I have been receiving gift cards for a couple years as gifts because this was my favourite salon,…read moreunfortunately that is no longer the case. I booked a spa pedicure and shellac manicure. The parafen wax pedicure is luxurious and feels great. I will say the amount of colours is disappointing. My shellac manicure started to lift that night peeling off. This was hugely disappointing as we were leaving on vacation. I was able to get in to repair the faulty nail the next day. We were gone one week and within that time all of the shellac nails were peeling. For this reason I wouldn't get another manicure there. The pedicure has held up. When I went to pay I had previously confirmed I had more then the amount of services in gift cards on file but the lady at the til couldn't access it so I had to leave a credit card number and talk to the manager the next day. This took 20 minutes standing while the clerk was not able to use the system. Poor service and definitely room for some coaching. I could overlook the system access issues this if the quality of the service was there but it wasn't. There is lots of competition in this industry so I will be looking elsewhere to ask for gift cards from.

It's obviously convenient if you're looking to get other services done. The downside is the spa experience (even in the room farthest from everyone) may be occasionally punctuated by gossiping ladies and the manic laughter that ensues. I liked how competitive their registered massage prices are ($68 for a one hour RMT). I didn't like how clinical the whole experience felt. No robes, no tea, no offer of aromatheraphy oils, no slippers. I could have done without the slippers but needless to say, if it's a spa experience you're looking for, look somewhere else. The massage room itself is a proper "spa" ambience but it comes nowhere close to the luxury spa experience you get elsewhere. The spa music was soothing enough but was kept at such a low volume, you can hear everyone outside. My therapist was decent, but I found it funny when she said, "I won't be offended if you go to another therapist after". Fair enough but I'd be going to another therapist for a real spa experience, not because of her skills. Otherwise, it was a very clean, very well-kept spa for how busy it was. If you're looking for something very basic, go for it, otherwise save pampering for somewhere in town since all the massage rates here are plus/minus $5-$8 give or take.
