There are loads of retail greenhouses in Connecticut, and I have visited many of them, big and small. But none are as delightful as Mack and Twine Farms in Torrington. While M & T has but two long greenhouses, it also has lots of outside benches with all kinds of plants. But this only begins to describe their fantastic offerings of annuals, perennials, succulents, exotics and vegetable plants. They come in all sizes, from large pots to small dishes, handy-dandy plugs to gorgeous hanging baskets. The "eye candy" is the dizzying array of some unusual varieties, specimens and the creativity of plantings; plus there are some neat accessories, too! Walked into Mack and Twine yesterday and there were two employees behind the counter, the owners. Neither one siad hello, good morning nothing. Can I help you find Something? And when I walked out after not being able to find what I was looking for, neither one said thanks for coming in, have a great day, nothing. This happend the last three times I was there!!!!!!! and this was my final time there. I miss Walnut Hill soooo much. Went to Camps!!!! read more
