I needed to get my nails done and they were able to see me about an hour before closing as a walk in. The nail tech matched the color I had and was super detailed in removing my old polish, filling, and repainting. She gave some nail care tips, food recommendations, and was really friendly and outgoing. The atmosphere with the other techs was fun (and funny) and there were even a couple of cute English bulldogs- what a bonus! This is not the place for you if you want a relaxing, animal free experience! There are 3 dogs running around with balls. One became a little aggressive when a child came in so the staff spent half of my time admonishing the dog. One dog kept bringing his ball to my nail tech and the nail tech stopped service a couple times to retrieve the ball and throw it for the dog and did not wash her hands before resuming the service. Kim is the best! She's kind, talented, and funny. My silly self showed up with no appointment and showed her a picture of shein nails which I would not recommend doing... but Kim absolutely slayed them despite never having done waves before. During and immediately after my luxury lush pedicure and gel manicure, I walked out thinking I was going to give them five stars. The atmosphere was very pleasant and it was obvious the decor was specifically planned out. You get your manicure done at a bar table while sitting on a bar stool. Hence the name Nail Bar. They have hung curtains as dividers to give a sense of privacy, and also an added decor. The waiting area, where I did not have to spend any time - make an appointment to save you time - was extremely cute and welcoming. They even have a short chubby bulldog walking around like he owns the place. If you're not a dog person or are allergic, then you may want to skip the salon because it seems that he's always working the room. If you really want to treat yourself, go for the luxury lush pedicure so you can dip your feet in the hot wax and really feel rejuvenated. The lush pedicure offers everything the luxury lush does, except for the hot wax. The biggest bummer was that my gel manicure chipped after 3 days. This has never happened to me, and I wasn't engaged in any sort of activity that would have led me to this. I love the color and the look of my nails; I just expected more durability. read more

I've been going here for over a year. It's a friendly atmosphere, it's clean and they always do a good job.

I really wanted to like this place. I enjoy my first visit there, they have a great selection of colors and some adorable dogs for snuggles. But when I called to make an appointment I was a little taken back by their response. I called first thing in the morning to schedule an appointment for that day. I wanted to come in when they were not so busy because I would have to bring my 8 month old son and I didn't want him to disturb other customers and I to make sure the stroller or car seat wasn't in the way. So I tried to make things work for both parties, but when I asked about bringing him and what time would work best for them. His response was that they are extremely busy and if he cried they would have to stop my manicure and they would not be able to finish it. Point blank that was it, so if I wanted to come in I ran the risk of then just stopping and sending me home. I have taken my son to a few nails salons and have never been treated like that. I understand that salons are busy, in fact I recall on my first visit to Lush having to wait 30 mins (even though I had an appointment for both services) to get my pedicure, while some of the techs finished their conversations. I tried respect their business and went out of my way to make things work for both parties. The harsh response was unnecessary for someone who was trying to be respectful. So my advice if you are a mother who is wanting to get out of the house and do something nice for yourself while having baby a long. Pick a different place. read more

I really loved this place walking in. Cute decor, cute dogs, offered drinks, even wine. People were kind. Prices were standard. I wanted to try something new. I should go where I know. Complaints: had me dip in a bucket of paraffin which means every one else's feet dip in there too?! Is that even sanitary. I'm used to them putting some in the foot bag. Never changed the towel my feet rested on so even at end it was all wet and dirty. Only gave me one hot towel to lay on both legs/feet and it was dirty. Used to one per leg. Nothing came out of package. Barely exfoliated or filed my feet. No pumice stone just a metal file? Said I need extra help on my heels. Said I should buy a pumice stone. She even kept being mean to dogs and said they were stupid. I'm an animal lover so it offended me. I expected so much more. Won't try a new place again. Not at all what I was hoping for. Best nail place I've ever been to and the only place I will go in the area. Even if I'm out of town, I'll wait to get my nails done so I can go here. I started going here in 2014/2015. I now live a half an hour away but I make the drive, it's worth it! Parking is always good and now since they have built up the area, there is much more to do and shop for in the plazas. The prices are reasonable, especially for the quality and the salon is always clean and everyone in the staff is friendly and great at what they do! This was my second time coming to Lush and again, they were great! The first time I got a regular manicure, and the standard polish chipped within a few days...but I feel like that's kind of my own fault for skimping on gel. I went back today and got gel and I am super happy with it! They take their time and do an excellent job. First time I went in I was a walk-in and was seated within 5 minutes. Today I called when they opened at 10am and was offered options of a 12pm or 1pm appointment. Literally one of the best nail experiences I've ever had. I came into to Raleigh for a few days on Spring Break and wanted to get a pedicure. I called to make an appt and one was available that day. Gloria was my nail tech and she did an awesome job. Great conversation, clean environment and you can tell safety is a priority. the Nail tech's are very good but the owner started charging 3% if you use a credit card. his prices are rather high also. now if you do not give a 5 to 6 hour notice of cancellation of your appointment you are charged a fee when you make a new appointment, which is applied to that next appointment. no other merchant I know of charges you 3% when using your credit card, the 3% is part of doing business. now you have to pay a deposit if you cancel an appointment and want another appointment. I have an illness, that does not give me notice of when it rear's it's ugly head. obviously the owner does not understand that life happens. I will not put anymore money in his pocket. read more

After seeing some of their work first hand, I decided to visit Lush for a fill in. I had to make an appointment because I was told there were booked up, which was fine but I had called at 12 and was told to come in at 5... I arrived 5 min early and waited a total of 10 minutes before I was sat down with Q, who had a no-show and decided to do my nails because she wasn't busy. She did a great job, honestly. Better than my last experience at another salon. I explained to her what I wanted and asked her to fix what had been done at the last salon and she did all of that and shaped my nails perfectly. I was told the fill in would be $20+, gel is $15, repair $3, ombré $15.. all in all I paid $58. This price is a bit above my preferred price point but I will be returning just because of the quality of their work. read more

I am new to the area and was looking for a nail salon to get my pedicure done. I was a bit late due to not known if where I was going, however I called to tell them I was. I finally got in but since I am a nail technician myself I expect world class customer service. The nail technician had no interest in talking to me even if I am not a big talker I was expected something since I'm a new client but I did t get anything. I wasn't offered a complimentary drink, I had to ask myself for something to drink. I choose a pricey pedicure option it was like $37 plus I added acrylic to two of my toes. All I'm saying here is I am an experience nail technician and I just expected more because I know how it is to be in her position and want to make money and I'm not cheap tipper neither plus I added a waxing service as well, but it seem she has enough clientele and obviously doesn't want more. read more

I also had my eyebrows done and I am very happy with the way they look too. There is this sweet little bulldog named Loki who shuffles around and he is the cutest thing you've ever seen. Very easy-going and docile. The only minor complaint I have is that the chairs/stools aren't super comfortable and my legs were starting to fall asleep. I used to enjoy frequenting Lush Nail Bar to have my fingers, toes, and brows maintained. It's an average quickie strip-mall nail salon; moderate prices, moderate service/quality, with a well-designed atmosphere and staff with a laid-back disposition. This afternoon I received unacceptably poor service, and as such, I will not be returning to nor recommending this nail bar for any type of service. My nails were quickly clipped, filed, cuticles softened and trimmed, nails buffed, then polish applied. Every aspect of the manicure, from nail shaping and cuticle care to polish, each application was sloppy and inattentive. Further, I had to ask the nail technician, Phong, to correct certain unacceptable areas of my nails multiple times throughout the service. Ultimately, my nails are unsatisfactory in appearance. Even worse, this basic manicure took a solid hour and a half to complete, and cost $38 (before tip). I am extremely disappointed with the result, and embarrassed the the poor polish job. The specific polish color I chose was dark, and due to the thin formula, required four coats. As such, the polish is uneven in application and thickness; some areas are semi-translucent while others are opaque. This is evidenced in the two photos I uploaded. In numerous areas, my cuticles are marked with spots of thin grey polish , making my fingers look kind of dirty and unprofessional. What's irritating is that after the first coat, I saw that the application was very thin, I offered to choose a different polish of a similar color, expressing concern that it would require an excessive number of coats and possibly look thick/lumpy. My technician assured me this wouldn't be necessary. Once the manicure was complete, Phong guided me towards the reception to checkout, completely ignoring that I had also scheduled a pedicure. This may have been due to the fact that the salon was out of hot water, which forced the staff to fill pedicure tubs with microwaved water and water heated through the coffee maker. Regardless, no staff member ever acknowledged that they would not be able to fulfill my pedicure appointment (which they had confirmed when I checked in), substitute a polish change in place of the pedicure, or even attempt reschedule the pedicure for another date. I will note that after expressing my disappointment, Kiu did offer to correct my nails later in the week, however, after this experience, I don't know if I want to return. Why would they knowingly let a customer leave feeling dissatisfied with the polish application, rather then simply fixing it at that point in time? Throughout the entire appointment, various inadequate service scenarios demonstrated aspects of communication and professionalism that can be greatly improved upon. read more

Went to Chiro next door and saw this place. Looked like lots of really nice nails and designs in pix. They fitted me in. I have acrylic and wanted a shellac type color that lasts. So I ended up with a guy. He was ok but didn't speak much and I didn't pick my color till almost the end. Didn't have a lot of time to choose I guess. He did an ok nail but didn't get my glue under nail like I talked about. Shape is sorta ok. I wanted square and rounded tips. I got edges more rounded. Now I do see most new nails are the pointy vampire style... not for me. I'm too old for that. Classics is just fine. I did give home a $5 tip cause he did take the time but I'm on the fence. So I moved here from Charlotte where I had a regular nail tech for years. I had terrible luck with the first two nail salons I tired in Raleigh area. I was told to visit Lush but honestly heard conflicting reviews. Well I have to agree with the bad reviews. I had a total of 5 nails break, I got 1 repaired twice. My nails were lifting within a couple days. So fast forward to today. I woke up this morning and decided I want going to call about this complaint I was just going to go up there and talk to the manager so he/she could see how sincerely upset I was and also I didn't want to have to write this long review about how terrible my experience has been. I'm here now waiting going on 1 hour to speak to a manager in private (I do not like giving negative reviews in front of other patrons. I will rate them 1 star everywhere I can as much as I can.
