Nice fast bakery in the area. Good coffee and fresh orange juice. The bread selection was very vast. The quiche was also a nice breakfast item to get. Good place to stockpile before a long delayed flight. Service here is really fast.

Incredible spot to have breakfast at! There's a lot of seating in the space and sitting near the open window facing the street was a romcom moment while we waited for our food. We ordered the CATE sandwich (divine!), the banana nut bread (a slice weighed about half a pound) and the ham & cheese brioche. I also ordered a vanilla latte and it may have been the best one I've had during this trip. Staff were helpful with suggestions on what to order and pick up was easy. It was easy to transport back to the hotel and if we had another day in Seattle, we'd come back to try more!

It is a pretty good spot, was actually two steps away from our Airbnb. The pastures were really flavorful and they had a HUGE selection of them, but sweet pastries were a little dry in my opinion. However, I enjoyed my raspberry lemon bread and ham&cheese brioche quite a lot. They seem to have a good quality espresso, which was indeed a pleasant surprise. The interior is really cute, but pretty polished. It's giving...corporate? I am aware they have multiple locations in greater Seattle area, but I literally had to google if they're affiliated with Starbucks (especially since they use similar names for their drink sizes).

Macrina Bakery & Cafe *June 3 & June 5, 2025 *7am- Tuesday & Thursday *4.5 Stars Seating/ Environment: *Street Parking *Inside Seating Only Food/Drink: *Americano *Cold Brew *Bialy Egg Sandwich *Orange Chocolate Coffee Cake *Almond Pinwheel *Plain Bagel with Butter & Jam On our first day at Macrina Bakery & Cafe, we tried the Bialy bagel sandwich with egg, onion, and sun-dried tomatoes, which was really great--the flavors all worked well together and it was pretty filling. We also got a chocolate chip bagel, which was good but felt a bit dry/dense and could've used more chocolate chips. The americano and cold brew were also both pretty good. Because it was so close to our VRBO and we liked it overall, we went back two days later and tried a plain sourdough bagel with butter and jam, almond pinwheel, and got the Bialy sandwich again. Both were tasty, but overall we wished there were muffins without coconut or walnuts. Additionally, I really appreciated how they clearly showed and explained the coffee sizes, which made ordering easier and helped set expectations. Overall, it's a solid spot for a casual breakfast or coffee.

This was my go-to bakery and breakfast spot steps from my Airbnb during my vacation. My son said his sausage biscuit was the best one he ever had. I enjoyed several of their pastries on different mornings. Indoor/outdoor seating, Wi-Fi, a restroom code, Seattle prices. Cozy setting. Friendly staff with quick service. Order, and they will call you for your beverage and bring your breakfast sandwich to your table. I highly recommend this venue.

I really like this bakery! During my 3-day trip to Seattle I visited its downtown branch twice. Tried their plain bagel, demi baguette, Verdura (veggie) quiche and Chicken Pot Pie. All of them tasted good; I especially liked their bagel and quiche. The bagel seemed to be made from sourdough. It had a beautiful golden crispy crust, and the inside was chewy and a little sour. The quiche was a huge slice with super silky, creamy and delicious filling. The baguette tasted not bad, but I hope it could be larger -- why not just make it as large as those sold in local grocery stores? Speaking of this, you can find some of their bread in many grocery stores nearby, such as Whole Foods, QCF, etc. So you can also buy their bread conveniently at these places. But if you are looking for more interesting stuff go to their stores!

We spent a week in Seattle and this bakery was a block away. Every morning I went and got a grande latte and picked up some breakfast for my boyfriend. The coffee was delicious and I craved it every morning. I even bought some to take home for myself, sis and parents. I ate the quiche one morning. It was good but quite small for the price. My honey got the brioche sandwich a couple of times and he liked everything but the cheese on it. We couldn't figure out what the cheese was but had a cinnamon taste to it. They also have sparkling water for free on tap which I loved. We returned home and I missed my daily coffee but definitely will visit again when/if we return.

Macrina Bakery is a favorite for a reason! I ordered two of their apple pies and it was so delicious. The crust baked to perfection, apples were not too sweet and topped off with some powdered sugar. Yum! The workers were all so helpful, especially because I was taking my time to order... Though I will say, the minor attitude over my indecisiveness wasn't too appreciated. Located in Belltown, and on a Friday was for sure busy. Not really the location to sit because of all the hustle and bustle.

    Late lunch!

I came in for a late lunch and to get some desserts for later that night. I got an apple tart and a chocolate walnut tart and they knocked the socks off my partner we shared both. You cannot miss here I mean it's Macrina. Enough said! I ordered a half Verdura sandwich and was sorry I didn't order the whole one. This sandwich was amazing. Served on toasted Macrina bread with roasted veggies, shaved brussell sprouts, julienned beets, sliced yellow squash, yellow chile pepper and melty mozzarella. The chile gave the sandwich a bit of an edge. I was hooked. I went back the next day and ordered the whole one! Nom. I also got a pumpkin bar which was like a tiny slice of spicy pumpkin heaven. Staff are super friendly and it's super casual. Love coming here anytime I'm in the area.

    Bagel sandwich, bialy sandwich

This is a cute little bakery in Belltown with decent seating. We got a bagel sandwich and that bialy sandwich. The bialy, while tasty, was a lot more buttery than most bialys I've had. The sandwich fillings were yummy. The bagel sandwich was actually supposed to be on the Cornetto; when we asked to change it to a bagel, they said they'd have to charge for a whole bagel in addition to the sandwich price. Meh, ok, then give us that Cornetto on the side. The bagel was disappointing; no good chew. If they do boil their bagels, I'd be surprised. It's a cute spot with friendly service. But it's not a standout.

I've been here and gotten their pastries to go but this was my first time ordering food and eating it here. They were very busy but the workers here were nice. I sat outside with my dog and was able to enjoy my latte with a few different food options. I decided to try one of their breakfast sandwiches: avocado, tomato and egg on a croissant. I enjoyed this sandwich a lot and it had a lot of good flavor. I also ordered their ham & cheese brioche along with an almond croissant. Both of these were also good. Overall I had a good experience here and will continue to come back. This is also a cute bakery that I'd suggest to tourists and locals.

Delicious!! Cozy spot offers, fresh bread, sandwiches, salads, fresh drinks, gifts take home, breakfast goodies, and a ray of tea and lunch quiches and other yummy snacks. They have free Wi-Fi and a vibe about them. They offer indoor and outdoor seating and free water on tap, which is self-serve. Quick and friendly, and they bag up everything for you and make coffees on the spot

The coffee is very bitter for a latte. In Capitol Hill, lattes are smoother than here.

Instead, at the end of the block I found a long line that I had to enter. The food is still great, but some of the personal touch feels missing, it feels a lot more like you're visiting a corporate cafe than a neighborhood spot. I am not saying that the staff working the tables is bad at all, it is just not the same without the manager/owner chatting with you after she serves your coffee and seeing how everything is. Or when you hear them speaking amongst each other in French, making it easy to feel as if you're a continent away. I'll keep coming back, I just miss the old feel.

However, my second visit after the renovation felt different from the first one. I came for lunch, and the atmosphere had changed: there was no music, almost no people, and the space felt very quiet and empty. The old La Parisienne was smaller, cozier, and always had a lively French vibe with music and energy. For me, some of that atmosphere and soul feels lost after the expansion. It's always difficult to balance growth and modernization while keeping the original authenticity that made a place special.

After wandering in a Friday morning, we…read morefound the place pretty busy, with several people in line ordering pastries and others sitting outside sipping on drinks. Moonrise Bakery has a pretty good selection of croissants and other baked goods, which intrigued us enough that we ended up purchasing two: Kouign Amann ($5.95) - Overbaked and burnt on the surface, the exterior layer flakes off and tastes extremely acrid. The caramelized sugar layer is also baked hard resulting in a much firmer toffee-like texture rather than more sticky caramel. It's not too sweet and there's a bit of salt sprinkled in the center to bring out the flavor (although since it's overcooked, the flavor is on the more burnt side). The dough itself is layered pretty well and the interior texture is ideal, airy and chewy. Unfortunately the acridity on the exterior really dampened my enjoyment of the pastry. (3/5) Pain au Chocolat ($5.65) - This chocolate croissant is crisp and flaky with a rich buttery taste. It has pretty good lamination and honeycomb structure. Two classic chocolate batons added to the interior make this a solid croissant. I have no real complaints about this one; it's definitely a good eat. (5/5) I'd return to Moonrise to try some of their other baked goods. As a reminder to myself: don't order anything that looks too dark in color and/or looks burnt.
