Oh, what a beautiful and spacious area - I only wish that we had more time to spend at Olympiapark…read moreto see more of it. We had enjoyed a museumm across the street and decided to walk across it to Olympiapark and take a look, because the idea of walking around a place where the Olympics occurred sounded wonderful. We were trying to do as much as we could in Munich with the little time we had. We were not disappointed in what we saw - only that we didn't have time to see all of it! There was an event going on, so the place was very lively. Lots of people, at first. But as you walked through, the people lessened, and it got quieter. There were a lot of runners/joggers - and I could imagine that this is a phenomenal place to do that. I also imagine that this park would be absolutely great for picnics when the weather is nicer. I would definitely return and see more as I know that there is so much more Olympiapark has to offer.

The stadium tours were off for the week due to Metallica concerts but it was cool that we got to listen to them warm up. You could hear them all over the park. Enjoyed seeing so many of the Olympic spaces like the pool and arena. Great place for an afternoon.

If you wanna do some serious rowing/kayaking this is the place to be…read more It's the regatta field built for Munich's Olympic Games and it's still up and running. What I like about this artificial basin is that the water is crystal clear and you may as well swim in it if nobody is doing sports (although officially forbidden, you know German's love for regulations). The basin sides offers endless space for picnics and there's even a beach bar mixing up drinks and beach volley courts. It's a great (and not overcrowded) place for a day out, not only if you're into water sports.

It's beautiful in here and you can walk for hours on end in quiet peaceful forest. It's also not well known so not that many people about. We were here on Labour day holiday and there was no more than 50-100 people in the area walking or cycling. We had the forests almost all to ourselves. There are multiple lakes in the area and also a few stops for meals and drinks along the way. A beautiful part of the country so close to Munich and far less people than going to places near the alps. I will definitely come here again. It's reachable by S Bahn and not too far from the town center of Ebersberg where the train comes into. If you like tall wooded forest you will like it here. It's so quiet and peaceful as you walk through the forest.
