I love a good Indian restaurant and this is definitely one of my favorites. Food--9.9/10. OK I know this is a silly rating but hang in with me here. I'm a white woman married to a Indian man and I love Indian food. I cook it quite well so when I eat out for Indian food, I have very high expectations. Ironically, I have a much higher spice tolerance than my husband. But whenever he orders and ask for medium spice, it's exactly right. But whenever I order and ask for a medium spice it's nowhere near spicy enough. I don't know if that is just because I sound like I can't handle my spice, but it happens every single time. But getting onto the actual taste and quality of the food. Their Panera biryani is one of my favorites, though I do like their veg biryani more my husband first appear so we usually settle for paneer. It is perfectly cooked so fluffy and delightful and oh my goodness is it abundant. One $15 container will make at least four meals. My husband and I will get one box and share it for lunch or dinner and then put it away because it will be another lunch or dinner later. And it's not like we eat a little we eat a full plate and this box is stuffed to the brim. Service--8/10. My only complaint here is regarding service. It can take a while sometimes to pick up your order, especially when they first open. And I'm not saying it takes time for it to be available because I will often arrive and see it sitting on the shelf, but no one is at the front counter to check me out. I have honestly never dined in at this location so I can only address the service in the aspect of takeout orders. Atmosphere--10/10. It is a very centralized location and a nice strip mall with accessible parking and ample at that. The interior is quite nice and what you'd expect in an Indian restaurant with beautiful cultural pieces around the interior. So if you are looking for a place to eat in this would definitely be atmospherically a nice place. read more

I would give this place 5 stars but the service and attentiveness is always subpar. I have been here about 10 times and the service has always been the same. Have to grab the attention of the waitress/waiter to order, ask for anything extra and grab the bill. The reason why I come back is because the food is top notch. Maa Kitchen is consistently delicious. Leveraging traditional recipes; if you order a classic dish you will get the flavors and textures you'd hope for with no reinvention (this is a good thing). Where they are innovating is the broad selection of menu items, with Indian entrees and sides from all over the country, with every region considered. The restaurant is spacious with room for events, pretty lighting for date night, and nicely laid out large tables available for big family dinners. They have great house wines! The staff is friendly, helpful, attentive and is well versed in the menu (which is very modern and has great details and visuals). This is my family's favorite local Indian restaurant and my go to when out of town guests want authentic Indian food. read more

Maa's Kitchen has some really tasty food, especially their dosa selection, which is why I keep coming back. Unfortunately, the service during our recent visit left a lot to be desired. When we asked to place a to-go order in addition to our dine-in meal, the woman taking our order seemed visibly annoyed and made us feel like we were inconveniencing her. Their vegetable Pakora and the onion one are also so good, super fresh and flavorful. The Chicken Tikka Masala was rich and creamy, and the Butter Chicken was absolutely delicious. Everything I've tried so far has been amazing, and I honestly can't wait to go back and try more from their menu! Highly recommend this spot if you're craving authentic and satisfying Indian food. Me and my coworkers ordered a meal through DoorDash. It came so well prepared. Every single plate and sauces was wrapped to prevent leakage which clearly took so much time and effort so shout out to them for that The food once it arrived was still fresh and steaming the portions were gigantic the lamb dish that I ordered was so tender yet sweet I loved every single bit of it. Me and my wife visited this place for dinner. I must say it was very nice and a pleasant experience. As soon as we entered, we were greeted and made to seat right away. The food is good and I recommend trying their South Indian food like wada, idly and Dosa. For appetiser we ordered their Gobi 65 which was nice and crispy. We ordered their idly wada combo. Idly was soft and their medu wada was crispy and nice. Later for dinner my wife ordered their Rava masala dosa and I ordered their uttapam which was good. They give peanut chutney, coconut chutney and samabar which was all good. However, Rava dosa was extremely crispy which could have been bit softer and thicker. Finally, to finish our dinner we had their masala tea which was good. Their Ambiance could improve. They have a robotic server which is cool. Overall I recommend this place !!! Biggggg Biggggg Disaapointment, I ordered chicken 65 biryani, they completely messed up my order 1st of all replacing raita with salan which was supposed to be other vice versa. I had to go to pick it up again. I can ignore that as part of human error. Worse part was there was hadly any chicken in biryani it was just flavoured rice which I feel not worth paying 19 dollars. When I called this morning to report they were asking for picture as a proof, which i missed taking from my end. I couldnt call same time as we had it late night. The food was amazing and full of flavor. I felt the warmth from the spices and the sauces for the samosas was full of flavor. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very calm with modern architecture. Was craving some spicy indian food, so went here for the first time and loved it. Had the mixed veggie pakora (spice 3/5), veggie samosa and lamb vindaloo (spice 4/5). Loved it all. Heat level was on point and the chef was not kidding. I enjoyed the heat, however was sweating a good bit. It was nice tasty burn. Made it here with some true Indian friends that invited me. They did all the ordering to share with a level 4 spice; which was the perfect spot for somebody like me that likes a moderate type of spiciness. Great place for northern Indian food! If you're a fan of dosa, this is one of the best, and biggest! Literally. We also ordered the chicken tika and salmon tika and everything was so flavorful. Service was a little slow but, the restaurant was also fairly busy. Will definitely be back. read more

I've sat in and eaten, ordered to go and even had it delivered. The taste is continuously consistent. The flavor I'm looking for is always there. The busy parking lot and flow of people should tell you enough. Currently they're renovating but if you have a chance to eat in, you're in for a treat. Staff is always welcoming and attentive. It's great for family meals and they even have a nice selection of authentic frozen treats. My favorite items to order are the butter chicken, one of the paneers depending on my mood and garlic naan! The food is amazing. The process to get it is awful. You spend good money for the food. When you arrive for pick up they need all this proof that your picking up an order. Showing the order confirmation was not enough. I had to use an id and it gets worse each time. They treat you like a thief. I went outside to eat my food in the parking lot. To be clear, I have never actually entered this restaurant. I have, however, ordered doordash from Maa Kitchen dozens of times. It does not miss, ever. The food here is out of control good. My wife consistently goes for the paneer tikka masala and a garlic naan, and we share the samosas (which come with a bevy of sauces, including a killer green sauce we fight over). I tend to mix it up, and I can recommend: - chicken 65 biryani (really, any of the biryanis -- they're insanely good and a huge amount of food) - kadai lamb - chicken chettinad - hariyali chicken kebab - chicken pepper curry - naan are awesome (I'm partial to the green chili) I've had one dish here, a chicken curry, which arrived with the sauce a little broken and oily. other than that, excellent every time. I also want to salute their packaging skills -- they take the time to wrap everything super carefully, so little chance of spillage in transit. Why do we keep coming here? That is a very interesting question since there are literally 5 other Indian places within a stones throw distance. Its certainly not for the service or atmosphere. I guess we come back for the food, the food is good. The service is always very awkward and every time we come in its a whole new staff so its not the individual people that make it awkward its something about their training or management, i dont know. They seem timid to talk to you, you have to ask for everything and sometimes even flag down a server to take your order or refills when other times they refill your water after every sip. This visit they seemed short staffed and only 1 person on the floor. He was taking an order when we walked in, he did look up and nod at us to acknowledge us. Instead of seating us when he was done with the order he went and placed their lengthy order into the computer before seating us.. The atmosphere is what you would expect for a BBQ joint turned Indian, not much has changed from the original decor. The bathroom has no a/c so its like a sauna in there and the floor was slippers as if they mopped it with fryer oil. Its like that EVERY time we have been in. The placemats on the table were about Greece, i guess its educational but seems odd for an indian place. There are new signage on the table that showed up during COVID with a QR code to "order and pay" but they have never actually worked in the 2+ years they have been there. You cant order or even pull up an e-menu and when you try to pay it doesnt work either. I think what sealed the deal this time was I checked in on Yelp like a good Yelp Elite should. I was excited to get a Check-In deal for $2 off a menu item.. It says "show to owner or employee to have discount applied to your order". When the first guy came with the check i showed him the Yelp Coupon and he was clueless and went to get another guy, possibly a manager. The 2nd guy came over and looked at it and after a second said "oh we dont have that coupon anymore". Well its still on your Yelp profile so you DO have that coupon. He still would not honor it. Since we now have to drive all the way across town to eat here after we moved to Riverside I guess we now no longer need to waste the gas and we will start to go to one of the other great options along Baymeadows. read more

The Tandoori platter is too die for! I'm a distance runner and sometimes, I just want a LOT of meat. I order mine medium which is spicy enough to be fun, but not so spicy that it isn't enjoyable. There's shish kebab, chicken hariyali (the green chicken), tandoori shrimp, and tandoori chicken and I like to eat it with rice and the mint chutney (which cools the heat a bit). I got off work at 9 pm and given that it's Jax, not a lot of places were open - but you can always count on Maa to be there and take your order with a smile. In only 10 minutes, I was on my way with this wonderful meal. If you are ordering for a group and need a dessert, I can't recommend the Gulab Jamun enough. They're basically Indian spiced donuts soaked in cardamom and rose sugar syrup. read more

One get's the feeling that there are more important people that must be attended to (which could be true!) and that is never a good feeling. Bottom line: Food is not bad, the atmosphere feels fancier than it is, prices are a bit high for portion size. Staff are not un-friendly but are busy working and you'll recognize that. We were drawn to Maa's by the beautiful aroma wafting from their establishment. Initially, we planned to visit the restaurant next door, but we couldn't resist the tangy curry smells inviting us to see what was the source. The service was amazing coming from our young server and we were in and out in less than 45 minutes. We were seated and immediately brought water (not iced) and the clean menus. (Everything including the restrooms and the back kitchen we could see were spotless!) Our server provided a great recommendation of what he enjoyed eating and even recommended the South Indian style korma chicken when we said we loved korma. I HIGHLY recommend the chicken South Indian style korma and the paneer Tulsa masala. We had roti in the side with chai tea and Double Ka Meetha dessert to finish off the meal. Mama kitchen is another one of the Indian options in Baymeadows area- next to some other better, in my opinion greats. They removed the buffet and lunch platter which is what made the experiences great for me to get diverse proteins and curries. Prices for entrees are steep with not huge portions. Added costs for flavored naans. Service is pretty much I-scan with app pay and menu. I again wish I could work with a server to get guidance on what preferences are good but instead chose myself. Food was good but service a little weak. I was needing water with hot Indian food and waiter was nowhere to be seen.

Firstly I'd like to state this isn't the nicest establishment. There are other more cosy Indians nearby (literally 0.5 mile away). However the food here is just incredible. For example I was at the competitor Indian nearby and asked for tikka masala level 6 and stressed INDIAN HOT. I don't even break a sweat and don't have any real taste. So I went to Maa. Asked for the exact same thing and I could hardly talk it burned and burned just as a good Indian should!!! I'm saying this as a good thing. Maa have amazing staff and very helpful.
