But the blackened orange roughy with crawfish etoufee is very good. It's certainly not light. So, be forewarned. I had to really think if I should review this restaurant or not. It had a hard start and got worse due to a snobbish bartender named Colby. I don't live in Arlington and just recently moved from Dallas to Ft Worth. While looking at properties in Arlington for the day, this looked like a great stop. The reviews were mostly strong and the pictures I could see reminded me of my favorite Dallas steak fix, Bob's Chophouse on Lemmon. It doesn't have that vintage, chic atmosphere sadly, but it is old TX, steakhouse, 80's style. Colby asked if we wanted a menu and I said yes. He brought one for us both. I asked if they had any happy hour specials which is mentioned often in their reviews. He haughtily informed me that, "They don't do happy hour" and then giggled. Yes, giggled, the only other description is snickered. We ordered a Tito's Dirty Martini and Guinness and decided to stay anyway. He served my martini slushee and a good pour on the Guinness. He simply never came back. Everyone else had nuts and their orders taken. He avoided us as if we had the Bubonic plague. Mac's is a South Arlington staple. It's an upscale spot, but you don't have to dress up if you aren't feeling that. My favorite main dish is definitely the bone-in pork chops. Honestly, my wife and I don't typically go that route, though. We typically come in and look for a spot in the bar. The bartenders are great. We grab a couple drinks. Beer for me, martini for her. I have been wanting to try this place for a while, and I decided I wanted to try it out for my birthday, I made a reservation. Upon arrival The host sat us right next to the kitchen my view was the soda machine. Disappointed ,but we wanted to make the best out of it. We order the grilled sea scallops delicious, my husband order a Steak hamburger he said it wasn't nothing special and I ordered the Grilled salmon and it was undercooked had to send it back, waitress was very nice about it and took it back to get it cooked a little longer. It was delicious ,but it had returned with a hair manager was notified he came to the table and said "I heard there was a tiny hair in your plate" made me feel like I was over reacting small or big it's still a hair and it wasn't mine. My brother and SIL treated me to dinner while I was recuperating from a surgery. I haven't been in a while and it was so nice to see that things hadn't changed. I like the clean look with the light floor/ceilings, white table clothes on wood table and chairs with wood paneling throughout. The live plants thrive in front of the many windows around the front and side of the restaurant. There's always plenty of parking along the three sides of the building. Went here for Easter brunch today and it was amazing!!!! Our cousin had told us to try it out and we are so glad we listened. This might be the best brunch I've had in DFW. From the cinnamon rolls and fruit that they bring out to start to the delicious menu items, everything was so flavorful, hearty, and delicious! I'm so glad we have this location! It's just a great option for a meal at any time. Their menu selection is vast and has something for everybody. I visited this bar during Macklind Days with a few of my friends, and what I experienced was enough to make sure I never return. While we were there, a Black man walked in holding one of the cutest dogs I've ever seen. Harmless moment, right? But then someone -- who I'm assuming was a manager -- came up to him. No name tag, no uniform, just wearing a plain white T-shirt (which already looked unprofessional). The man simply asked, "Do you work here?" -- a completely reasonable question. The guy gave him the meanest look and said yeahh! just pointed at the door like he was being thrown out. Didn't explain, didn't apologize, just straight-up dismissed him with zero respect or empathy. Like... we all saw it. I literally gasped. I get that dogs might not be allowed, that's not the issue. It was the attitude. It was loud, rude, and unnecessary -- and from someone clearly representing the business. To make things worse, this same guy was being rude to the employees too. I don't know if he was drinking or just having a bad day, but either way... it's 2025. People deserve to be treated with basic respect. read more

This restaurant is a complete ripoff! The waitress ran our card for an additional $53.00 to pay for another customers meal without informing us of her mistake. We paid $72.00 for our meal and the erroneous $53.00 for another table's meal. We didn't discover this until a few hours later and contacted the manager who only offered an apology, although the waitress knew the mistake before we left the restaurant. Now we have to wait until Monday night to get our $53.00 back and today is Thursday! We will NEVER return. The food was mediocre at best. I've got to update this review from nearly a decade ago. Since COVID, these guys have been slipping just a little, but this last round was too much. The staff at this location need training. I waited 15 minutes for utensils at my table after being served fruit/cinnamon rolls ten minutes earlier, and had to ask one of the shift leaders for them. This is after I had to pin down one of the two hosts serving me to tell them I was ready to order because I had been waiting for someone for nearly twenty minutes. The utensils came AFTER all my food had been served. (I also told the shift leader that the couple at the table next to mine had no utensils and had been glancing around for service like I had.) We're talking about a restaurant nearly empty after 1:30 on a Sunday. Main meal was smaller than usual, tasted okayish, but the brunch portion consisted of cold hard rolls, and fruit that got mushy. Other staff couldn't have been bothered to assist or make eye contact. Then I waited TWENTY FIVE MINUTES to get my check! I had to ask another host for it, theeen it finally came over... ten minutes later. Who does that? I spent over an hour and a half getting served at a place that normally has turnaround within two minutes of arrival. There wasn't any huge parties, it wasn't Mother's Day. What are you guys doing?! Mac's has removed the brunch boat since COVID, diminished its waitstaff, and started hiring fresher and fresher hosts for its Arlington location. While this seems petty, we're talking about an upscale steakhouse that's entry level weekend brunch steak plate starts at thirty two. Staff need to be punctual, more attentive, and serve their areas more frequently than what they've been doing these last visits. Listening to the guests instead of speaking over them would also be appreciated. Seasoned staff need to be training newer individuals so these oversights don't occur. And please don't stick individual parties next to noisy, crowded tables when there's other, quieter areas to sit in. The salad is punchy and bright, with a house dressing and tons of blue cheese. It's just a classic and I enjoy it every time. Their bread and butter is great when it is fresh and hot, sometimes it is just ok though. If you want a more indulgent meal, they have one of the best chicken fried steaks ever. It is always hot, flavorful and comes with the best gravy. Their fries are wonderful, too. There are regular specials and the blackened red snapper is amazing.
