Zucchini, red sea bass and large shrimp

Rocking joint. Shrimp, flouder and sea bass. Location is not tops but I understand. Reasonable rent makes reasonable pricing. Staff was all business, no chit chat. Made dinner with fresh catch there the last 2 nights. Will make it 3 in a row tonight. Here helping a daughter move so our kitchen accessories were limited.

Very impressed first customer! Last minute we decided on seafood for dinner and we knew we wanted fish and shrimp. I had never been to this seafood market before but I had heard a lot of chatter that it was worth the stop. Glad I did! They had a lot of selections as far as fish ! From flounder fillets to catfish. There was shrimp, scallops, crab legs, etc.. They also had a full spice rack available as well as lemons in the fridge. We went with the flounder and jumbo shrimp. For a pound and a half of flounder fillets and a pound of jumbo shrimp, we spent $30. I was very pleased with the price. The staff was helpful and pleasant to speak with. The location is kind of hidden but inside is clean and inviting. I will definitely be returning and recommending this location!

two fish on a piece of paper

I asked for my fish to be butterfly and this is what I got. The seafood markets in the area don't appear to know what butterfly means.

I will say there's plenty of parking outside with a very clean parking lot. There isn't too much inventory spilling out into the front of the store, which is oh so trendy, but it's tastefully done. Walking in the place is extremely clean, after some of the places I've been recently, this is very refreshing. I'll get this out of the way up front. I used to be a chef so when I see GMO, Gluten free, etc etc I cringe. There is hardly a definitive Government standard by which all these things are measured. Which means more often than not, it's a scam. If you want the real deal, farmers markets are the best bet. With that I observed the pricing like a hawk and comparable items had roughly a 10% markup. Now then I do love their house made foods. Cooking pizzas to order? Come on that's awesome! Desserts and cheeses are ok although I was a little down on their sliced meats and the variety. Their butcher was ho-hum and not very impressive. But... I spotted something I didn't anticipate Kangaroo, Ostrich and Bison to name a few oddities. I give credit for carrying very unpopular items around Summerville. FYI I've cooked ostrich before. It tastes just like beef only almost all lean meat for those watching your calories. I wondered around some more, noticing they had better cereal alternatives with less sugar. They lacked snacks like coconut crisps, but they did have a great assortment of dried fruits. Although I was impressed with their dried mushroom selection, no dried shiitakes! Generally, I like fresh, which they did have, but I wanted the juice from soaking them. Odd they have other mushrooms but not shiitake. The people here are fantastic. For some reason in my mind when I think of these "hippy" type of stores like Earth Fare I think very grounded and kind people. I wasn't disappointed as I asked the produce guy for something and he was all too eager to help out. If it were me, I would have been more like "check isle 3" or something. The employees are shining examples of down to earth kindness; something we all could use more of in these days. Overall, I like this place based on principal but those same principles are what keep me away. I'm not overly excited about slapping on GMO free labels when most of the time those are just buzz words to make an extra buck. Are there authentic companies out there? Sure but you really have to do your homework. Therefore, I remain committed to farmers markets. That said, I think this place is fine for those who like it. If you haven't been here before and are reading this be prepared for a slight price increase. To reiterate they do have an interesting variety of items greatly depending on specific products. I'm sure if you drop by you wont leave empty handed especially with the quality of people there to help.

I'm very careful as to the ingredients andI never have to question ingredients of their items. Top…read morequality choices in meat... I would change the name because the name suggests they have oysters only and it turns out there is more, not a whole lot but enough for a non oysterholic to come in and have something to eat while you chug an ale or one of the shots with a slimy thing in it I got to try a shot of something that tasted like bloody Mary's mix with an oyster inside, I felt the slimy thing going down the hatch and later ordered a dozen or so oysters Parmesan, cooked taste a little like scallops, not bad and I could go back and try something else The calamari was ok, not as great as I can make them if I had a fryer with a thermostat, the batter was a little too thick and I tend to like them with a see through batter not a filler, it was crunchy ok but maybe a little overcooked and not a lot of people know that calamari should be flash fried for about a minute and if you go beyond that is like the Michelin man The place is fun and be prepared for a loud environment because it is small but go with an open mind and it is a nice different experience I will go back and try their fish and chips

Our experience was excellent, and so was the food. The restaurant was very clean, the prices were fair, and for a fast-casual restaurant, the service was fantastic. What really stood out was that during a lull, the chef--who I suspect may also be the owner or manager--came out to greet customers and check on the quality of their meals. On his way back to the kitchen, he stopped and bussed a table. It was a small thing, but it says a lot. Clearly, this is someone who cares about the business and the customer experience. We'll definitely be back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to others. And one last thing: the crab cake sandwich was fantastic!

Self serve on beverages, napkins, and utensils. Staff was nice. Food: this is mixed. I got the Baby Shark which is 6 fried shrimp and a piece of fried flounder, comes with 1 side and 3 hush puppies. The shrimp and flounder were nicely cooked without heavy breading. The hush puppies were weird. They were cooked but had almost a beer batter thick outside and the inside tasted almost like raw meal or flour. Tasted greasy but they were not visibly greasy. Since it's their namesake, one would think the hush puppies would be great. I couldn't eat them. The fries had batter on them. They were crispy. I prefer no batter on fries but for those who like that, you'd probably like them. Now the sauces: the tartar was too salty and was missing something that I couldn't figure out. The cocktail sauce was also too salty but did have a nice horseradish kick. There was something missing from it too that I couldn't put my finger on. Maybe it was just the salt overload messing it up. Overall the seafood itself was pretty good but the sides and sauces bring my review down.

I'm here to tell you Harris Teeter in Nexton must be the best one I've been to in SC, literally while it puts all other local grocery stores to shame. I wish I lived close and not off of Old Trolly. When I say it's huge, I mean it, I lived in Kansas City and Austin TX, I know big stores - hint Bucee's first gas station was 14 miles from my house. First of all, the location is easy to get in and out, ample parking and the main road right there. It's in a very safe section of town while inside and outside are extremely clean. Any one will pick up on that immediately walking in, which should put any customer at ease. The produce section ROCKS. I mean it. For instance, I've been hunting for watermelon radish for a long time at 3 other chains and nothing. Harris Teeter had, watermelon radish, dragon fruit, buddha fingers, Rambutan, fresh exotic (not dried) mushrooms and so on. Moreover, I inspected some raspberries and a few other things - no mold! Best produce besides a farmers market! Next, it looks as if they're experimenting taking a page out of midwestern stores' playbook. They have a bar here! Now being a single gentleman I often like meeting women at a grocery store - although I always find the attractive women have some sort of rock on their finger. But I'm seriously considering coming back when it's open, if it's a true bar and not just a wine, beer sampling area. Not that I don't love a good wine tasting but my imagination tells me I would enjoy the upper crust time of "fu-fu, bougie" women that I envision would be partaking here. I need to do more research but I love this idea for the greater Summerville area. While I didn't get any of their baked, seafoods, meats, salads, etc they have by far the best selection, excluding specialty butchers and fish mongers. Their fresh bread laced with rosemary and olive oil danced on the air while chocolate perfumed a few isles. I scanned over everything and cursed my diet b/c I could have really destroyed their food here. As for prices, it's probably just a bit higher than their competitors but I don't mind paying a little higher for a more robust selection. I mean, I saw things like phyllo cups, the newest fall items already being stocked in July, a wider selection of health foods and the list goes on and on. Finally the people here are extraordinary and go the extra mile. I asked where something was and the clerk took me too it. They didn't say "isle 4 by the bread" but nope they wanted to make sure I got what I needed. Moreover I don't have a card, No Problem! They gladly slid the store card in the reader to give me a discount! Come on... who else does that!? As far as grocery stores - this is where you want to go. The only thing lacking the variety of instore made food options and a place to dine. Granted, I came from Austin TX where we had HEB, literally 5 restaurants in the grocery store. Same for Hy-Vee in Overland Park KS. Those Midwest grocery stores - they have full dining experiences. What's next a movie theatre!? Ok, back to the point, here in Summerville, Harris Teeter is the king of grocery quantity, quality and customer service. Drop on by and check it out, but make sure your bank account can handle it.

You get what you pay for! and I get it! it is my fault not theirs but I also blame management for using poor quality ingredients and for the bait and switch factor. Had to throw most of the pizza to the trash, I should have not paid attention to what my friend said about the Monday pizza. About the only thing I like about this store is the bar with live music some days but makes me think what kind of wine am I getting. They are in the business of selling groceries and you would think that the deli and the bar side are just a convenience for the customers but I am not sure I will buy any prepared food or wine from a brand I am not familiar with
