After being taunted by both the visual delight of the bright…read morecart, and the word of every person that has ever been, I finally got myself down there to see what the fuss was about. Just fish and bread? Could it really be that good? Well, yes actually. The answer is yes. Quite literally a little street peddling cart, the Seafood Peddler offers just a few simple items - fish in bread, octopus in bread, octopus tentacle or if you can't choose between fish or octopus - a seafood scramble of them both. $10 each or $8 for the smaller scramble option. Being indecisive and wanting to reduce the carb intake, I got the scramble which is only on a single piece of turkish bread. He asked if I wanted chilli on that. I refrained from screaming "YES, GIVE ME ALL THE CHILLI!!!" because I wanted to see how they typically serve it. After a little wait (these guys are insanely popular), I finally got my bread with a delicious mix of cuttlefish, octopus, lettuce and chilli. It was so flavoursome. Eyes rolling into my head flavoursome. The chilli amount was perfect for my spice-loving tastes, leaving a strong lingering kick that had me craving a big cold beer to wash it down with. They forgot my serviette, but watching my red chilli-oil covered hands struggling with my stuff, some friendly folk at the next table came to my aid with some spares. Because food this good makes people neighbourly and awesome. These chaps had beer too, which I suspect you can order from the adjoining Claypots restaurant in front of the stall. If you're visiting the market, bring your $10 and join the queue for this. Thank me later.

Typically there are just a few choices, fish or octopus, on bread or as a salad. Pick any and you'll be fine, but if you like octopus I recommend the octopus sandwich. A perfectly grilled, tender and sweet tentacle, sliced and served on a buttered and lightly toasted ciabatta roll, with chilli, greens and a squeeze lemon. It's light, simple and flawless. Sit down right there and enjoy it al fresco as you get in some quality people watching time.

This stuff is so legit, it makes me beyond happy. My family cooks with that stuff, seriously, my sister won't use anything else for her jerk chicken. Whenever I see Boss Man Foods, I know without a doubt that that's what I want to have. I've seen them at the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, and the Queen Vic Night Market. If you check out their Facebook, you'll know exactly where to find them! I've tried so many things from them, and at every event, their menu is different, but I've never been anything less than satisfied. Yucca fries, jerk chicken, Trini-style curried chicken, festival dumplings, a curried goat burger, yummmmmm. It's more then just spices, it's flavour! Just go, go and find them. It will be like a Renaissance for your taste buds. They won't even know what they've been missing out on and will thank you forever for it.

Incidentally, it was also the restaurant that we decided to be the one to end our trip on an extra positive note (best vacation we've had yet)! My partner and I have very different food restrictions/preferences and everything on the menu was perfectly suited for us. I highly recommend the red curry with tofu & vegetables along with any of their white wines! Overall, lovely service and charming atmosphere in one of my favorite cities!

Each dish is bursting with flavour made with real fresh ingredients. The colours, textures and tastes make you feel like you could be in Thailand. One of the best pad Thais I have ever had and I was in Thailand earlier this year. Portion size is huge. Come hungry come with friends. It is truly astounding. Best of all it is extremely well prices. It's almost a little hard to believe that something this good could be so cheap and so plentiful. Great little spot for a quick weekday dinner. The staff are friendly and more than happy to accommodate requests. I've eaten here a few times now and everything has been delicious. The snapper can easily feed 3 people with rice and the Tom khan soup is also exceptional. They also deliver and you can byo. There is really nothing not to love. I will definitely be back again soon.

My initial experience was not too bad The food is good for what it is and a welcome relief from the usual late feed. Got the vegan Weiner and wasnt that impressed however with the food itself. Chips were also a bit weird. Kinda soggy and the sauce were a bit meh Staff were super friendly to be fair and decent vibes to accompany the rusty interior aesthetic. Pretty sure they missed another order when I came back a second time. They tried to resolve the issue via FB messenger but it kinda just became radio silence after awhile In summary; not terrible :p

We stumbled across Massive Wieners 25 inch hotdog challenge - so we went to give it a go! The venue is easily accessible via public transport, with tram stops and Prahran train station nearby. It is a cute venue set up like an old American-style hotdog place. We found it entertaining to browse around at all the photos of people that have tried the challenge on the walls. Both staff members we dealt with on were extremely friendly, particularly the owner. He was very sociable and made the whole experience better. They also have vegetarian/vegan options so everyone can have a try! The hotdog really was HUGE! We thought it was pretty great value, as it was only $15.00 - with the allowance of two condiments and unlimited water. The hotdog was really tasty, and had a really nice flavour. There was a very generous amount of sauce, which is definitely needed to complete the challenge successfully! The bun was nice too, but unfortunately both of us succumb to the sheer size of the hotdog - meaning we landed a spot on the 'Did not finish' wall. It was a fun experience despite the serious feeling of fullness for the rest of the day. We look forward to going back to Massive Wieners and trying some of their delicious sides. Check them out!
