I travel a lot and seem to have had bad hair cuts all over the world. Surprisingly, I was able to walk in on 3 PM on Saturday with no appointment and get one of the best hair cuts I have ever received with little difficulty talking talking to the barber/stylist in English. I have had a bob haircut most of my life: under the ears, straight cut, pretty straightforward. I needed to just shorten by a few cm because it had overgrown. We specifically discussed that my bangs should cover my eyebrows. If I weren't so embarassed I'd post a photo of the end result: the sides of my head have at least 4 different lengths opposed to the straight cut it should be, all equal. This makes the whole hairdo blow up like a balloon. And my bangs barely cover half of my forehead. Not sure if I look like a frickin 13 year old or a 60 year old (I am 41). Depends on which side you look at, I suppose. Never leaving my house again for the next month until this disaster grows out.

The spa itself is nicely decorated and modern. Amanda was very warm and friendly, and spent a lot of time discussing with me exactly what I wanted before starting. She also was very communicative throughout the haircut, and made sure I liked the length and style. At the end of the visit, she styled it very nicely for me. Good service at a good price, come here and you'll see- they've got profis and stylists in training whose levels come in three. So if you want something cheaper, ask for a lehrling here- and if it's not perfect, they'll fix it for free- so easy and so clear. Right by the bus stop for 304 and 308, if you drive a car, parking's underneath the place. Come on down to Coiffina- your summer do can't wait!

This place feels comfortable to me for that reason. Stylists here have cool, interesting hairstyles and I find them to be more daring and unafraid to try new things. So when I say I want to cut my shoulder length hair to a short pixie cut, they don't look at me crazy. Instead their eyes light up. Some stylist speak English better than others, but bring a few pics and you'll have no problems. Prices are similar to other hair dressers, and they provide just as many services (head message, hair treatments, manicures, etc). They also have evening hours and weekend times, which I love. But be willing to pay 10% supplement to the price for a Sunday appointment.
