Was in a large wedding party this past month and there were just so many things that went wrong…read more Not sure if this was entirely the owners fault (as he orders the tuxedos) but I wouldn't say it was all about quality and service. To start, he promised the Groom a "Groomsmen fitting party" where he would provide pizza and beers if we chose him for our tuxes. So the groom-to-be did, and when we showed up there was no pizza and the owners wife popped up with a few beers right before we finished. Really that's not a big deal but let's get to the important stuff. For the big day there were countless problems with the tuxes that clearly showed a lack of detail from the owner, one shoe was ripped, of the 9 tuxes ordered, 8 had bowties as they should, but the 9th was a regular tie, so one of the groomsmen didn't even match. Some of them were missing the cufflinks and button covers that are supposed to come with the tuxes. There was trash in the pockets when they were recieved just overall a lot of us felt like for $200 tuxedo rentals there were way to many things overlooked. All the while he called many of us to try and work out times for us to pick up his tuxes and return them around HIS schedule since he had certain places to be. Customer service just wasn't much of a priority here.

Updated version Hi All,…read more  I know that everyone is different & everyone has a different notion about suits & what to buy.   But, if you need and are looking for a new suit and you are not an off the rack fit or perhaps you like made to measure (MTM) suits that are well constructed (full or half canvas) and that fit well, then please consider Art Solop of Benchmark Clothiers.     Art is a very nice friendly gentleman who knows his business & he offers very good MTM suits at reasonable prices.     I've tried to have MTM suits made by highly rated online vendors & even at one vendor at a brick & mortar location in D.C. and they can't compete in quality, amount of customization & fit. He can do almost anything from different types of pockets to styling to various linings and other many varied customizations all at the same price.  He doesn't even charge differently for different fabrics unlike many others.   My father was a custom suit fitter for Barneys NY and then for a custom uniform company in NYC for many years & he taught me all he knows about how a suit should fit. That's made me pickier than most when it comes to suits, how they fit and their construction for better or for worse. So believe me when I tell you that Art Solop is good & his suits are really well made. He is knowledgeable about Shatnez and has ascertained from his manufacturer assurances that his wool suits do not contain any linen.  Of course this is not a guarantee and I am not advising anyone not to have their clothing checked.   I highly recommend trying Art and Benchmark Clothiers for your next MTM suit or shirt. He can help with off the rack suits as well for about $400.00 inclusive of pants finishing - hem or cuff). Unfortunately had a terrible experience with Benchmark Clothiers. After the initial…read moreconsultation/down payment, I was informed that the suit would take 5-7 weeks to be ready. After not hearing any updates by the 7 week mark, I called and was informed it would be another 3 weeks. 2 Weeks later (total of 9 weeks of production time), I was told the suit was ready for pick up. After going in to pick up the suit, the suit was not made to my specifications with multiple discrepancies based on what I remember discussing at the initial design. I was also told the detail sheet we worked on was now proprietary information that I was not allowed to see anymore, so I had no way to show it was what we discussed. No solution was reached to remediate these discrepancies, and left with no suit and out the down payment. I will say the suit was a nice suit, but I was paying good money for a Custom suit to my specifications, not just a nice suit.
