I was…read morereally excited to see that they had a booth at the Cirque du Soleil show at the Santa Ana Star Center so that I could talk to them more about what they do. I wheeled up in my wheelchair and was immediately disappointed. They just would not speak to me. I explained that I had been referred to talk to them and they just said "okay" and continued to ignore me. There were two people manning the booth and they would not even hand me a brochure. Instead, they continued to hand brochures to other people walking by, talking about getting donations. I had to strain myself from my wheelchair to get my own brochure and sat there for an awkward several minutes while they talked over my head to people walking by while they just ignored me. It wasn't until I gave up and my husband wheeled me away that the woman said to call them and watch someone else's lesson and see if I would be a fit for them, with a tone of voice like she knew I wouldn't be. Too bad because I had family ready to make a sizable donation and I was going to be private pay.

They used to be client orientated. Now it's all about the money. My daughter is special needs with…read moremental health disorders as well. One day the put her on a scale without my knowledge and told her she couldn't ride anymore. They have veterans who ride, that weigh more than her! Twuana Raupp the owner did this personally and humiliated my daughter. She has PTSD and now is quite upset. She was with them for several years. Mike Raupp the husband also likes to gossip about the volunteers and previous employees, sharing detailed and private information. So BEWARE! They are not equipped to deal with the handicap community, and instead have focused their efforts on money, money, money. It's a shame, because if you don't give them $$$ you don't exist in their eye 12/21/2018. Despite their comments, my daughter was not treated with any form of privacy or concern. I stand by my review. My google review was done when my daughter first started riding at LT. As I stated earlier in this review, their concept of client centered is now $$ centered.

For some reason every time I go in this location I find at least one treasure. Before virus hit I purchased two Shell Lamps at 9.99 each. including shades. When I went home I looked up and they are Safavieh and sell for $80 more or less EACH. Wow and they are gorgeous in our bedroom. Also purchased a "yard art" metal item - 5.99. If you went to some where like Jackalope I guarantee it would be minimum $100. Like all thrift stores inventory moves quickly so if you love it and are "thinking about it" go for it and grab it. Also note the staff here are exceptional. So very nice. This is a non profit so please make sure you are super nice to the folks!

Locker 505 is an incredible local non-profit whose main goal is to care for homeless kids and…read moreyouth. They provide clothes, shoes, socks, and underwear all for free to those in need. They accept donations of gently used clothes/jackets, and new socks/underwear. Whenever I go through my closet for items I don't need anymore, I make sure to donate here. They partner with any of the Star Bright Cleaners here in town, so you can drop off your stuff at the cleaners, and they'll make sure everything is taken care of to pass on to Locker 505.

Usually, I park my car and run a bag or box of items over to the worker outside and there has never been an issue, they've always been kind, accepted my donation and then I go inside and shop. Yesterday the young lady working out there yelled out as I was walking towards her with my donation, telling me that if I want to make a donation then I need to get back in my vehicle and drive it over so as to be seen on camera. I can be seen on camera walking it over. She did not want to accept my donation and that's good because I was no longer in the mood to give it! I brought it to ARC thrift store down on Coors/Sequoia. They gladly accepted my donation when I walked it up to them and always have always been courteous. I will make my donations there in the future since it is so close to my home. I don't need to be ordered around by someone at Goodwill when I'm MAKING A CHARITABLE DONATION! A smile and a thank you would be the proper way to accept a donation!
