They were more than patient with my poor Italian pronunciation and let me pick out a few items to enjoy. I don't think tourists normally go here because most tourists stay at a hotel and can't enjoy a fresh self-prepared meal. Walking in around 9:30am on a Saturday morning there were a handful of early shoppers though not enough to make it crowded. There are about 20-25 total vendors, butchers, grocers, bakeries, convenience, florist, juice bar and clothing/accessories shops. A couple ethnic stores (Latin American and E Asian) from what I could tell. This is located in a less touristy part of town so prices looked overall pretty reasonable. There's not a lot of places to sit and enjoy any drinks/take away food, though there are a couple picnic tables outside and you could potentially pick somewhere along some stairs in the open square area next to the market if you need.

Whenever I want to make a whole roast chicken I make sure to come here. It's just not the same and my bf can always tell the difference even if I try to fib! Our family loves to use the polpette to make mini hamburgers. Only one of the guys speaks a little English, so I suggest prepping your Italian or better yet grab an Italian to help you. The place is tiny and often has as least a couple people in line, be prepared for a wait of up to 15 mins. Their also pricey and only accept cash. But it's all worth it!

This Esselunga is located within a mall, which I have to say is a new one for me, but the location was good for us to walk to and from our apartment and they had a nice variety of items available for purchase. Staff was nonexistent but we were able to find most of what we wanted without any assistance.

Candy and snack items include Whoppers, an assortment of candy bars, 'Bertie Bott's every flavor beans', Twinkies, those tiny powdered sugar covered donuts, flaming hot Cheetos, HOT salsa and cheese sauce to dip your chips. Some of the available grocery items include evaporated milk, pumpkin pie filling, cranberry sauce, cake mixes and frosting, salad dressings, jerky (dried meat), pickles, pancake mix, marshmallow 'Fluff' and 'Quick' chocolate milk powder. Although not an American item, they also have 'Vegemite'. Even though prices are higher than in a grocery store 'state side', it's nice to have the availability of grocery items to make recipes that would otherwise be unavailable. It's also a nice way for an Italian to get a taste of some American foods, or to remember some items they tried while on vacation.
