Nope Blake's Coastal Nursery does not carry carnivorous plants but it's still an amazing nursery. Obviously the chickens will always be my favorite! Only if baby goats and chickens were together would it be better. I digress. The grounds looked awesome. I liked the fountain BY the chickens. I took a picture of this really beautiful woman sitting by the fountain. She really made the picture better. If you live in the area, your blessed with a nursery that has a great selection of plants, shrubs and small trees. Don't forget to check out the chickens.

They were able to ship the items to us since we did it on the last day. Shipping was fast too. The owner was so sweet and helpful. Had we not made our own pieces, I would have probably purchased the items she had for sale. I really liked the items because they were practical and not only decorative pieces. There were some unique flower vases for the wall and the photo holder were all things that are useable. We will for sure visit again when we are in town.

We travelled the coast for the next six days taking the flowers with us. By the time we left a week later the flowers looked as beautiful and fresh as the day they were delivered. Yes -- I'm always looking for a healthy African Violet -- it's about the only plant I can reliably grow.... However -- all his violets are from the same mother plant -- so all have the same color blooms! They're all very pretty, but one of the good bits about growing these little darlings is that there are SO MANY different flowers out there -- Singles, doubles, semi-doubles, triples. Pansy shaped. Daisy shaped. Cupped. Bell shaped. Ruffled. Wavey. Sparkled. Striped. Speckled. Spotted. Varigated -- bi-color, tri-color and every color -- and every color from green and yellow through white, pink, violet and blue -- all the way to new varieties that are almost black. Miniatures and standards. Perky and weeping. And every kind of leaf you can imagine -- So -- his 1 violet -- while lovely (and yes, I bought one) -- is sort of the tip of the African Violet iceberg. lol. He says his shop in Lincoln City has more stuff. Can't imagine how it could have much less.... I really think this must be a store more for landscapers -- so hardly fair to judge it as anything else. And he was very nice to the crazy lady looking for violets....

We had such a fun experience creating some pretty blown glass pieces together at the coast. We picked them up the following day after they cooled down overnight in their oven! We were very pleased with the whole experience and very happy how our pieces turned out. We will definitely do this again!
