There was a new waitress working, a lady with blonde highlights, and from the moment she approached our table, her attitude toward us was hostile and disrespectful. We also noticed that she was friendly and welcoming with every other table except for ours. The way we were treated felt targeted, inappropriate, and honestly racist. Her tone, body language, and overall behavior toward our family were unacceptable and made us feel completely unwelcome. Sadly, this no longer feels like a pleasant restaurant for the Black community, and that realization is deeply upsetting given how long we have supported this establishment. We walked into this Mexican restaurant ready to eat and left without ordering a single thing…read morebecause of how openly racist and hostile the staff were toward Black customers. From the start, we were stared at and spoken to with obvious attitude. The final straw was when one of us tried to order a drink and slightly mispronounced the name. Instead of politely correcting it like a normal, respectful server would, the staff laughed, repeated it back in a mocking tone, and made jokes to each other about it. It was humiliating and completely unnecessary. What made it worse was that this behavior clearly wasn't happening to other customers. The difference in treatment was obvious, intentional, and disgusting. No one tried to apologize or fix the situation--if anything, they seemed amused by it. We didn't feel welcome, respected, or safe staying there, so we left before ordering. No food is worth being disrespected over, especially for something as small as mispronouncing a drink name. Not knowing I'm Creole not Spanish. If you're Black or care about basic human decency, I'd strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere. Racism has no place in any restaurant, and this place clearly hasn't gotten that message.
