Amazing vibe- there's a DJ spinning vinyls at the corner of the bar which is pretty cool. The drinks are delicious too! We ordered the boozy dole whip and it tasted exactly like a pineapple dole whip. It's also decently strong with the rum. Not a dance-y bar but a great bar to sit and talk with your friends or strangers. read more

Visited Lullaby, on the LES, on a Friday evening around 10:30-11pm. It was pretty crowded, but we were able to get two seats at the bar. It's located on Rivington with a staircase down to a basement-level space, and you could easily walk by if you're not looking for it. The venue is cozy, with the bar taking up a lot of the space, a few tables toward the front, and several cozy two-tops along the side. When we walked in, it was a good vibe, fun music (not too loud), a lively crowd enjoying themselves. There was also a DJ setup. Once we were seated, the servers were attentive and quickly brought us water and menus. The cocktail list includes both signature and seasonal options, ranging from $16-$20, plus bottle service (Lambrusco and Champagne). I ordered The Mezcal Drink No. 2 (tequila, mezcal, passion fruit, and green chile). It was excellent, served chilled without ice in a smaller glass, incredibly flavorful, and quite intense. Very much a cocktail meant to be sipped and savored. I would absolutely come back to try more drinks and enjoy the vibe and music, and I am curious to see what it feels like on a weeknight as well. Take a trip down a few stairs, get greeted by a lovely neon sign, and enter a moody oasis with a sassy, sensual temperament. Lullaby can do everything but put you to sleep. A bit sexy, but still ready for the party the interior has bar seating, but plenty of standing room and you better believe this place can hold a little party. Bar tender was awesome. Happy to chat and serve up some absolute heat. The cocktails were fun, inventive, and a whirlwind of flavor. I got a coconut, lime drink that delicately balanced tart and citrusy with creamy and sweet. Almost like if a tiki cocktail were to be tamed its classic elders. Came here with some friends and the vibes were great. Staff would frequently sage the place, which was nice I think. The cocktails are very nice and creative, definitely expensive. Nice bartenders. They were more or less on top of cleanup, new drinks, and the bill. Delicious drinks (highly recommend the dole whip). Nice, small space with a nice vibe. I wish there was a bit more light--If you have to use your phone or the table candle to see, it's a bit too dark to read a menu. Also, the music got louder as the night went on. Personally, I dislike loud bars, but that's just me. Also, there are no snack/food options. Again, it may just be me, but when serving alcohol, I think some sort of food on the menu is necessary. All this aside, highly recommend. read more

Stumbled upon this place after getting turned away at a speakeasy down the street. But so happy we did because this ended up being our favorite bar the whole trip. They have seating at the bar and around the place + a bathroom. My husband and I shared three drinks. The menu is interesting in the sense that it describes the drinks based on their flavor profile rather than giving you the list of ingredients. All the drinks we had were great and the bartender was very nice and informative. Would recommend this place! read more

This used to be Nightcap! The vibe is very different. It seems very laidback, chill and run by men while Nightcap was fun, pretty and had a very feminine appeal. The bar wasn't busy on a Saturday evening. I think most of the college students are not back on campus and a lot of the NYC residents are gone on the weekends. I had the pandan express which was very good. My friend enjoyed her champagne service but found the mezcal drink too floral. This is a chill bar to add to your list of LES bars when you're in the neighborhood. I'm not sure if it's a place to go out of your way to come to though. read more

Went here for the first time, got some PERFECT drink suggestions from one of their barbacks, Gabby(ask for HER if you're unsure what to get off the menu, she'll steer you in the right direction every time). The Mezcal Drink no.2 and the Dirty Chai are both 10/10. read more

A nice spot to grab drinks with friends or a date! The place is very dark - it took us some time for our eyes to adjust to the darkness before we could even see eachother. We got lucky and sat at a booth in the back since we had made a reservation. Cocktails are good, above average and the server/bartender was incredibly kind and offered us drinks to celebrate a birthday. I think I would come back but it really was pitch black so perhaps would be better to have more lighting lol. read more

The drinks are good. The service not so much. Me and my friends felt slighted for being tourists, maybe. We ordered drinks, after 5 minutes a group of 4 people arrived. The bartender gave preference to these people, made their drinks first and left us waiting for about 20 minutes. He only made our drink because I asked if he had forgotten about us. When we went to pay, the bartender had already selected the tip option, thinking that we (being tourists) wouldn't leave it. read more

When I use to live in LES, this would be one of my favorite speakeasy in the area! It's very small and intimate. The bartenders are friendly and the vibes are immaculate. My favorite thing to order is the boozy dole whip! It's like you get to experience adult version of Disney world in nyc. read more

I went to Lullaby last night at about 7-8ish. When you walk in there is a calm atmosphere about the place. The music is low, people are seated nicely, having a drink or two. This place is extremely easy going before your crazy night of fun. Come after 9, more people arrive, so the music gets x3 louder and unfortunately it kind of gets unbearable because you can't hear the person next to you. Because this place is literally a cave and there are seating throughout I feel like the loud music is not necessary since there is no dance floor. People are here to enjoy their company, not dance and yell. When people can't hear the person next to you, it's irritating. Another thing was we moved a table close to our seating area since we had no table and no where to put our drinks. The party who was sitting next to us left, so we didn't have to ask anyone if it was okay. Then, an hour later, a woman pulls the table to the other side of another party which has all of our drinks on the table and scolds us for moving the table. So now, we have to inconveniently take our drinks from the table which she now moved to the other side. After half an hour of this, we decided to ditch the place and go to another bar. This is a dark, basement speakeasy with chill vibes and seating throughout. I tried The Dole Whip, which was actually quite delicious. The alcohol in it is quite strong, but the soft serve mixes with it well. It felt like the drink was half mint, which was disappointing considering the drink was almost $20, but I didn't regret trying it! This is a nice place with lots of ambiance to catch up with some friends. read more

This is the bar I will be coming back to whenever I visit NY. I loved everything about this place from the ambiance to the drinks to the bartenders. The place is relatively small and intimate. Good for taking a date or catching up with close friends. The bar menu had some solid craft cocktails that were fairly unique. The bartenders seem to know what they were doing too which was reassuring. It seems like this place can get busy as the night goes on, I came around late evening, but left as more folks started to pour in. Make sure to keep an eye out, this place can be a bit tricky to spot. read more

The drinks were all interesting and good, the whiskey drink was my favorite, a really nice savory experience which I appreciated. Service was good/quick even when it was packed. It was very very dark and the music got progressively louder until we could not hear each other at all, so we had to end up leaving relatively early, but I still think this would be a great place for a weekday drink/date! read more

I really loved my visit to lullaby, walking in to the cool basement was a welcome relief with the humidity. It started off quiet and romantic and had a natural build to become a lively cool nightlife vibe so it's the perfect place to start off a date. The cocktails are creative and phenomenal. I had the dole whip and the whiskey drink. The whiskey drink is made with a creamy corn that was so tasty and unexpected. Cute dive bar on the east side. I've been twice - once on a Monday at 6pm for a date, and it was pretty empty and quiet; and once on a Tuesday around 9pm with a friend, and it was a bit more busy. The ambiance is nice. I got the pineapple dole whip float - they have it alchoholic and non alcoholic. The bartenders were nice. read more

The martini was kick-ass and our waiter was kind enough to offer us many recommendations. We landed on Charbroiled Oysters, Steak Tartare, and French Onion Dip. Someone slap me, I'm drooling while I write this review over a year later. Seriously, phenomenal. Every bite was amazing! As for food, there were some true hits but most of the food was good but basic. The highlights for me were the wild mushrooms & rice cakes as well as the Caesar salad - loved the use of nori in the salad and would definitely come back for the mushrooms. The chicken cutlet and chicken dumplings were fine but I probably wouldn't order them again. The wait staff weren't super attentive nor super warm, but they were efficient when we asked for water refills, etc. There was ample standing room at the bar while we waited for our friends, but the table/booth that we sat at was super narrow, I was knocking knees with my friend all night and generally felt squished.

The host told us that we only have 30mins for drinking. We ordered the drinks and I think I only got 15mins to drink and the host came to remind us at 9:38pm. I can't believe I only had this less time to drink. The drinks are innovative and interesting. I think I will give it a try again into the future. Maybe they are just too busy...

We had a great time at Serpentine for post-dinner drinks recently. I already had it mind when we…read morewalked by on our way to dinner and even at around 8:30 (on a Saturday) it was already busy. Not surprising, then, that it was pretty packed by the time we finished dinner, at 10:30ish. Serptentine has a solid cocktail list, one that definitely reflects the West Village sensibility. The drinks are all clear variations of classics (ie., martini, negroni, espresso martini, margarita, old fashioned, etc.) but with some added intrigue. All well-executed and made efficiently, which is very impressive during weekend primetime. If you're not nearby I wouldn't make a trip to the area just for Serpentine, but it's a fantastic option if you live/work in the neighborhood and/or are getting a meal in the area and are looking for a bar to start or end at. As I mentioned, it was relatively busy when we arrived here. There weren't any open seats initially but the host said we could hang around the bar for a bit, as he expected a table to open soon. It was probably 10 minutes before we were sat which is basically like being sat immediately in New York time. And generally, the staff here were great -- very personable and accommodating, quick service, only praise in that area. The vibes here are cozy but lively, giving more of a friend hangout than a date (it's also relatively loud so not ideal for conversation if you're sitting across from someone at a table, versus standing and mingling or sitting on bar stools). If you're a dirty martini person you are in luck here, because the Serpentini (grey goose vodka, dry vermouth, olive brine, pepperocini liqueur) is unlike any other. And I get dirty martinis pretty much everywhere I go, so that's saying something. Why is it so unique, you may ask? Well, the pepperocini liqueur is a nice touch and props to whoever decided it was necessary to make such a thing. But the real game changer is the sidecar. You may be thinking -- how is a sidecar unique? Well, it's not just any sidecar...it is not filled with more martini but simply PURE FILTHY BRINE. I mean, if you're ordering a dirty martini, you probably would take a bath in olive brine, brush your teeth with olive brine -- hell, maybe even your contact solution is just olive brine. Want to make your martini dirtier as you drink it? Serpentine has you covered. It is so simple and obvious yet I've never experienced it before. And, because I've never met someone who loves dirty martinis who doesn't also drool over blue cheese-stuff olives, the Serpentini's got that too. Though less exciting and groundbreaking, Mezcal Negroni (ilegal mezcal, campari, averna amaro, lo-fi gentian amaro) is also solid. I love a mezcal negroni and this one is relatively straightforward, just a subtle variation with a few different amaros to add some complexity and herbal notes. A fun and versatile neighborhood spot. It's in prime location so I imagine to rent is absurd, so fingers crossed that it sticks around!

The bartenders are the ones singing (amazing voices, I must add) and some of the customers sing too, making the crowd go wild. This downstairs part of the bar has low tabled, high tables and bar seating. They have an upstairs which is a different atmosphere but equally fun. Second floor is more dance/ DJ music with a dancefloor, and neon lights. So, pick which mood you are in and decide where to party. On a busy night service can be a bit slow, but they are working extra, pouring drinks and entertaining. Still they try their best and do it with a friendly attitude, and even ask the crowd for song requests Regardless of which floor you end up at, you will end up having a great time and coming back for more on your next time in NYC.
