So I guess this place moved. Last time I had been was for a Harry Potter Trivia Night and it was such a weird place. It wasn't big enough to accommodate the crowds and was really rickety. Really glad they opened this new location. It's neat! Lots of space and comfy seating, free popcorn, a 5$ menu with Mac and cheese, everything a Justine needs to feel at home in a pub ( I don't drink so there's gotta be something else they offer). Our second Cards Against Tournament UYE was hosted here and it was great! We had two booths reserved and it was in a circular arrangement so it was perfect to play and eat. Ordered the Mac and cheese before people started arriving and it was standard. It came with a piece of toast which I found puzzling. Wish the popcorn came with small bowls instead of paper bags to carry back to your table. Our waitress had a bit of trouble with our large group because her computer was mixing up the receipts. So that part was a bit messy, but not at all her fault. But other than that, the event was a hit and I loved the venue!

Best bar in Montreal! Steve and Jay were super nice and so professional with managing the line, they seated people as soon as they could. Once we were inside our waitress Yanna took our drink orders and made some great recommendations, their mixed pitchers were delicious, especially the Peach Julep! It was super busy but Yanna managed to check up on us regularly and made sure we got everything we ordered, she's the sweetest!!!!

First night in on the 2nd stop on the Montreal bar hop, first drink in, Cheval Blanc.

Didn't try of their food, but I did notice they had a $5 menu. Had a couple of beers at the bar while listening to no scrubs from TLC in the back ground ( I still have the hook in my head "A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me Hangin' out the passenger side of his best friend's ride Trying to holla at me) Overal a chill atmosphere and they also have a pool table at the back.

    Club with onion rings.

Came here with a group of friends and the staff was super friendly. Our waitress was obviously harried but she did well coming back repeatedly to make sure we were taken care of and that matters to me. I also appreciated they reserved a huge section for our large group. Drinks were good albeit we had an incident with one pitcher of sangria which was off but they replaced it without hesitation. I ate a club sandwich and onion rings. The rings were amazing, perfectly done. The club sandwich was the standard fare. I recommend using better chicken for it, if you're open for advice and perhaps different mayo. I'd love if you'd cater to different types of mayo as well. But all in all, a decent meal with a good price. Music is a bit loud in the area we were in and not really necessary so I'll dock a point for that. All in all, I'd totally be back.

$5 lime chili wings with fries. The fries tasted a little like Cajun fries. Both were delicious!

Found this little place when we were looking for a place for happy hour. It's right on Crescent street and just below ground level. Very casual bar style decor with pool tables in the back and lots of bar seating. Although there was no happy hour per say they do have a $5 food menu and 4 shots for $10 (!!!!) which the lovely bartender allowed us to change into 2 double mixed drinks. We had the wings which came with fries for $5 and two double gin and sodas for $20. Could not be more satisfied with our food, drinks and service. This will definitely be a joint I will revisit each time I'm back in Montreal. Oh and did I mention they have $3 cereal bowls after 10:30pm? Love love love.

The more I explore Rue Crescent, the more I am disappointed to feel that a lot of the bars have the same vibe. Mad Hatter reminded me a lot of Warehouse bar (which I already wrote a review for). Both are fun bars, with plenty of people, music, drinks, and pretty cheap food. Mad Hatter did not strike me as a particularly exciting bar, however, what did make it stand out was the pool tables and the fact that they cell cereal starting late at night (which is a great call, cereal is the best-drunk snack). Definitely hit this place up if you're looking for a classic bar to hang with friends, but not if you're looking for a poppin' food and drink selection and a quirky vibe. Mad Hatter is not a must.

Bouncers are so clutch. Shots on the house after an interesting situation and fun atmosphere. Would definitely go back!

Ordered the Cider, Mac and Cheese, Onion Rings, and Smoked Brisket Sandwich, which came with a generous serving of delicious French Fries. Drinks were delicious, food came out freshly made. The Onion Rings were crispy and well-fried, the Mac and Cheese was an utterly heavenly goo of Macaroni and Gruyère and other Cheeses - totally heavenly! The Brisket Sandwich and Fries were on point as well - great burger bun with generous portions of 24-hr smoked Brisket and Cheese! Fries were not greasy and utterly tasty. A wonderful meal following a long walk through Centerville and Old Town, we were set back CAD 58 for the meal and $20 for the drinks, including the heavy federal and state taxes and generous tips. A place worth visiting each time!

We stayed…read moreat Le Mount Stephen Hotel without doing much research on dining options, assuming we'd just find something nearby. But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. Yes, dinner was a bit steep ($300+), but it was worth every penny. Between the rich history, stunning design, outstanding service, and unique cuisine, I would highly recommend Bar George. I would absolutely love to come back!!

Review for their Quartier Dix30 location, 2025…read more.. Horrible ending to our night, false accusations by their staff... My friends and I went to this pub as a portion of our celebrating one of their birthdays this evening. For context I and my friends are in our late 30s to early 40s, and we had beforehand gone to another establishment but the temperature was unbearable as they did not have air conditioning so we sought out an alternative and chose Mckibbin's. Funnily enough, Mckibbin's didn't have AC either but we ended up staying for a few drinks regardless, mostly to appreciate the live music which was quite good. The waitress was good as well, quick and friendly, we had a minor snafu with a couple of the drinks which were not to our liking but the bar graceously replaced them which is yet another solid point in their favor. Why, you might ask in that case, would I be rating this establishment one star then? Well it all comes down to how we ultimately exited the establishment. We all paid our tab at the table, and finished up the rest of our drinks, still enjoying the music playing. It was a great band by the way, I just have to say. We all ended up leaving after 10-15 minutes and all seemed well, except it was only once we're outside that I found out that apparently one of our group who had gone to the bathroom had been victim of a rather apauling scenario. He had been in the stall for 10 or so minutes (he was doing what he had to do .. sometimes nature calls), and was interrupted by a knock on his stall only to hear the bouncer tell him he had to pay and get out of the bar immediately. The bouncer aparrently had heard him "sniffing" his nose in the stall, and found that to be appropriate reason enough to accuse him of doing cocaine in the stall, and to force him out of the bar. Of course it did not cross his mind to think that perhaps it had something to do with the bar being at approximately 29 degrees, perhaps my friend simply had a stuffy nose, or perhaps he had allergies, no he heard a few sniffles and that was all he needed to throw out allegations. Needless to say, I'm completely and utterly disgusted having learned this. Ultimately we left and let things be, we weren't about to bust back in there and cause disruption for no reason we were already on our way out anyway, but to think that this man, employed by this establishment, could be so outlandishly shortsighted is a true injustice. Suffice to say, my friend has never done cocaine in his life, we quite literally made jokes about this man's accusations the whole ride home. Still, I will never go back to this place, because I shudder to think of myself in his situation and what I might do, how it would make me feel to be on the bad end of this kind of person's shortsighted and unfounded accusations. That said, I urge anyone and everyone to beware of the types of people this establishment has working under its payroll. Most of their staff (everyone else in-fact) were excellent, but unfortunately it only takes one completely rotten apple to ruin the bunch.

Horrible service. They didn't let 3 of my peers with REAL ID in the club. And when my friend…read moreconfronted them, the next time she came in they told her she was "the bitch with the attitude". Tremendously rude bouncers. Don't recommend.
