I was quite surprised they have an Orange soap scrub (I love oranges). It's quite fragrant in the shower, but wished it lingered long after I get out. I also got feet powder, which I think works? Sprinkled some into each sock and my feet feel softer. The only thing to take into consideration is the space, you pretty much have to work in circles since there's only so much space to peruse the products. read more

So I stopped in here two weeks ago and I wasn't super pleased. Besides the store being small (the Trumbull, CT one is even smaller), it was also crowded with only a handful of customers. I always stop in here whenever I am at the casino. Honestly, I feel like they hire almost too many people. You always get approached by a bunch of workers and it's kind of difficult to figure out who is helping who or if you should get help from more than one person. Not to mention, you get attacked. I hate going into a store to browse and get "attacked" with "What are you looking for?...Oh, try this.....How about that?" More than once, I have purchase a face and body cleanser (these products are typically "fresh" for 3 months) and they are only good for another month...which tells me they don't sell much. They also must be opened by everyone and their brother because the scent is diminished a bit. Also the large boxed gift sets kind of create an uninviting blockade near the entrance to the store. On this particular trip, I was in search of the new Easter line of products, which comes to find out are currently only available online, not yet in store. So I told a worker what I was hoping to find and he said "Oh, we have them, we just can't put them out on the floor yet." That would have been fine if he stopped there. But as he went to retrieve a second item for me, he returns with the Easter item I inquired about and waved it around in a "Ha Ha, here it is but you can't have it type of manner". Totally unprofessional. My advice: I think you are better off ordering Lush products online rather than coming to this location. They'll be fresher. read more

Okay for starters, the Lush store at Mohegan Sun is TINY, like bump into everyone and everything tiny, but shockingly they have a good amount of product. I didn't see many of the fancy boxed sets that's usually an entire display but I also was not looking for those. And for the size of the store it was surprisingly pretty high staffed, I could have sworn I saw more employees than I could count on one hand. I purchased exactly what I was looking for and they were even nice enough to provide some samples and explain what each one was for. This location may be tiny but the staff are always fantastic here! They always great you as soon as you walk in are very helpful. They take the time to listen to what you are looking for and never push products you don't want or need on you. They will give you samples of almost any product they carry so you can try before you buy, Their bath bombs and bubble bars are worth their weight in gold! They are so fabulous and relaxing. Beautiful soaps galore! I ventured in here first as I was walking through Mohegan Sun shopping area. I first stumbled in a Lush store a long time ago in an airport. I remember I got to sample a soap as I washed my hands in their sinks and my hands smelled like baby powder after wards. I was mesmerized by the colors and different types of soaps with unique names. I was greeted by a very nice saleslady and told her that I was just looking. As I love soaps and bath products, I just could not spend $7-8 on a bar of soap. Yes, the soaps are handmade and look like pieces of art but I could not justify on spending that much on soap. I pretty much enjoyed "just looking". If I ever do stumbled upon another lush store, I will step inside again. read more

Boy that's the last time I get persuaded to buy something by an overly pushy obnoxious way-too-happy-at-their-job sales person. Here's one man's perspective... I realize Lush is big with the ladies so out of curiosity I asked if they had any products for guys. The sales girl did and explained the magical wonders of "Dirty" shaving cream. Bingo, I can never find good shaving cream. So I bought some. Unfortunately it's basically crap. It was some of the worst shaving cream I have ever used in my life (and yes I did follow the instructions). I'd probably get a better shave if I smeared wet saw dust on my face. It's described as "a superb shaving cream with oat milk to cool and calm, safflower oil to moisturizer and honey to soothe." That's great and all, and it sounds terrific to eat, but I really haven't used the stuff again after my awful first experience. I guess if there's a snowstorm and I ever run out of food, I can always go to my bathroom to ingest some Dirty shaving cream. If it can't provide me with a good shave then perhaps it can provide me with some good nourishment. Yum honey. read more

i love this Lush store! The sales associates are so friendly and they always give me samples! My husband and i always come here when we come to mohegan. Today we had a great conversation with one of the associates about animal testing and she was so knowledgable. We even ended up buying a reusable bag that goes towards preventing animal testing. I've always liked Lush, but have been a bit turned off by their prices. I've often splurged on friends/family, but bought only an occasional bath bomb for myself, (which I usually put in a plastic bag & whack with a hammer so that I can use it more than once!) But the other day, I was in the market for some shampoo and body wash, so I headed over to check them out more thoroughly. (It's a little difficult to buy a scented product from a catalog! Much easier to smell it in person.) I was disappointed at first by their body washes. Their scents were not to my liking, and the prices were astronomical to me. Their solid shampoos all smelled vaguely like campfires and coal tar. Luckily, a salesgirl intercepted me and was able to help me fine-tune my selections. I like stronger, sweeter scents (think: candy, sugar, cake, vanilla, honey...) and she suggested trichomania shampoo for my over-straightened heat-treated hair (it smells like coconut sunscreen--a real throwback to my childhood spent on the beaches of Florida!) and The Godmother soap. My salesgirl, Lauren, also talked to me about skincare. I told her I was satisfied with my Clinique regimine, but she suggested some products for me and packed me up some free samples anyway. (I'm okay with this kind of "sales". Don't be pushy--but hell, if you think your products will sell themselves, I'm more than happy to try them!) After my visit, I am a little disappointed to learn that Lush uses Sodium Lauryl Sulfate in their products. I went in thinking (and made my purchases thinking...) that I was getting a safe soap--but I realize that 'organic' and 'vegan' doesn't necessarily translate into "safe"...but I guess I had been hopeful. However, this has nothing to do with my actual experience at the store, so I didn't take points off for that. A warning to asthmatics, however. I have very mild asthma, but after smelling all the goodies Lush had to offer, I had a massive asthma attack. I can't be sure what caused this (it might have been smoke in the Casino, or even MSG in the lunch I had eaten, not necessarily Lush) but a note of caution--if you are asthmatic, even mildly, bring your inhaler to the casino! This is the greatest store ever. I could spend hours in this shop just smelling and trying everything they have. The staff is extremely friendly and they really know their stuff! They usually greet you and bombard you with free samples! Who doesn't love that?? I always want to go to Mohegan Sun not for the casino, but for the LUSH! This stuff gets addicting to buy and it is expensive, but you get what you pay for. You cannot find their products in a cvs for example. Best product is RUB RUB RUB ( a body wash that smells like heaven) Anything Karma scented is great too. American Cream (a conditioner) doesn't make your hair soft like most conditioners should, but boy does it smell yummy. If you really want to smell good from head to toe, you need to go to LUSH! read more

Please see my original review in 2013 for a full breakdown of most of their products and their value (or lack thereof). There have been several sad developments for buyers over the past couple years. Only regular shoppers will notice this; new shoppers will not know what they are missing out on: LUSH has raised almost all of their prices by $1-$2, sometimes more. They no longer give facial care samples that will last you at least a week before you commit to buy. I only needed to do this once for my sensitive, acne-prone skin, but I used to recommend LUSH regularly to friends, relatives, and new coworkers because I could emphasize that they could test the product first. Now that is not true, so I rarely mention LUSH. The only reason I tried LUSH several years ago was because one of my former coworkers insisted on it and because the shop gave me a generous sample to try; word-of-mouth is powerful, so I think LUSH is really hurting itself with these changes. Worse, LUSH no longer sells their clay facial soaps deli-style; you have to buy a tub that costs $15.75, which means you cannot buy a small amount to sample for a couple weeks. This was like a slap in the face when I went to buy my usual amount the other day. I find it's easier to waste a larger tub because if too much water gets in it (in the shower), it turns into a kind of gross slush before I can finish it off. That's why I preferred to buy smaller amounts. Since I bought smaller amounts, I also went into the shop more frequently, which will not happen now. I wonder if the company considered this effect. Meanwhile, the company emphasizes that they care about the environment, but they have started cutting corners. For example, this shop stopped using washcloths and towels and has switched to disposable paper towels. This does not affect the quality of their products, but it does detract from the company's mission statement. It does feel like each time I enter the store, I find out some new bad news. Sometimes I'm weary to go anymore. Currently you can turn in five empty pots for a free face mask, but I am anticipating this bonus will soon disappear. In the fall, I had a really bad experience with a sales associate when some of these changes took place, which I described on Yelp. I was relieved to discover the other day that the associate is now gone, and I have noticed that the new employees seem very friendly, genuine, and helpful. The store usually has stellar service, so the rude associate was probably an anomaly. Finally, LUSH does carry a makeup line now, but I do not use it except for the mascara, which is great yet awful: It lengthens without creating clumps and leaves lashes feeling soft and healthy, but it is not even slightly water resistant. If you so much as cry one tear, it's all over. You will look like Alice Cooper. As such, I use it on days when I'm not PMSing and there's no chance of rain. Otherwise, I stick with other brands to be safe. I tried the highlighter but found it too be too icy/shiny. Lush is my personal favorite for pampering and splurging. I like the Mohegan Sun location, as I stop in every time I'm at the Casino for a concert. Staff: the staff at this location are very friendly, and there seem to be a lot of them there. I was approached by 3+ ladies. Two of them had limited knowledge about their "retro" items available online. The last of them knew exactly what retro item I was talking about, and recommended a similarly scented bath bomb. I am a LUSHie, but only a recent convert after visiting the Mohegan store! After getting a wonderful (free) hand treatment using LUSH products, we were given a full on tour of nearly every product on the shelves. The sales girls were fun, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about the brand. I love going to the casino because I get to visit Lush! I always find amazing new products to try. Today's purchase included a jar of "93,000 miles"shower jelly. This is my favorite shower jelly yet! I strength train at least 3 days a week and the cinnamon in this jelly really eased my aches and pains! I would definitely recommend for anyone who is sore after working out. I went last week and when walking in, was very nervous. I wasn't sure what I wanted, but knew what I needed. A man named Matt introduced himself quickly and listened as I explained what my needs were. He suggested a product to me and even demonstrated its use while answering ALL of my questions. He was so knowledgeable and even suggested further products that would help me. I couldn't afford them that day and he didn't pressure me, which I appreciated. I went to lush last night, I had never heard of it. We had a little company outing the casino and a couple of the women I work with were talking about lush and I joined the conversation saying I really wanted some bath bombs. Lush was a definite win for me. Upon arriving the store I was approached by one employee I don't remember her name because I'm horrible at names. We were talking I had mentioned that I was allergic to almond oil, she immediately started looking into the ingredients. While she was gone a young man was obviously Over by me restocking some items and he started talking to me about products. I had mentioned a smell I liked and he suggested some bombs I might like. I've got bombs in my basket, I mention I love lemongrass and eucalyptus. The female employee shows a soap that is both smells in one I was AMAZED!!! I had seen Lush stores from the outside on numerous occasions. I never actually ventured in until this particular day. Turns out I needed face powder and blush, and decided I'd see what Lush had to offer. The sales lady was very helpful. I told her I don't wear a lot of makeup, and only was interested in looking at face powder and blush. She showed me exactly what I asked for, and didn't push anything else. I purchased Emotional Brilliance powder and Charisma skin tint. Both are small jars, but it only takes a small amount to get full effect out of these products. Charisma especially seems like it will last forever. Both products make my face look fresh and healthy for hours. I also like the "made by" date on the bottom of the jar. You can see how long your cosmetics have been sitting around on the shelf prior to purchase. I also purchased a little jar of lotion at the register called "charity pot". Each pot represents a certain charity, and 100% of the profits go directly to that charity. You can also nominate your own charity at their website. I literally have to control myself walking past this store in the casino. I will go in multiple times realizing I need just one more thing. The staff is very friendly, and super helpful. They may come off as overly friendly but they are just doing their job, and if I worked there I'd be super chipper too. It is pricey but you get what you pay for. I've tried so so many products in the store. I'm not a huge fan of the skin care line aside from angels on bare skin and the face masks but I love there hair care and body scrubs and lotions. If you let people help you and you are friendly right back you get free samples so it doesn't hurt to be pleasant and equally enthusiastic! read more

My boyfriend and I had heard a lot of great things about Lush so we decided to stop in at the Mohegan Sun location. We were happily greeted by Rebecca as soon as we stepped foot into the store. As we were browsing she was very informative of every product we picked up. She took the time to tell us what each product was used for and what it would do. She even took the extra step to demonstrate a couple products on both my boyfriend and I's arms and hands. She was very knowledgeable and it was useful in deciding which products we were going to purchase. She was one of the most friendly people I've ever met and we will definitely be back to that store from now on as long as she is there!! I've visited the store 3 times and each time I've left happy. The staff is ready to listen to your needs and recommend great products that work! Yes, it is pricier but what you're putting on your skin is safe and natural. I suffer from acne and the items I've purchased here have improved my skin so much. I am now pregnant and am limited on things I can use to keep my skin balanced. I was prescribed medications from my doctor which are "safe to use" but they can't say for sure are completely safe. If you use precipitation acne medication during pregnancy the benefits have to outweigh the risks (it's in writing in the informational guides). No thank you. I can't risk that with me little one inside me. This is why LUSH products are great for me! I can happily, calmly and safely apply EVERY product. So happy I found this gem of a brand!!!! read more

Ok so... i love Lush. I love all of the great ingredients. I love the scenty but not over powering fragrances, I love the cutsey names everything has. However... I don't love shopping in a three by three fire hazard of a space being approached by not less then four different store associates. The layout of the store is an aesthetic nightmare. The staff are friendly but overly helpful. That sounds nit picky but I really prefer to shop without a new best friend as soon as I walk through your opening (there isn't a door). There were at least six employees working in literally not much more than a mall kiosk sized space. There was barely room for customer foot traffic and it was a busy Saturday night. I had planned on picking up way more then I did but the whole experience felt cramped, rushed and overwhelming. The young lady that I interacted with the most was very friendly and well versed on her products and she herself could have been the sole sales person on the floor and sales would have probably been triple what they actually were for the shift. read more

The reason I'm reviewing this location is the extraordinary customer service that I received during my short, late night visit. The salesperson still had spunk and enthusiasm when she greeted everyone walking through the doors at approximately 9PM at night. Then proceeded to sell me two more items, while she rang up my original selections. During this transaction, she upsold the customer standing next to me. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! In case you were wondering, I love this place LOL. The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable about all their products. Not only is the staff friendly but the company themselves have great values and use recycled containers (you can bring back too for a free mask) and natural ingredients and safe synthetics. I have terribly sensitive skin and these are the only products I can use with a scent that don't ruin my skin. Typically I love lush and buy a lot there whenever I'm at the casino, Trumbull mall or airport. BUT my visit on Monday night, November 23, at The Mohegan Sun Casino was the most irritating trip I've ever had in any store, period! I should of just left but I still stayed and spent over $130... Honestly I would of spent a lot more if I wasn't pestered the entire time by your staff. She would not leave me alone. I understand upselling and trying to be informative but she was relentless. I told her several times I need to think, I can't think w her talking to me, I'm talking to my daughter, etc, etc. She kept after me repeatedly asking me what my price point was, who am I buying for etc, Etc. I repeatedly told her I do not have one... I like to check out everything... Small things for a teacher or fav lady at my bank, bigger items for friends. If I picked something up and put it back down she questioned why I put it back down. She even interupted my daughter and I 's conversation more than once even asking "who's Cheryl" she was utterly obnoxious. You need to train your staff to approach people and then give them space if they ask for it. I went in there so excited to check out the Christmas items and left in a terrible mood. read more
