My kids wanted to help me write this review. They are 4 and 6 years old. This establishment is located in Ohlone Village Shopping Center near Mission Pizza and Spices. We signed up for their free 1 month trial classes for little tigers. The classes are high energy, the teachers motivate the kids in a kind, but authoritative manner, and the kids respond! From the very first class, teachers all called my kids by their names, impressing me that even though there were a lot of kids, they made an effort to personalize the lesson. My daughter (6) is shy and the first class surprised her in that the class was a little loud (kids are expected to shout "yes sir, no sir"). She was unsure of shouting like the other kids. My son (4) jumped right in and he was going full blast the entire class. There was always one teacher sticking by my kids to make sure they knew it was ok, and he showed them what to do. The teachers were all encouraging and complimented the kids appropriately. My daughter said today "I LOVE the martial arts classes. I like Master Nile. I practice at home just like Master Nile said to do. Tae Kwon Do is one of my favorite things to do. I can't wait to go back." My son said "I love punching and kicking." In addition to a giving my kids a great workout, I was hoping the classes would help my daughter's confidence and my son's ability to follow directions. Today, only after 3 classes, my daughter was shouting the loudest of all and my son was following the Master's instructions and staying focused. It's clear the teachers know how to work with kids. My boys H&R have been attending for 3 years. They hate organized sports so this was the best way I could get them to exercise. I really appreciate that they also teach about morals and character. Part of the testing process is you can request them to speak with your child about areas in their life they need to improve. I think the price is also best in Fremont, you get a discount for annual payment and siblings. I really don't understand the reviewer who said it's not family friendly. My friend's family who attend loved it so much for their kids that the parents also joined and now they are a family of 5 black belts! Attended this school for 7 years from 2006-2013 achieving a 2nd degree. I've seen this place change a lot, whether it's the different students I see and even physically the school got expanded making certain events like meditation camp a lot less cramped. It was a great experience and I have very fond memories of this place and what I've done. I do check up on the school through social media every once in awhile and it appears that most of my classmates I went up the ranks with have either surpassed me going into 3rd degree , my seniors getting 4th, or at least walked out with something they are proud of like I did. This establishment is top notch in developing kids mentally, meanwhile injecting fun and enjoyment throughout the class. I am very pleased with our experience at Mach Martial Arts in Fremont. I phoned sometime last week to inquire about classes for my 5 year old son and spoke with Master Nile. His friendly and courteous demeanor was very inviting as he answered all questions pertaining to the program they offer. In addition, I was very happy to hear that my son would be able to begin the Little Tigers class right away. We arrived about 15 minutes before the 6:15pm class to fill out registration and again were greeted in a very friendly manner. The forms were very straightforward and we were given a schedule for the month's classes. I am very happy that this school offers a month-long free trial period to ensure that you and your child want to continue with their program. Once the class began, Master Nile introduced and welcomed my son and another new member to the class. For the entire 30 minute session I was able to see how great this class was going to be for my son and our family. His smile said it all! Students going for their blackbelt can stay with their parents during the overnight trip and then join the group for the hike in Lake Tahoe in the morning. We are now back at Mach Martial Arts. This is one class that my 6 year old will never miss! The class is full of energy ...the 30 minutes is non-stop fun and learning. The instructors are very interactive, keep the kids focussed, discipline in a very friendly way, teach good values. It's not only about taekwondo forms, but also overall development of the student. I have seen my son's confidence grow leaps and bounds. His focus has also improved. Other activists like breaking competition, parents night out, skipping contest break the monotony and keep the students excited and eager. Master Nile is an awesome instructor. Kids love him! One thing tho, is that as the students advance in forms, they don't practice the older forms and hence forget. All in all ..
