I moved to New Hamburg a little over 3 years ago, until that time I never really ever shopped at No Frills, it wasn't for any particular reason other than there was never one nearby that was convenient enough for me to shop at, even when I moved to New Hamburg my first instinct was to shop at Sobey's. I slowly started going to No Frills to buy the odd thing here and there, after a while I felt a comfortable vibe when shopping there, they eventually won me over and I have been shopping there steady for close to 3 years now.
After today and the way I was treated I will never shop there again, I went in to do my shopping, now because I am on a fixed income I do not get to shop very often, so it may have been a few weeks since I have been in there, and like I always do I went to the self-checkout and noticed there were no bags there. so I asked the teller about the bags and she then tells me I have to tell her how many I need, which of course at this point I do not know how many I will need that is one of the reasons I use self-checkout because I have a hard time with perception and I always ended up telling the cashier a number higher then I needed and being on a fixed income every nickel does count for me.
So now i have this counter clerk i dont know what to call her probably 1/3 my age or less telling me i have to tell her how many bags i need, i told her politely i dont know how many i will need i wont know until i ring everything in and place them in bags and count them which is what i have been doing for the last 3 years and she rudely turns to me and says well thats how its done now you have to tell me first and i will ring it in for you on the computer and then i will give them to you and i again told her i have no clue how many it will be, and that is why i come to self checkout, and her responce at this time is well thats not my problem, which in turn now has frustrated me and i scowled back at her and said fine then i may as well go shopping somewhere else and she responds with thats fine see you later, i was like so shocked i could not beleive she was talking to me that way.... so after i calmed down i gave her a number for the bags and she rings it in and as i expected i over estimated and when i mentioned that to her she says thats not my problem. that is just rude and uncalled for I will not go back again and I will drive the extra distance and take my business back to Walmart where they know how to treat and respect the customer. I mean if a few nickels are going to break the store then they may as well close now. read more
