Marissa & Dominique , ( hopefully I spelt the names right ) were really sweet, helpful, clean, radiant smiles the room was lighted up with those two and they always checked up on me and my s/o . If I could tip those two I would , they went the extra mile and way more nice and better than Arden fair mall's Mac team. Wow -- so many negative reviews! I thought the staff was alright. My friend and I were just glancing and we had one of the ladies help us. She was cool, she taught me about applying foundation. Picked the right color for me, told me the steps I needed to do in order to apply the makeup correctly. She even helped me write down the products I needed. I ended up wanting to purchase just the foundation. She was quick and efficient. She found out that my shade was not available so she ended up calling the Nordstrom MAC counter for me and they had my shade available. read more

I love this MAC store! I don't enjoy going to the mall but this MAC store is located near a mall exit. I made an appointment on a weekday morning hoping to get my makeup done without the store being too busy. Good thing I didn't plan this on the weekend, which I could've easily been in there for hours. I met Vanessa and she was helpful and friendly even before I told her about being referred by my sister. I was asked a couple of questions about my skin type, the type of look I'm looking for and then gave me her suggestions. I told her I was looking for a medium brown smokey eye look and she delivered just that. It didn't look caked on or too much and the makeup lasted all day! I should've planned the appointment on a day I was going out. She also helped me write down all the products that she used on me so I would remember the next time. I haven't used their foundation as of yet but I do love the quality and colors of the eyeshadows and lip glosses. I noticed the staff was greeting all of the customers as they walk in as they did to me when I walked in no matter how busy they are or if they are working on someone's makeup. You may even hear some interesting stories as to how they got to doing makeup, working at MAC and I can tell they enjoy working there while describing different types of makeup and looks for my skin type/color. I would suggest making an appointment preferably on the weekday if you need more time with a makeup artist as it does get super busy on the weekend which is to be expected. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! My husband purchased a gift card for $100. The MAC associate gave him a store credit instead of a gift card. I have four young boys so in-store shopping is not enjoyable for anyone. Since a "store credit" was issued, I am not able to redeem the gift card online. I went into the MAC store where it was purchased at the MAC Location in the Galleria with the receipt from the transaction and the credit card statement showing proof of purchase (it even says the store name, location, and store number on the credit card statement) and asked for assistance to sort this out. The two associates working on 6/24 at 11:00 am at the Roseville, Ca MAC store (one male and one female with limited English) were extremely rude, unworkable and said they would get fired if they assisted with 1. Transferring the store credit with proof of purchase to a gift card (as it should have been issued to begin with because store credit should only be issued when returning an item without a receipt, not for a customer that pays in full $100 for a gift card) or 2. Acknowledge the online MAC Lover 25% off sale that was going on in June so I could use the store credit. I even showed an email that says the sale was going on online and in store. The female associate informed me that they do not acknowledge online sales, despite the poster on their door saying the sale was going on in store. This location is a scam. They're issuing store credit when customers are paying in full for gift cards and refusing to acknowledge sales. read more

I'm not normally an all in MAC girl, but on this particular day after leaving Sephora I noticed they were running a special for 25% off the entire store. I love a really good coverage, full face, lashes and all but not for everyday. If you're not familiar with Mac their makeup is basically bullet proof against oil, water, and everything in between. The studio fix line from here is a whole other playing field when it comes to foundation. Waterproof, full coverage, 16 - hour wear this makeup doesn't play around! In fact after using only Mac for a couple months, I found myself after every night turning my face into what felt like a carwash. Using my Clarisonic brush not once but twice just to get all the layers off. So when I walked in I stuck with lipsticks and bronzers on this trip. All the girls here are so friendly and extremely helpful. Right when I walked in, they were all quick to help me find what I was looking for and made sure to let me know about all the deals going on. I was really surprised the music wasn't blaring like almost every Mac store does. Not having to repeat myself three times when looking for a primer and it being mistaken for liner, was a nice change. I also noticed that they have two seperate rooms towards the back for those who are getting their makeup done. It's completely closed and separate from the public eye, so you can finally get your makeup done in peace. You know without having shoppers constantly walk by while your scary contour lines gets blended out. They also had every single product in stock. I'm not sure if it was because of the sale going on, but it's always a bonus to be able to get everything in one visit. It's also nearly impossible to keep a makeup store clean but this location was nice and tidy with everything. Also dont forget to save all your empty containers of your makeup from here. For every 6 containers you bring back, as part of their "Back to MAC" program you will receive a free lipstick of your choice. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE AND THEIR RUDE, SNOBBY, EMPLOYEES. Don't give them a dime! After the worst customer service ever at any store we ended up at Nordstrom and my friend spent over $100 on Bobbi Brown products because unlike MAC Bobbi Brown sales people actually wants to sell her products to anyone who'll buy them - what a concept. The makeup artists for Bobbi Brown, Tami is a delight and will help any and all customers who stand at her counter, and I guarantee you, you will look fantastic when you leave and you will gladly buy the products from the friendly staff. If you are lucky enough to be in the store when Tami s there be sure to have her do your makeup she is fantastic at giving you the understated Bobbi Brown look and it takes way less products to accomplish than with other lines so in the long run it will cost you less. No snobby employees at this cosmetic counter. Laura Mercier is another fantastic line sold at Nordstroms that also has very friendly and helpful staff. I have tried to purchase MAC products in the past but all my experiences with the counter staff inside various department stores have been so disappointing I refused to buy anything from them. I know they are trying to be a "hip" cosmetic line but apparently that also includes being rude and snobby which is interesting coming from a 20 year old girl who probably still lives at home with her parents - that's pretty hip! Puzzling behavior but consistent with every store that carries MAC so not isolated to one store it's clearly something MAC is training their employees to do. I thought maybe this new stand-alone store would be different, but no it's not. I went into this store with a friend who wanted to purchase two eye shadow colors (she already knew the exact colors she wanted and really wanted those exact colors so it had to be the MAC store), and was also ready to buy some brushes to go with the eye shadow, so she would have spent upwards of $100 or more, but the girls behind the counter absolutely ignored her. They all looked so ready to help with their makeup belts loaded up with brushes but apparently that is a costume and they really don't want to sell any products they only want to look and act cool, too cool to help customers (a super business plan - look cool but don't try to sell any product even if the customer has their cash out and is begging for help). My friend looked, and looked, and looked, touched products, looked some more, she even asked for help but the staff ignored her. The store was pretty empty and the majority of the girls were just standing around with nothing to do but acting busy so it was pretty clear they were uninterested in helping my friend. Apparently MAC trains their sales people to ignore customers especially women over the age of 30. My friend said loudly "you just lost $100 in sales because you refuse to help me" No a word from the girls behind the counter. Just glares. WOW! Talk about the worst customer service ever. I think people go into MAC with unrealistic expectations. The store is ALWAYS busy. The girls are always trying their best to get to everyone and give the current customer their undivided attention. Every time I have come here someone has always said they would be right with me. When my turn comes, I am always helped and my questions are answered. Be realistic people.. They are not going to have people standing around waiting for you.. Be patient and they WILL take care of you. My most recent experience finally made me decide to write a review. I came in about 10 minutes to close needing a quick color match. I had no makeup on because 1. I was out 2. I wanted the best match possible. I knew I had limited time because they were closing but figured they would look and say.. Okay. You need "blank". Done deal. Carissa went above and beyond! Of course, I walked in and both girls were helping someone. I looked around and waited patiently while they finished with their current customers. When Carissa finished she asked what she could do for me. I told her what I needed.. By this time they were basically suppose to be closed. She told me to sit down and went to work matching me. She asked me questions about my skin care routine and talked me through various options. She stayed past closing in order to help me and make sure I had everything I needed and all of my questions answered. I felt so bad for keeping her there late but never once did she seem rushed or annoyed. I have been, and will continue to be, a loyal MAC customer. I will return to Roseville to see Carissa and remind you to be patient when going into the store. They are trying their best to get to you and give everyone a great experience. read more

Still one star but let me help validate my original review. I am a pro card member. I have been a freelance artist for over 10 years. I still dislike the Roseville location and only go there when I am in town from NYC as I have transplanted to the east coast but will fly back on occassions to visit. Plus tax is cheaper in California so I stock up my kit accordingly. My skin is thicker and I put up with a lot of bs but the customer service still needs help here. That's one thing I will not tolerate. So go ahead and feel bad as they do their 30th smokey eye for the day but no one appreciates to be a paying customer by an annoyed mua who needs to hit their sales goal. read more

This store was HORRIBLE! The big main mac store in galleria. I was so embarrassed about my makeup I ran to the nordstroms mac and had them wipe my makeup off n redo it. I asked for simple smokey eye and she piled on so much eyeshadow and teal pigmant! Thats not simple whatsoever, she cut the lashes too short and the lashes were clumped and glued together. She did my makeup like hers was done instead of doing it the way I asked. The service sucked! She left every 5 minutes to help other people, she started another makeup appointment when she wasnt done with my appointment. I will never go back to this store! With the overwhelming assortment of cosmetic options, it's curious how a person can ever decide on one?!? I had stayed away from MAC Cosmetics, because I was told that it was the make-up for stage actors (thick and cakey). Although, over the last few years, I think MAC has grown into a line that can be for the "every day" woman. They provide a variety of foundation types (liquid, powder, both), an assortment of colors and cleansing products. Quick tips for any MAC store: 1. You have to make an appointment to have the full face done. Be prepared to be there a minimum of one hour. (Note: the person doing your make up will most likely be distracted by other customers and will assist them in the middle of your appointment. It's quite frustrating, so just be patient). The full face has a requirement of a $50 purchase. You'll end up spending that much on a brush and eye shadow. Just deal with it...It's worth it! 2. Instead of paying the $50 and having your entire face done, you have the option to ask for a "touch up". The associate will provide with options that would look good on you and show you one or two of them. You will get tips and different color ideas and it won't cost you anything, unless you buy what they recommend! 3. If you buy false eye lashes, you are not able to go back in on another occasion and have them put back on again. Even if you bought that them at a MAC store, it won't matter. It's for hygienic reasons. Therefore, pay attention and buy the glue with the lashes when they put them on. 4. The everyday shopper should avoid the store/counter any time around a school dance or prom and most Saturday's. It gets a little out of control. I'm pleased with the services and options MAC Cosmetics has to offer. I purchase one of their brush sets each year, have my make-up done or touched up at least twice a year to avoid being stagnant in my application and get new tips, and I take advantage of their recycling program. While you're getting your make-up done next time, ask the associate what it takes to get to that point in their career. To hear the testing and training these women/men go through to be an associate at a MAC store is pretty incredible. If I were to try and explain their system, I would not do them justice. Just know that you are in good hands and they know what they are doing and talking about! FYI...Vanessa at the Galleria MAC Store is AMAZING!!! They would get more stars if they had more people able to assist customers. read more

On 12/12/15 I went to MAC maybe an hour or two before closing time. Selena helped answer all my questions about an eye shadow I wanted and how to apply the make up really well. She was super helpful and patient with my mom & I as we bombarded her with product questions! Thanks to her I have discovered a few new products that I like. While she was helping us one VERY rude customer approached her with an attitude demanding for an eye shadow brush to test out a color. The customer was very snobby & honestly I personally wouldn't have given her my make up brush to use the way she spoke to her however Selena was very professional about it and handled her in a proper manner all while still helping me out. After she clocked out another person was able to help me with the last of my questions (I forgot her name) but she was helpful too! Great job MAC Roseville you have amazing staff! I live closer to Arden but I'll make that drive to Galleria since you guys have great service! read more

I love Mac's Kohl Eyeliner, but I dread coming here each time. I came in on a Saturday afternoon so I already expected it to be packed and had to wait. My expectations were met and I did not even receive a greet. A quick hello would have been the least you could do for basic customer service and buys you more time. All I needed was the eyeliner so I started to walk around to locate it and I guess I was annoying Adriana, who supposedly was the only one on the sales floor. Why would you only staff one sales person on a Saturday? She yelled at me and said if I needed something then she would get it for me. By that time I was beyond annoyed and wanted to leave, but really wanted the eyeliner. I stood around until the cashier saw my annoyance and came up to me to assist me. I wish I had gotten her name. The customer service at this location is really disappointing. In all fairness it is a very small store, and usually very busy which may account for the frustration of its employees. However, if I am coming in, it is to make a purchase and many items are not available to grab and head to the register with, unless you get assistance. From my experience I am usually half assed greeted, dodged, or just completely ignored which is very uncomfortable. I recently had an experience where I had some items placed on hold at the MAC store because Nordstrom's MAC counter was sold out. To be honest I almost decided to have Nord's order it because it would have prevented me from coming into this store. Upon arrival I did what I was told and headed straight to the register. The girl working the register looked up, made eye contact, and continued whatever she was doing. I did not get bothered by this at all and instead assumed that she was finishing something up. A customer then completely walked in front of me in line and proceeded to ask a question which the lady answered. Once again, not bothered by this assuming this was the customer being helped prior to me walking up. However, yet again another customer blatantly walks in front of me to check out and the girl starts assisting her as if I wasn't there. I finally asked if I was in line or not because at this point I was getting upset. I mean we made eye contact, you've seen me standing here for 5+ minutes and you've helped two other customers?!? She then replied "Yes you are in line but this lady had a question and this lady has items at the front counter." Maybe if she would have asked me she would have known I had items waiting too... When she finally got to me she didn't even have my items on hold. She had to have someone pull them for me. Which required me waiting even longer. Once again I understand being overwhelmed by a busy store, but after being in customer service for years I know how easy it is to simply acknowledge a customer let them know you will be right with them. read more

I love this location! I know that Mac has reputation for bad customer service and I have experienced that first hand but NEVER at this location. I used to live in Huntington Beach and any surrounding store you'd be lucky to even have someone notice you after being in the store for 45 minutes. At this store I am always greeted immediately and they always ask if they can help me with anything. If I do need help they are always so friendly and seem legitimately interested in finding exactly what I need. I will never go to another Mac store again!!! read more

This mac store is not bad, I have been to many, jersey being the worst! the girls in here are all nice and the guy that works in there is the BOMB! Hes super friendly and will help you figure out stuff that looks good and other alternatives to try! The sanitation of the products and brush sanitation here is not the best so I never try anything on my face, I will usually just swatch it on my arm. This location is super busy which is why I can probably see all the bad reviews, because those girls are always swamped! read more

Scheduled to have make up applied for a wedding. My make-up artist was Ms. Paula. She is absolutely wonderful. I was transformed into a super model. I received so many compliments on my make-up. I look fantastic and not overly done. I will definitely have to have her apply my make-up again. Great atmosphere and environment. Was private. I hate I had to wash my face as I would have love to continue the look (which lasted all day and night; till the wee hours of the morning). :-) read more

This was my first visit to a MAC store and it was the BEST! I was intimidated to go in since I am an older woman and had unfounded concerns that I wouldn't get the help I needed. Was I ever wrong! The minute I walked into the store I was greeted kindly by Jessica who went on to spend almost 2 hours doing a makeover on me and I felt beautiful when I left. She was so sweet and complimentary and made me feel so welcome. The other girls that were in the shop were equally friendly and treated the other customers with great care. I ended up buying most of the product that was used on me but it wasn't a pressure sale. Jessica let me choose what I wanted. She won't down the instructions so I would remember how to use the product when I got home. I would highly recommend this store and a special thanks to Jessica for her expertise and kindness. Recently had my make up done for a wedding at this location. When I first arrived for my appointment I was very disappointed with the service. The two girls who greeted my sister and I were extremely rude and unwelcoming. Had my appt. not been with someone else who was not yet there (we were about 5-10minutes early), I absolutely would have left and done my own makeup. I don't like being treated like I am an inconvenience and the employee has better things to do than help a customer while they are on the clock. Another drawback was the price... They charged $50 to get your make up done and I'm not quite sure why it's free at the Nordstrom counter as long as you buy at least one thing, but not here. The aspect that saved this review from being 1 star was Nina and Ashley. Nina did my sisters make up, while Ashley did mine. They were both very sweet, professional and did a great job on our make up. I highly recommend them. I don't get my make up done often and when I do I come use MAC artists, but after this experience, I would hesitate to come back to this location/store. read more
