In the past I had had lessons with another well known driving school and had a very bad experience but this instructor really changed my mind about driving and took my nerves into account. Although it did take me several attempts to pass, that was my own fault, not the driving schools! The instructor always turned up on time and taught in an accessible style - even teaching me things like how to pull into a garage and fill up with petrol!

The following Monday, I've now been told that I have to pay an extra £200 to have the course (despite online and over the phone it was clearly £682). I know that PNG record all phone calls so they'll have record of the product being sold at that price. Citizen's Advice on mis sold products is 'If the shop sold you an item at a lower cost than they meant to, you don't have to give it back - they're only legally entitled to ask you for more money if you'd talked about the price (eg £100) and they ended up charging you much less instead (eg £10).' They didn't. They said £682 and I paid £682. 'the company can't usually cancel your order, even if they realise they've sold you something at the wrong price.' PassNGo will not honour this. The extra £200 makes it not cost worthy, so I've requested a refund. I've been given no indication of how long this refund takes. I've spoken to another member of staff at PNG, Luke, and despite him being sat next to the refunds team, told me it would be 5-7 days for the refunds team to contact me with info. 5-7 days purely for info, not for any actual money refunded. To be heading into Christmas £682 down, with no product, no refund information and an apparent lack of protocol in comparison to Citizen's Advice is far from ideal!

Instead, the instructor managed to convince me I'd make a decent driver and he was friendly with a sense of humour. Lessons can be booked by phone or you can call into the office where you will find a helpful receptionist. There is also a car simulator and a drinks machine. Also, if you decide to go with BSM, make sure you do not buy any driving theory test book, cd, or anything like that. This is because when you join BSM and buy 20 hours driving lessons, you will get access to their computers for practising all your driving theory test for free, anytime you like. The customer service there is also helpful. But beware, sometimes one of the driving tutors insists on more hours required (sometimes could be right, other times could be wrong).

Can't comment on the prices as it's a number of years since I passed, but he does do cheaper block bookings which takes the price per lesson down. Frank never seemed to get irrated when teaching the lesson and often went out of his way to schedule lessons (driving accorss town to pick me up). He has a fun way of lightening up the mood, playing games, but still teaching. He has taught 4 of my family members and all of them have passed to.
