    Comeback Fish Sandwich with Side
    Shawn T.

Food is cooked to order so it's really fresh. The wait time was about 10 min which isn't bad. Staff was courteous and clean. Washed their hands frequently which was nice to take notice. It's a small eat in but it's ok. A little pricey but the quality was there so no complaints. Inside is nothing exciting but well lit.

OMG the fried fish and shrimp is amazing. Cooked fresh and even right in front of you, if you care to stand and watch. Restaurant is clean with friendly staff. They'll greet you with a smile. I do recommend getting an extra side because it's delicious. Go to place in all of KC are for fish. I'll have to make this a go to place

I was in the mood for fish and mac and cheese today! My go to place is lufis never disappoints! I had to be ar work at 830am for the world famous monthly team meeting for work so to put me a better mood a belly full of warm homemade mac and cheese and some catfish and red beans and rice and for 35 mins I was taken away from the stupor of my current situation and brought to a world of pure bliss! Dont forget the lemon cake! I've been here twice now and both times never never had an issue with the food or the service! The staff always takes care of me! Go see these good folks!

    Tilapia sandwich

Very disappointed in the portion size. $8 for a baby tilapia. It was also hot as hell in the store. Dunno if the ac broke or they're trying to save on energy but it's a bit much. Taste is so so... but I like the Texas toast style. I suggest getting a food truck, getting from under the crazy overhead of a brick and mortar and giving people a good damn sandwich for $8.

I've been to this new location twice now since it's opened. The staff are super nice and attentive. The fish is just as fresh hot and crispy as I've come to expect from the Lutfi's name. I highly recommend I'd you are in the mood for some tasty fish. Their smoked wings are great too. My second visit just happened to be when. They were finishing a batch of smoked wings. Had to pick up a half dozen. Great smoky flavor and very meaty wings.

This was suppose to be the 16pc family meal

I was going to order through DoorDash but I notice the prices were way higher then on the website so we decide to call our order in. $44.20 on DoorDash but $34 if you order through the restaurant. On the DoorDash app and their website it said the family meal came with 16pc of fish (tilapia, basa, catfish or white), 2 sides. NOWHERE did it say that if you order the white fish you will only receive 12 pieces of pieces of fish. My husband picked up the order, the person behind the register flashed the box open to him and from what he could see the order looked right. Once he got home and we had a chance to see it more closely did we find that it was not as advertised. There are zero whole pieces of fish. Just chopped up chunks and strips. When I called to let them know we were missing fish, that is when they told us we should have asked if their menu was correct because you only get 12pcs with the whiting. How do you know to ask if the menu online and on the doordash app clearly says 16pcs???????? The lady was all additude and the cook in the back was yelling. It was so unprofessional and disappointing. My suggestion is if you order from here make sure to look into your crystal ball to see if there is anything you should ask since they want you to be a mind reader rather then they correct their menu and advertisements.

I ordered an Italian beer. Normally a Peroni, but tonight it was a Moretti. The house salad is simple and fresh. Italian dressing with blue cheese crumbles certainly hits the spot and is perfect for the main course. Tonight, I went with one of my favorites, Cavatelli Catania, and it is perfect. So hot that when you turn the pasta over, the steam rolls out. Just the way I like it. Extra cheese on top, and you are good to go. Not only now, but there is so much there is enough to take away and have another meal. I could not finish more than a few bites before throwing in the towel. I played it off as maybe I just didn't like the dish. Maybe my palette wasn't meant for it. A year or so later, today, I order a lasagna, something my microwave is quite familiar with. With my vivid familiarity of microwave lasagna, I'm not proud to inform you that great-value microwave lasagna brings me more joy than the lasagna I had here. The lasagna here was not bad, but it was not good. I would eat this again if I was hungry, but I would never seek this lasagna out. Each bite was so oily that I became a meteorologist for my stomach's own forecast. While the oil was consistent bite to bite, the meat dispersion wasn't. The meat was hanging out on one side of the dish clumped up together, making the bites with meat feel either lonely or overcrowded. Now that I have tried a dish that I know how it should taste, I can admit maybe, "The Tortellini Michelangelo," is likely objectively not good too. Or I should just appreciate the one-note musky mushroom taste and nothing else. The atmosphere feels weird and tacky. I understand what they are going for aesthetically but the execution feels like a fake halloween mimicry, rather than being authentic. Not that I could tell you anything of being authentically italian. I am mainly thinking of the black drop ceiling tiles which turn into regular white drop ceiling tiles at the diagonal edge of the wall or any time there is a ventilation tile. The service was okay, it was very busy so it was hard to flag our server down, but nothing bad. Considering all of this, I think this place as a very middle of the road experience. It really only feels like it is doing the bare minimum to be a restaurant, as such, it meets my expectations for a restaurant.

On our first visit, we ordered carryout. The Roasted Goat Cheese (baked goat cheese with red sauce and oregano) had great flavor, though the crostini was missing from the order. The Lasagna Bolognese was outstanding -- easily some of the best I've ever had. Rich, perfectly layered, and full of flavor with the bolognese, parmesan béchamel, red sauce, and mozzarella. For dessert, the Limoncello Cake was bright and delicious, and the NY-style salted caramel cheesecake was dense and so good. We were impressed enough that we went back -- this time with reservations -- and dined in. On our return visit, we had the Swordfish with lemon caper butter, sautéed greens, and rosemary potatoes. It was cooked perfectly, with bright, balanced flavors and generous portions. We ordered the Lasagna Bolognese again (it's that good), and it did not disappoint. For dessert, we tried the Tiramisu, and it was hands down the best I've ever had. The imported cookies, mascarpone, espresso, and cocoa were perfectly balanced -- light, flavorful, and not overly sweet.
