They gave us a rough estimate but said they would send an offical estimate in the mail. My husband and I waited for two weeks, and finally called them to follow-up and were told 'We're really busy, we'll get the bid out to you soon.' Another couple weeks followed and we tried again and was told the same thing. Well, more than two months later and nothing - so I guess they didn't want to work with us.

Possibly the worst contractor I've used for anything. Job was to paint an aluminum fence that was…read moreoriginally powder coated. These independent contractor types are all a bit rough around the edges, but he seemed professional enough. Could talk the talk, right? I asked some very specific painting questions that he either 1) lied to my face or 2) is so ignorant about his profession that he gave me the wrong answer. Specifically, I inquired what setup he would use as I wanted to minimize overspray as well as match the powder coat 'texture' as closely as possible. I specifically expressed I wanted a HVLP turbine or LVLP setup to reduce overspray as much as possible. I asked directly if he was to use a setup like this and he assured me that this was his equipment and overspray would not be an issue. Low and behold, he shows up with a piston-powered "paint thrower" (the type that you hook to a 5 gallon bucket and paint the entire interior of a freshly-mudded house with). This is absolutely not what we discussed, nor the correct tool for the job, however at this point I had to let it go because I'd given my partner a bunch of grief about the project already. Flashing back, before the day of the job, he made me trim the shrubs around the fence (what I'd consider an excessive amount) so he could "get in there comfortably". He came by and "approved" my trim job, but then when he showed up that day, he made me trim more off because of whatever reason. So, I had to take time from my work day to deal with him. Lame, but everybody makes mistakes. Maybe chalk it up to poor communication, who knows? No job is perfect, right? So anyway, he shows up with a single helper who doesn't do much, kinda puppy dog follows him around. I find out later this is his wife. Okay, that's fine, no problem, I suppose. So, they start prepping and I'm inside as I was WFH that day. They finish prepping and begin painting, all is going fine, it seems. About halfway through the job, he sends his wife to talk to me because they ran out of paint. She informs me and I expected her to say "I'm headed to the store to get some more paint", but instead she asks me to run up to the store and buy more paint for them! I was about to lose it but I was able to maintain politeness and said nicely, "Uh..no; I told you I'm working right now...YOU can go get the paint to finish the job YOU'RE getting paid for." So anyway... Did they paint our fence? Yes. Did they use a "good enough" quality paint? Yes. Did they stumble at every point in the job? Absolutely. Would not hire again for any job. I absolutely regret going with the lowest bidder and ignoring that I know better. Definitely just a money grab with no concerns for craftsmanship or pride in his work. Just trying to get to the next check as fast as possible. 2.5/10

In fact a large amount was spilled on our deck and they attempted to cover the evidence with leaves. I overheard the crew talking about it! The owner sent out members of the same crew to attempt to remedy after we complained - he was not proactive at all. The crew cleaned some of the windows not all. But the deck is ruined. Owner was to have crew come back again but we have yet to hear anything. I would not recommend this firm to anyone.
