My reward for doing so is a no return policy on a pair of boots bought before Christmas. The receipt was there but they have a no exchange, no return policy after 30 days. Even if those 30 days involved a Christmas gift that say under the tree awaiting a teenage girl whose feet were still growing. We just wanted a larger size and were told it violated store policy. So here is another place that has lost my business and forced me to make the trek to the big city where the policy is "we want your business and the customer is frequently right." Especially the ones carrying a store receipt.

Anyway, First, we walk in and are half-yelled at to put our bags by the door as if we're gonna steal something. Later, I saw two other girls walk in and they didn't tell them to put their bags down. It was like they had something against us. I'd been there only once before. Then there was some chalk and other drawings on the wall so we drew a line and got yelled at. We could've just been asked nicely and we would've stopped. It was just plain rude. It was like they had something against us because of our age. The woman was being perfectly nice to other college age customers. It made me just plain angry. I never want to go there again.

However, one inside the store, there is an overbearing, off-putting smell of patchouli. As a college student, I thought the store items were overpriced for the relatively low quality, and the clothing was not size inclusive (too many junior-sized items). The owner's unprofessional behavior is also a reason why I do not enjoy this store. I've known people who worked here, and they described what was a hostile work environment where they were subjected to verbal abuse, and I witnessed this firsthand. On one occasion, I was in line at the counter with an item in my hand, ready to make a purchase (earrings I believe?), but after hearing how rudely she spoke to an employee in front of me, I decided not to buy them. If that's how she acted in front of customers, I can only imagine how she behaves in private. The owner has been in the news for her bigoted, transphobic views, which are on display in the storefront windows. In doing this, she has clearly made a connection between her political views and her store, so this is why I find it fair to comment on them in this review. I was not a fan of this store before, but this is yet another reason not to support this business.

I don't consider myself to be a big girl, size 6, but have never been so uncomfortable around someone who is supposed to be helping me. Backhanded compliments galore. Not a fan and will not be returning. The attitude was very pretentious and unwelcoming, the woman very clearly thought I did not belong because I was not a sorority sister type.
