Definitely the best pizza I've had on Oahu! Fast service with a smile. I love the décor, it feels like you're on the East Coast with all the trophies and artsy touches. They do pick up orders from what I could tell. The tables inside were super roomy and the chairs were comfy. Everything was clean. The food was great. I got a slice of Fungo, a slice of Margherita, and a Italian salad. All were just fantastic. The crust was crispy and delicious. My fave was the Fungo-the mushroom cheese of my dreams. We popped in around 7pm on a Saturday night. There weren't too many single slice options left at that time as they close at 8pm. The cashier was very friendly and accommodating. We ordered a whole "fungo" pizza and a Caesar salad. It came out in a timely manner and it's a good sized pizza, I believe it was 8 slices. Fungo pizza was delicious, nice blend of cheeses, mushrooms had a nice taste. Pizza was thin, not super crispy, not a flop either, perfect! I think there's about 4-5 tables and a bar top to dine in. The crust is a four-day sourdough that gets crispy and is TO.DIE.FOR--thin like you'd expect from a NY-style, yet sturdy enough to hold all the toppings, and foldable if that's your jam. The desserts looked great, but we were stuffed so we went with a chocolate chip cannoli. A winner! We went right when they opened and our largish group could easily find seats. Watched the owner be rude to a local was asking something about a restroom and then his staff told me 25 minutes for a pizza and he cut her off and told me to be 45 minutes no apology and super entitled. cancelled my order and left. It's not rocket science and it should not take that long with extremely basic pizzas. It's cool that the pieces are large, but I don't think I washes his forearms because puts his whole arm into it. Mad Pie is a great new addition to the Kaka'ako foodie scene. It's located across the brick walkway from Down to Earth, where Hibachi Honolulu used to be. I really like this place! The staff are friendly and energetic, the decor is basic, but about what you'd expect for a walk-up pizza counter, and the pizza is excellent. Oh, and be sure to get a cannoli. You can get a slice for $5-$6, or order a whole pie for around $30. The pizzas are large, with thin, hand tossed crust. They have several tables inside, as well as counter seating. I stepped up to the register, ordered a slice of buffalo chicken pizza, and took a seat at the counter. They took a slice from the display case and put it in the oven alongside the whole pies. After several minutes they pulled it out and topped it with fresh chives and their delicious, garlicky buttermilk ranch. It was wonderful. I contemplated ordering another slice, but instead opted for a cannoli. It was so good! The pastry was flaky and the cream was surprisingly light. Stopped by on a Sunday around 12pm and thankfully it wasn't crowded. They have counter seating and a couple of tables inside but also a bunch of tables available outside with umbrellas. They had about 5-6 different types of pizzas available at this time. Cashier and staff were friendly and the cashier explained the menu and options before I ordered. Decided on a slice of the buffalo chicken ranch and slice of Margherita with the ranch flight (buttermilk, kimchi, and jalapeño). Total was $18.33 and card or tap only. No cash. Pizza was delicious and you can tell that the ingredients are fresh. I prefer the buffalo chicken pizza of the two. Jalapeño ranch definitely has a spicy bite to it but not over powering. Kimchi ranch was okay but the buttermilk was my fav! I will say the pizza slice sizes were noticeably different but I wasn't expecting it to be perfect. Being from Brooklyn, I'm always on the lookout for "NY Style Pizza." Unfortunately, these guys are not. First of all, we don't have sourdough cross back home. While the crust may be thin, they not necessarily make it New York style pizza. Second of all, the plain slice was bland. The sauce, just not very flavorful. I also tried the mushroom white Slice as well. Again, not a lot of flavor while apparently many people do like their pizza, please stop saying it's New York style because it's not.
