Went to Macforum where I had to leave my computer for nearly two weeks. My computer was purchased in the US, so I had to negotiate with US service representatives to cover costs of repair (sans AppleCare), hence the delayed work time. When I went to pick-up my computer, it worked fine. However, the adapter still wasn't being recognized.
Sophie and her manager stayed an extra hour in the store while a US customer support person gave them a code to complete the adapter replacement. Also, Jim Whiteford who does the technical repairs, communicated about the status of my computer and steps that needed to be taken with humor, softening the inconvenience.
