Friendly guy who always make me feel at ease whatever treatment(even my recent root canal treatment). Im with him as a NHS patient so cheap as chips, however not sure if he is taking on new patients as NHS Not easy to get parking as mostly resident only parking outside - however there are limited spaces nearby which allow you to park for upto 2 hours. However just at the bottom of the road is the massive multi storey car park at Toys r us !

He held my xrays the wrong way and filled a bottom molar clumsily that I had no issues with and sent me off with a bulky filling that fused my 2 teeth together. Many dentists have described it as heavy handed dentistry and tried half unsuccessfully to separate it since. The pressure pain I suffered on this tooth recently has made me finally give in and beg to have it pulled. After my 2nd visit to this cowboy, I was left a nervous wreck and the next dentist said that the bruising to my face was excessive and not what he would expect. My Mother also had issues and had to contest the bill that they tried to pursue even though she had to spend more money getting her teeth corrected after his work. I went to this pompous man because an ex friend of mine was his dental nurse at the time. He was all charm and false niceness until things went wrong and then, I couldn't have been treated more rudely. I have been left.with fear of all dentists since setting foot in his surgery.

Also up-to-date with the latest techniques and aware of the importance of the health of the whole mouth rather than just the teeth. I've been a patient of Mr Whately's for about 30 years and although I have seen other dentists now and then (when living outside the area) I have never been happy with anyone else. No NHS patients and the fees are reasonably expensive but well worth it (in my opinion). He is the only dentist in the practise so the waiting room is always quiet (you rarely meet another patient) and calm and the reception staff are happy to mind the children during routine appointments. Limited street parking. Car parks nearby.

I attended a medical conference at Derriford Hospital this week. Coming from London, I was…read moreinterested to see how large hospitals have to run in more rural settings. I found ample parking at 8.30 in the morning though I gather from local friends that it can be more challenging. I understand that there's a free park and ride scheme but I never saw any signs for this. Parking for a whole day costs £8, cheaper than in London hospitals. The signposting to the postgraduate centre was a bit mazy from the front of the hospital but the staff were helpful in offering directions. The acute medicine course was interesting and informative with a nice range of speakers. The venue was comfortable. Quite an impressive setup here in the south west.

Derriford hospital at plymouth is one of the good hospitals in Devon known for good quality staff…read more It is a huge hospital with various floors and different wards like quality control, heart ward where normally patients with their heart problems are accommodated. Within the hospital there is facilty of restaurant where you can easily get sandwich, burger, rice and other food. Same is with the restaurant at 2nd floor but there you can have more food options as you can get a thali there mostly consisting of indian food which i like a lot. The staff at hospital is very friendly, knowledgeable and supportive. When ever you need them they are always available.

Popular play corner for children inclusing a play house. Usual range of services including dispensing for people not living in Tavistock itself. Friendly reception staff. My experiences at Quay Health have lead me to consider reporting them for negligence. Two separate…read moredentists had seen an X-ray showing an abscess and ignored it. It wasn't until I had great pain that yet a third locum informed me and began treatment. Unfortunately, that treatment has yet to be finished. This last appointment was a farce because he couldn't do the work as he wouldn't be there to complete. Nobody phoned me before I came in, and nobody told me at reception. It wasn't until I got into the chair that the dentist himself told me my appointment was cancelled and that I'd have to wait over a month for another NHS dentist. Prior to this fiasco was an incident regarding a tooth-pulling. I had Dry Socket and so I went back in. The dentist ripped up the gum, with no anaesthetic, so it would bleed and clot again. That was on a Friday, so when it didn't work I was in agony. I was forced to go to an emergency dentist in Newton Abbot that Sunday and pay for him to pack it with medicated, dissolving gauze. Something they should have done when I came back in. Fed up with the incompetence.

You are placed in a large room with a total of four clinicians, all treating patients. You are able to see exactly what treatment each patient is receiving. We chose not to have treatment on that occasion. Recently, my younger daughter was referred for a brace and was told she needed treatment. The same impersonal service was given. Less then 24 hours prior to her brace fitting the appointment was cancelled. The customer service was inadequate on this occasion. Delaying the appointment for another month. My daughter suffers with anxiety issues, which the company were aware of, yet no compromise was offered. I feel we dodged a bullet here- there emergency appointments we were told only last 5 minutes!! I can only imagine the service you would receive once you had the brace in place if patients are treated in this manner before any treatment. When asked if further orthodontists were available in the area we were told there were not. A LIE-there are another 3.
