UPDATED 2/2/24: We came back today and while the food was great, the service was not. We ordered all our food and then asked for a few items "to go" so they would be packed and ready when we were about to leave. We never got any of the "to go" food. They started removing plates and cups before we were even done. We were 5 people and seated at a larger table by the hostess. It seemed like they were hurrying us up to use the table. The restaurant got really busy but once we got our food we never saw our waitress again. Super disappointed in the service today and never did get out to go food. ORIGINAL: Wow, not sure why this place doesn't have more reviews and stars. We came here after searching for Colombian food and decided to give it a shot. We were not disappointed at all. The restaurant is in a strip mall area off I-10 so at first we were nervous but you walk into this large restaurant with maybe 10-15 tables and you're immediately greeted by happy and friendly waitresses. It's open seating so you can sit in the main dining area or in the breakfast area. They even have some nice comfy chairs to sit and get a baked good and cup of coffee. The music is good and not too loud so you can still hear your friends/family and the waitress but not so quiet that you can also hear the table next to you. The food was amazing. We got an assortment and had so much leftovers. The bandeja paisa covered all the bases we wanted and then we added a few other items. We also got sancocho de res to go which will be dinner with the leftovers. This place is definitely a must if you're in the area (or not) and looking for authentic Colombian food. read more

Gave this place two tries before writing a review. First visit was phenomenal, food was fresh , delicious and seemed to be made to order . The tostones were super crispy and so was the chicharrón. The rice was steaming hot and the beans had great flavor and the service was excellent. UNFORTUNATELY in our second visit we didn't have the same experience. Came in for dinner and on top of running out of many things the food was HORRIBLE . The food seemed reheated. I could understand the rice, the beans and the soup being reheated as it could have been made in the morning but the cold chicharron? The dried and soggy tostones? All of it was bad! Even the service!!! So embarrassing as we had not only driven 1 hour to get here but we brought friends with us because of our first experience. I've been in all the restaurants of the twins and it looks that at the beginning all of them are good then the quality of service and food decay and the prices went ridiculously higher, but this one in Katy is the icing of the cake, we ordered the bandeja paisa and everything was wrong, as a paisa myself i can tell, and the environment (ambiance) is not at all as their slogan, "travel to Colombia without leaving Texas" is more like a Mexican cantina, plenty of rancheras and corridos and loud for a restaurant. Arrived early with my group to get a good table, they sat us on the last corner table. the place was almost empty at that time, we tried to change it and the rude main hostess said it is what it is, that people reserved earlier, bla, bla, bla. they finally moved us when the person that did the reservation came over and sort of knew the people there. our reservation was one of the earlier ones. the food for the venue came cold and was not that good. the ambience and the music was very good, liquor pricing is very exaggerated. about 5 to 6 times the price of the liquor store and they run out of coke for the mixers. the waitresses were nice. read more

The experience was a mix. Good bakery. Criollas potatoes not fresh, maybe because was late at night. We took tamales and warmed at home. These tamales were sour, not fresh at all, even we asked for fresh tamales. Not intend to buy anymore tamales. Sweet "arepa" with cheese, there were two types of cheese, one little piece tasted good and the other one covering the whole arepa did not taste good. Stumbles across this hidden gem one day and ordered their empanadas to go. I went back today for a sit down meal and the food was amazing. The service was also really good as well. We tried the bandejas medellin which had a variety of meats as well as rice, beans, a plantain, and arepa. I definitely recommend this if you want to try a little bit of everything. We went on a friday during happy hour and tried a couple cocktails. Both were delicious. The decorations were really cute. If I want a good burger this is the place I come to. I love the choriburger. My family and I love this place. I always get the same burger cause it's that good, but I've had bites of family members plates and everything is delicious. We've not only dined in but also ordered to go. Service is quick, waitresses will give recommendations if you need help deciding on anything. It can get busy but I've never had trouble getting a table. read more

I haven't had Columbian food in years. My last one was back in Tampa, FL (2016) and it wasn't a pleasant experience. So naturally I was hesitant to try this place. But I love food and I always give second and third chances to try out and I was beyond impressed . Their mojarra Fritas are to die for. Not only it was Fresh, the seasoning and the crispiness was just fabulouso and deliciouso. Also their spicy sauce thingy is like the cherry on top. I drank that bowl empty lol. My family who is from Middle East who also loves fish, loved this dish. This Mojarra fritas dish definitely brought some nostalgic memories back from my hometown in Middle East. We used to eat a lot of Fish Broast (aka deep fried fish) and this was just mind blowing. Also the waiter who helped us choose the dishes was such a sweet heart. He was very attentive and welcoming to my parents. He definitely took care of us while we were dining which made us even more excited to try their food. He also gave us some complimentary desserts a well!! We absolutely loved their hospitality and I will definitely come here again when I'm back in Texas. Yes, yes and Y E S!!!! Finally an authentic Colombian restaurant!!! The food is tasty, the frijoles "Cargamanto" are soooo yummy, the blood sausage "morcilla" is right on point! So happy to have found this gem in Houston. Oh the empanadas are almost as good as the empanadas my mom makes. The service is great and friendly. We enjoy visiting the restaurant, having yummy Colombian cuisine and seeing Heidy! Lots of great dishes to have and flavors to enjoy. Every time I'm in town, I stop by. Their food is amazing and doesn't compare to other Colombian restaurants. Their plates are reasonably priced and the quality is always fresh. The ambiance is nice and entertaining. The service is a hit or miss. Out of the four times, I've been here, today was the only day I experienced an attentive server. I placed an order for the largest paisa tray they offer, they delivered all the small portions, 1/4 of avocado that they add damaged, half of the tray was rice, the salted beans.
