Venue 3 stars: They operate two separate buildings at opposite ends of the mall. Men's clothing is in one and Women's clothing is in the other one. This makes shopping cumbersome and time consuming when I go there with my wife. We end up going to other Macy's locations because of this. Service 3 stars: Employee-dependent. Usually decent but not extraordinary. Selection 2.5 stars: This location of Macy's lacks the higher end brands that you can get at the Topanga mall or the Sherman Oaks Fashion Square. My daughter and I came into Macy's to shop for Christmas gifts, and it reminded me why this store has always meant so much to our family. Growing up in the Pittsburgh area, Macy's--along with Kaufman's and Gimbels--was a big part of our holiday shopping traditions. I love being able to walk through different departments, from fragrance to home goods, and take my time browsing. There's a warmth and familiarity to the store that feels comforting, especially during the holidays. I did notice that the in-store selection isn't as robust as it once was, and there's definitely more emphasis on ordering online. While that's convenient, it does take away some of the personal touch that made department store shopping so special. Despite that, I still love Macy's it has so much to offer and will continue to shop there. It's a classic for a reason, and I hope they keep that in-store magic going. read more

Macys sunglasses women section at the Northridge mall, we purchase 2 sunglasses and one meta sunglasses. We tried to return the meta sunglasses because my son already bought it but there was a worker named Daisy. She right away said that you need to bring the other ones two. Then we said we want to keep those 2 glasses and she said well I can't help you unless you bring the other ones. So we went all the way back home in Sylmar to grab the other two sunglasses to return just the meta sunglasses....The worker at sherman oaks Westfield mall said you only need to give them the receipt to return it.... But Daisy said you should go to Sherman oaks with sarcasm,and I said what did you say and she said you should go to Sherman oaks Macys. I got so mad I told her that we came all the way from Sylmar, and she said well it's not too far from Sylmar to Sherman oaks Macys. I got so stressed from her telling me what to do, my husband said let's go get all sunglasses that we got today and we return all of it back to Macys. My husband and I were so stressed and she keep telling me you making me nervous. I told her you telling us where to go and I don't appreciate that, I will go to whichever Macys I go. She was very unprofessional with us as customer if she has something else going on with her, also sad to say that no manager was there to help us which is also VERY unprofessional. We didn't expect this kind of treatment, very unkind. I had such a great experience at the perfume counter thanks to Lisa. She was incredibly helpful from the star. Extremely knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure I got exactly what I was looking for. What I really appreciated was that she wasn't pushy in a salesy way and instead, she focused on helping me get the best deal possible. Lisa wrapped everything beautifully, added a couple of lotions, and placed the perfume in a cute little box. Those details she absolutely didn't have to include but that made the whole experience feel extra special. After 20 years as a "excellent Macy's customer" (their words, not mine), Macy's shows their bad side... returned item resulted in a "merchandise credit" rather than a refund. The customer service operator is polite but keeps repeating that she doesn't have the power to actually return the money and all attempts to transer to the supervisor, who may be able to do something, isn't available to answer the phone. Basically, Macy's took the money, got the merchandise back, and won't return the money. Once they have your money they seem to think that they own it. read more

I placed an order for several items and had them shipped to the store because that was quicker per their website. 2 of the 5 items came a day late. 2 are there now 2 days late and the last item is due in a week or so. Not only that but the two items I picked up were in 2 different locations. 1 in the men's store and 1 in the main store. No one at either customer service desk could tell me why they split orders, other than they probably arrived at times and that's just how it is. WONDERFUL. It is amazing how badly associates dress and talk in front of customers. Like what they did last night or had planned was they most important thing to do.. 2 young men at the pickup desk in the men's store looked and talked more like they were going out for a hike than to work in a department store. What is even worse is that we could have purchased the identical item through Amazon, but I want to support retail stores. Well, take Macy's off of my list. read more

Look it. I just wanted to park, come in, walk through and get to my friends' pop-up at the other end. But as I walked through, I got all kinds of distracted with all the 50% off signs on jackets. I did a quick skim through and found ONE I really REALLY liked. Then I reminded myself why I was here to begin with, and with very limited time, I left and met up with my friends at their pop-up. Did my thing with them and found myself walking back through here again. And I told myself that if that same jacket is still available, I'm taking it home. And there it was. Right where I left it. Nothing bad to say. The sore is pretty quiet, and always usually empty. This one is very stocked and organized, but like I said, it's always empty so that's to be expected. I am so disappointed at Mac in Macys. I am beyond words. I made an appointment ahead of time to get my makeup done for an event. I showed up 30 minutes early thinking maybe they can get me earlier or even on time. I waited for more than an hour after my appointment and no one showed up. I had to walk around the mall to Sephora to see if they would take me last minute then walked downstairs to MAC and everything was booked up. I have 2 accounts at Macy's an AE one and a regular Gold Star Reward. I have had problems with that! They send me statements on one but not two. Twice I have paid one account it it went in the wrong account. Well today when I went to The Pay at The pay your Bill/ buy and return things, area, I got a lovely Lady named Jo. She spent time with us and made a call to Macy's billing, spoke to a Lady named Ro and straightened everything out. Both Ladies need to be commended. I received a Letter from Macy's Corporate that said they were doing away with the 2 card system. Jo cut up the. Card that soon would be extinct, and was going to shred it. Yesterday I needed to buy some outfits for my 11 year old grand child for her birthday. I was pleasantly surprised to have a young woman named Devindri approach me to offer assistance. She was very sweet and professional and clearly knew her merchandise and clientele. She was not pushy at all but was polite and eager to help me with my purchases. I was blown away by her willingness to help. She not only helped me select multiple tops and jeans in the right size but genuinely helped by asking about my grand she child to make sure the clothing was personalized for her age and interests. I found so many beautiful items and she then walked me to the cashier named Cindy who was also professional and kind. My purchases went very smoothly and was actually fun. The store was clean and beautifully set up and well organized. I thought I was in a different store. In the past, there were racks and racks jammed with clothing like I was in a budget basement. And nobody around to answer questions. Not this time and I'm excited about returning to buy more clothing! . It has NEVER been worn and still can't be. The manager at the Topanga location and the manager at the Tampa location were both rude and acted as if they didn't want to help me. I have never been a huge Macys fan. First off , they never have enough staff on the floor and they don't dress super nice anymore so you don't know who the staff is . They blend right in - when you can find one grrrr. I used to go to the Del Amo stores when i lived in that area, the 3rd floor designers was nice but the rest of the store is a wreck. Same with this store. 3rd floor was kids and maybe men , don't quote me i took a quick escalator round trip to check out the different floors .it seems like this store also had some really messy areas , but it did have a giant selection of formal dresses , so this is your go-to if your looking for wedding bridesmaids MOTB, Fancy Christmas, NYE or the current season Home Coming Dance . I think anyone can find a dress here . never saw a larger selection in a dept store . So it might be worth driving out to Northridge if you're looking for a formal dress. Not one person approached me in cosmetics and i walked through at least 4 high end areas with a blank no make up face and not one sales person approached me . at Nordstrom 3 sales associates would have been right on top of it to help me , but no less than 2 ! Growing up, Macy's was the epitome of a beautiful department store. Clothing, shoes and accessories were very neatly displayed where they were supposed to be; the value and quality was always high, and service was impeccable. This place reminds me of Ross or Marshall's, with everything spewed all over the place, falling off hangers, and general disarray. What happened to the pride? No sales people to be found, even at the registers, if you can even find one of those. I will continue to shop on line for the time being. First she helped me pick out very beautiful diamond earrings for my fiancé, then two amazing 1/2 ct bolo bracelet for my mother and my mother in law plus a couple other smaller pieces of jewelry for my nieces Roya is my favorite employee at Macy's fine jewelry section. A great place to go shopping for wedding registry or other stuff. I been to this Macy location for a while now. I never had a bad experience and the employee are helpful. My only complaint would be the pickup area being all the way in the back where the home goods are. I used their pickup service before on picking up my Affliction jackets and it was just a hassle to walk through the store to go to the back to pick it up. Also be prepare for the cologne and perfume people trying to sell their product. With covid, they do it less now but it depends on the person. I wore my mask inside the store and I believe all the employee wore theirs as well. read more

Customer service at the beauty and cosmetics area was horrible. Untrained staff who didn't know how to process a return nor care. Then when you try calling the store, they don't transfer you to the right person and hang up then they unplug the phones or something so that you can't call them again and the number stops working. Some people shouldn't be hired who are unqualified and don't care about helping and answer questions with attitude. We needed clothes for a very special wedding weekend, so our daughter-in-law, who is a damn good stylist, took us to Macy's Canoga Park. We got everything we needed for all three nights of the wedding. This was FANTASTIC! But what was even MORE FANTASTIC, is that Raphael took care of us. He was friendly and knowledgeable, and he went out of his way to make sure we got everything we needed. I went shopping at this Macy's yesterday. Overall it was a positive experience because they have new collections now and a lot of items in the women's department are on sale. Why am I giving them three stars? 1. Macy's should seriously think about putting some carts or shopping bags or sacks or ...there for people to be able to carry their items of choice around. It is hard to move around and browse racks and racks of clothing with a few items, that you are going to try on, hanging on your arms. It can get exhausting. 2. What is it with the fitting rooms? Only one open in the entire store with a long line of customers? Does that really decrease the risk of getting COVID-19? I don't think so! Too much traffic all in the same fitting room actually increases the risk. 3. Macy's is not senior friendly. There are no chairs around for seniors to rest for a couple of minutes before they can move on. Once you enter, you are doomed to walk until you drop! At last, we managed to get in the fitting room and my senior companion could finally sit. read more

Not the most friendly customer service people in the Returns department. I attempted to return a coat that I had purchased online that was labeled XS, yet it was massive on my body. There is a 30 day return policy, and apparently, I went over. They refused a return and no credit was attempted because the customer service worker said they don't carry this coat anymore. I'm stuck with a pricey new with tags Ann Taylor coat that I will never wear. I never have returned anything at Macy's before, yet I remember it used to be a 90 day return. Haven't shopped there in decades, except online, so that's my fault for not being familiar with this. I understand that I didn't return in time, but what rubbed me the wrong way was the annoyed tone and unfriendly face of the worker in the Return Department. There was nobody in behind me, but he was reacting like he was judging me or like I was attempting a scam, lol. The coat is XS, yet huge on me and and is still brand new with tags. I can't use it at all. He said he couldn't do anything to help me, not even give me credit, since Macy's doesn't carry this coat anymore. I just looked it up and found this exact same coat in the same color online. I don't understand why he said that they don't carry it. He could clearly see they carry it when he initially scanned it. I am so confused & disappointed. Just an fyi, there was another customer service rep standing next to the guy who helped me. She was helping nobody as there were no customers, but she never even made eye contact with me when I walked up to the front of the line. She blankly looked right through me and back at her screen. There was no interest to help me. I used to be a secret shopper. They are so lucky that I wasn't doing a secret shop review. In addition, he went above and beyond to fix my sisters makeup (originally done by another make up artist at the same store with a horrible attitude).
