were literally speaking in tongues as far as my ears were concerned. But I recall that one word was tossed about..."Nando's". My lady missed this place. They all knew it. I freaking LOVE good chicken. They also knew that. So it wasn't a surprise then that this was the first place we decided to stop for a meal after arriving at Norwich from Heathrow. We wanted good food. We freaking wanted chicken. Old school flame grilled CHICKEN. Was the chicken MAGICAL? Yeah, it was pretty freaking phenomenal. The sauces definitely took the whole experience over the top. One piece chicken...five million dabs of sauce. One dab of sauce...one whole darn chicken. YOUR choice! Either or...it comes out freaking pleasant. Okay, before people start thinking I'm crazy or I'm paid to do this...well, I'm neither. I just love chicken and this place makes me content. Chicken-lovers...this place is a MUST! NOTE: My friend compared this to Pollo Loco. I...corrected him. Please don't ever compare this place to Pollo Loco. It's like comparing caviar to salmon roe. it will never come close!

Nandos is one of my absolute favorite spots. Great environment, amazing food, quick and friendly…read moreservice and always on point. You just can't go wrong. The chicken is amazing, the African peri peri sauces they provide can please any taste bud. Spicy, mild, garlic, wild herb, you name it- they got it. The African/Portuguese influence is amazing not only in the food but the wine selection and the music they always play is so great. I went to college in DC so that's where I discovered Nandos, no matter where I am in the world if there's a Nandos- IM GOING!!! (I may have eaten the food before getting a photo ) Mandy was amazing and made it even more worth the visit!

This location opened just over a year ago in a city one might least expect. But, as Norwich has…read morebecome a growing international and university town, I suppose it only made sense for the franchise to expand to this part of England--the other closest location is an hour away in Cambridge (which I will provide a similar review to after this). Prime real estate was secured as you can't miss the big, bold sign on the high street near the Blue Line bus stops. It's also probably the only place in this region where you'll see the Union Jack and Stars and Stripes flying together other than an embassy. It's important for me to distinguish between experiences in different countries. Back in the US, particularly in my home state of California, the plethora of what I believe to be more superior burger options always puts Five Guys on the back burner as an afterthought. That being said, with the absence of these options in a medium-sized British city coupled with occasional cravings for a good ol' American style cheeseburger, Five Guys is the closest one would ever get to satisfying that hunger. And they always pull through, here at least. After making FG a monthly habit and then trying it again at a US location, I can only say that somehow FG tastes so much better in the UK. The burgers are cooked better (they even make their bacon right with the perfect crisp) and though opting to have it "All the Way" with the core toppings makes it a little messy, the efficient assembly line and foil-wrapped product to keep it all together has never failed me, particularly in Norwich. My usual is the Little Bacon Cheeseburger and either a Little or Regular Cajun Fries (seasoning sometimes on the side) depending on whether I'm sharing. When I speak to my local friends about the menu, I bring up the Bacon Milkshake option (bits of streaky bacon mixed in). They always look at me with disgust, but hopefully people will eventually come 'round to the idea. As far as service goes, with everything made to order, there will always be a slight wait. On my first visit, my order was mistaken, leading to the manager genuinely apologising for the delay and offering a swift refund and replacement. If I ask for a side of BBQ sauce (theirs has a little more zing to it), no one ever bats an eye. Also, add FG to the limited list of late-night eats; it's the only place open late in town that isn't a pub. It gets busy but seats are aplenty on both levels and the space is always kept tidy by the staff.

I refused this as I felt this was way too much of a deposit to pay.He then started on a diatribe about how every restuarant would askfor the same deposit at such short notice. Rubbish!! I booked another resturant who did not ask for a deposit and sent me e mailconfirmation of my booking. Get your act together!

Hidden in the middle of this plethora of Indian and Bangladeshi foods is Nazma. With its neon lighting and curtained window, it looks quite classy. And that's confirmed when you enter - white tablecloths and an attentive maître d' who will get you seated and even pull out the table for easier entry. The menu is quite wide with a variety of curry dishes with the super hot Vindaloo and the classic Madras, Kurma and Dupiaza. Starters include Aloo Chat (spiced potato), Chicken Chat (spicy chicken) and Onion Bhaji (spiced onion pieces, shaped with flour, rolled and then fried). Since I'm on a low-carb eating regime, I started with the Chicken Tikka (spiced and oven baked) which came with a salad on the side. Very delicious, just the right temperature and spiciness. My friend had the Chicken Pakora (spiced, battered and fried). He said it was not too greasy and very flavorful. For mains, I decided to order from the House Specials list. Murgh Massala is minced lamb and tandoori chicken. I also had a dish of Aloo Gobi (potato and cauliflower), picking just the bits of cauliflower. When the Massala was set down, I was concerned because it smelled very spicy, but after I started to dig in, the subtle flavors of the chicken and lamb melted on my tongue. Delicious. It was so good that I have no idea what my friend had for his mains. We were well stuffed, so skipped out on the desserts (chocolates and ice creams, etc). The pint glass of Kingfisher was nicely poured and served in a proper logo'ed glass. I assume they also have Cobra and Mongoose. Tip: Indian food is easy to splash and drip. It's also quite oily, so when you end up wearing some of it, it's going to stay a while. Either tuck your napkin in like a bib or wear something that hides spills! Nazma was very good food and I would absolutely return!
