The Service Canada office (run of course by the Federal Government) is as far as I can tell the model of efficiency and friendliness. I was helping a senior who needed to get a replacement social insurance number card, and from the moment we got in at 8:30 a.m. on a Tuesday, we were greeted by a gentleman who was able to answer the questions and register his place in line, waited a minute or two for his number to be called to the service counter, we were on our way in less than fifteen minutes from the time we arrived. It totally blew away my preconceptions. While I was waiting for my friend to finish, I saw people coming in and going out just as quickly as we had (and sometimes even faster, I think sometimes all they have to do just just let you drop your paperwork off to this office). I like the changes they have made!
