Called on Sunday and Mike answered almost immediately. Explained the situation - leak in bedroom at mom's house. He showed up within the hour and fixed the leak. He also discovered that the pressure regulator wasn't working, which was causing significantly higher than normal pressure in the house, which in turn explained why there had been other leaks recently. He let me know about this, at which point I asked him to repair it. He was able to do this, going to Home Depot for parts, and then back again after opening up the box and discovering someone had swapped it with a used part! We unfortunately were notified by the water department that we had a suspected leak, called around to get quotes - decided to schedule a leak detection with M&EM plumbing because our neighbor also had service from them... We were fortunate enough to get the same master plumber as our neighbor, Mark came out, evaluated, ran tests and isolated the leak problem super quickly! From the person who responded to my request for help (Mike) to the two gentleman that came and fixed my water heater leak (Johnny and Christian) everyone was very kind and professional. They saw the issue and told me what they were planning to do to resolve it and also provided information on what also may be needed if the issue did not resolve according to plan. My pressure relief failed and I was getting 100 PSI off my garden hose and my pipes were squealing. I got a few competitive quotes and M&EM were cheaper by half! The plumber brought the replacement part but the new version was too short so he had to go to Home Depot to get extension pipes. With all the extra labor and parts, he kept the promised quote. In the jungle of shady service providers, I may have just found a gem. Mike and Johnny worked together to solve our water pressure issue at a single shower head in the house. First they tried a cartridge, no luck. Then the conclusion was we needed a new mix valve. They found a suitable replacement, came back the next day and painstakingly replaced it. They even put the drywall piece they had cut out back in the wall and smoothed it over. It was in the garage and looks fine, so I don't have to call a dry walker after the fact. Here's the difference, I think: they tell you upfront the cost, regardless of time spent, unlike most plumbers who charge by the hour (as they try to figure it out), which can get ridiculously expensive, depending on how good a plumber they are. I highly recommend calling M&EM...at this point, I'm not looking anymore. This is one time when a Yelp referral actually turned out to be as good as their reviews, all of which are five stars for good reason. read more

Mike is a very nice guy and he did great work for us at a reasonable price. We had a leaking water heater which he took out and installed a tankless heater in its place. He also changed the pressure reducer coming into the house. He and his team spent about 7 hours over two days making sure everything was done well. We didn't have a drain for the condensation run-off and opted for a line going through the attic to the nearest drain. Mike did some research and found a pump to do the job and installed it. Our backyard hose bib fell off after our dogs were rough housing. Mike was called and he immediately lined us up and took on the job. It was clear he was an expert at the very thing I needed to get done which was solder on an extension to connect a new bib.
