Came here spontaneously after visiting the castle. We were seated immediately. The restaurant is cute and cozy. It was pretty full for such a tiny location. Loved the ambiance. The server seemed to be the main and only person working the front and though he was being pulled left and right, he was very attentive. This is where I had my very first port and legitimately just asked him to choose them for me. I had 3 total and they were all amazing. My favorite was the MFTA Tabua port wine. This was also where we learned that "imperial", "tulipa" and "caneca" refer to the size of the beer, not a type of beer. This was our first time in Portugal, don't come for us. We also had a cheeseboard with bread which was delicious. The main guy speaks so many languages, we heard him speak Portuguese, Italian, English, and French (what I ended up speaking with him when he accidentally spoke French with us and I responded since I am also fluent). That is quite the polyglot, admirable. Love this spot and can't wait to return! read more
