It's hard to put into words the experience, the leadership and the family that this church…read moreprovides. It's truly a church IN, OF and FOR the ENTIRE Cedar Valley. All races, all ethnic background, all income ranges and they're all viewed the very lens of our Lord and Savior. Everyone is welcome at HCC. My husband and I have been with Hope a city before there even was a Hope City. Pastor Q married us in 2012 after meeting my husband in the taco isle of Waterloo Wal Mart. A big black guy and tall skinny white guy that recognized each other as believers and parted ways that day after praying for each other right there in Wal Mart. We knew after that that the Marshall family were our people. When we got the call 3.5 almost 4 years ago that it was time to start a church in CV. It was go time! The growth and abundance that the Lord has poured down into this church since then has been nothing short of miraculous. We look forward to many more services, campuses, missions communities, community outreaches and most important many many more lives changed in the CV because of Hope City.

The night before, Scott and his friends were playing in some sort of a running and drinking game, that at one point required a "traffic stop" courtesy of the local men in blue. The wedding itself at St. Peter's Lutheran Church was short, pretty, and heartfelt. The Minister was Paul Hougen and the bride's Maiden name ends not with an "en", but an "on". That was almost 23 years ago on October 17th, 1987.
