Turns out, they have attracted more and more people to that part of the centre, always a good thing. Try their sesame balls filled with green bean paste, crispy, bouncy and savoury sweet. I got myself 4 of them at one time and gave my family each 1. Turns out, most of my family weren't present... so I ate them all. Too bad. This place has something for everyone. From donut twists with cinnamon sugar to double sausage buns, chicken curry puffs and garlic naan breads! What is this fusion bakery to the extreme? Don't worry though, most of it tastes really nice. They even have cute little mini hamburgers that are 2 bites worth. They don't charge an arm and a leg for a baked good, and they even have cakes/cheesecakes and sweets in the counter or to order. This is a great little place to get a snack between lunch and dinner or breakfast and lunch, or for brunch for that matter. Try it out, some of the combinations may be a bit absurd sounding, but give it a go. Your taste buds will thank you for it. This bread tastes... sweet?

There was no one else in the store so i would have expected some sort of acknowledgement. I did not feel welcome at all. I'm so glad it exists, there's not much else in the way of high quality food and coffee in the Lockyer Valley but this cafe certainly sets the bar high. Cheese, steak and bacon pie was lovely, I'm not sure if they're made of premises but they taste like they've been handmade with care and that means a lot to me. The coffee is brilliant too. I hope to get here one day before breakfast ends to try the eggs Benedict. The cafe has lovely couches to read and relax as well as in door and outdoor dining. You can buy all sorts of wonderful organic and local products in the store. I love what they've done with the place and the pricing is very reasonable.

The tired old place got a facelift but no legacy treasure was lost; the average bread made way for a great range of breads, pastries, cakes and hot savouries. The pies are really good - especially the steak and tomato, which my firend has regularly when he needs to eat lunch on the run. Best of all for those allergic to bakeries, these dudes make a really goood range of gluten free breads and cakes. They keep some range on the shop floor, or you can order ahead. Gluten free seedy loaves start at about $5.00.

Recently I've tried both the marbled cheesecake and the New York cheesecake and neither of them have been much chop - the New York cheesecake in particular had that sharp taste that only really synthetic flavouring can deliver. Weirdly enough (and the reason for the 3 stars) I seem to quite like their other desserts. I was at a party recently where someone brought out a Cheesecake Shop pavlova and it was giant, crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside and generously topped with crap loads of real cream and fresh fruit. I also recently had a chocolate cake from them and although I'm not a huge fan of chocolate cake I could tell this one had merit. So for me, I'll avoid them for cheesecakes, but pop in when I'm craving a pav.

The quality of food here is uniform with that of all other Cheesecake Shops I've visited, so I won't comment on that. Instead, I'll give you a few pointers about this store in particular. Parking on the street is tough. Traffic thrives on Waterworks Road, and there's a side-street beside the store you can park alongside. However, a lot of people tend to rat-race up this street and if you want to turn right onto Waterworks Road from the side street when you leave, good luck. The traffic won't allow it during busy times. Noonan's BP is located a quick jump across this side street on the same side of Waterworks Road as The Cheesecake Shop. The Noonan's BP complex has a store beside it with parking that isn't controlled by Parking Nazis. This store was once a DVD/Video shop and is now Campbell Newman's home base. There's usually at least one park free, typically more. As to the service here, it depends on who you get. The last time I came here (to buy a Black Forest Cake for my father) I was served by a middle-aged gent who was extremely friendly, helpful, and ready to chat to whomever came in. (Not in an annoying way, more of a charming "I'm a nice person who's not trying to sell you anything" kind of way. I mean, you're inside the store and it's not exactly a place you're going to visit unless you intend to buy cake anyway, so there's no sales push.) The time prior to this I went to get a cake for my sister and was served by a female who was less friendly and more automatic in her responses, which was fine because I wanted to get in and out of there.

My only complaint used to be that they didn't open on a Saturday morning but I've heard that's recently changed and I look forward to giving breakfast a red hot go there. Lunch menu is pretty extensive. They serve classic cafe options. Sandwiches, toasties, wraps, fries, soups etc. They have a pretty extensive range of sweets as well. They usually have some kind of drink special on the board behind the counter. Like strawberry lemonade or sweet berry iced teas which I think is nice change from just your usual soft drink/juice/flavoured water you pick from the fridge. Stops me from getting a Tiro every time. The staff are quite friendly and the service is usually very fast. You don't have to wait long for your coffee or meals. You have the choice of indoor or outdoor seating and it is very open. It's a good space for families. Parking can be difficult as it is street only and there's a fair bit of construction around there at the moment. But it's free parking so you win some, you lose some. It's a great place to swing through for a quick take away coffee and sandwich. If you eat in the meals are alright, not the single greatest thing you'll ever eat. Expect your standard cafe fare and you shouldn't really walk away too disappointed.
