We booked Madera for a friends birthday party. We wanted something with a good vibe and good for sharing and Madera fit the requirements. I was the first to arrive and we greeted immediately upon walking I. The front doors and escorted to the lift and sent upstairs to Madera. I was greeted once off the lift and offered to wait at the bar while they finished preparing the table. I tend to arrive early and I was early. I ordered a drink from their nice selection of tequila and before my drink was ready the table was ready. They sat me at the table and brought my drink to me. We had a table along the window and were able to watch sunset while we celebrated my friend. I feel like we ordered most of the menu to share amongst the table. Our server was fantastic. Very knowledgeable about the menu and offered some great suggestions for the table. I'm pretty sure we ordered almost the entire menu. Food quality was fantastic. The vibe, service, and food quality really made for a wonderful celebration. Make a reservation and add this to your itinerary if visiting London and if you are a local give it a try. read more

Really nice Mexican spot in the treehouse hotel... guess it was redesigned so it's smaller and feels more intimate. Nice. Had the grilled octopus which was excellent. Ceviche was meh but the chips / salsa / guacamole were excellent. Had some weird "rocks" entrees where they bring your meal on a hot rock... everyone who got one (both the shrimp and the chicken) was disappointed and also seemed hard to eat. Good sides for the pulpo... potatoes and street corn. Service was a bit random... odd timings and couldn't figure out how to out things down on the table / which plates to clear, etc. strange. read more

Had a fantastic lunch at Madera this past Friday. Ambiance is beautiful...can't say enough about this. Service is friendly and so accommodating. There were two errors with our food but they quickly corrected them and apologized. Food is delicious...it's so difficult to find decent Mexican food in the UK but in my non-expert opinion Madera's food was pretty close. There is something for everyone here too. Prices are reasonable. We'll definitely return! read more

The ambiance of this place is amazing! It really takes you to tulum. Must order dishes: Street corn and salmon. We started with the guacamole, and the calamari. The calamari was huge and the sauce was delish. The margaritas are 10/10. Chicken tacos were good, rice & beans came as a side for the hot stone steak. The steak was cooked nicely on the hot stone. The best dish was the salmon and street corn ! Incredible and would order this with the crispy kale every single time. As you've probably already heard, the view is party darn amazing. That's assuming you actually get seated at a table near a window, which depending on the time of day you're dining, may or may not be covered by a shade to protect you from the sunlight. However, you are also dining underneath a ceiling of fake foliage which makes you feel like you're in an actual tree house, regardless of where you sit. The more people in your party, the more likely you are to get a good seat. If you're staying at the actual hotel, you have a better chance of snagging something worthwhile at a time of your choosing. Being part Mexican and having grown up in California, I can tell you that the food here isn't exactly the most authentic you'll find. For London, it's not a bad try; but the way they're putting everything together very much feels like they took a handful of good-quality ingredients and followed a recipe book on Mexican cooking. My two overpriced tacos were seriously lacking in flavor and and spice, and were overloaded with an unnecessary amount of dried cheese and mixed with mushy beans. Not how they do it in California or Mexico. The cocktails are decent and the menu offers an almost cheesy attempt at only providing only Mexican-themed drinks like margaritas and agave-based mixes. Thankfully, they can also make most of the classics and have sizeable wine selection, so ask away if the signatures don't sound very enticing. The desserts are probably the show-stealers, and while you will find your typical churros with a side of cinnamon ice cream and a weird dollop of diced pineapple and chocolate sauce thrown in for good meausre, you can also get your fill of strawberry cheesecake and a small selection of sorbets. Overall, not a bad experience, but also not the most unforgettable ethnic cuisine you can have in this city. The view is worth it after sundown, though. Just make sure to book in advance. read more

This is an average resto in a sweet location. The service (as mentioned before) was fine but slow. Our reservation notes about attending for an occasion were never read/ignored. I recommend stopping in for a drink at the bar, a photo and moving onward. Our neighborhood is far too deep to waste time. read more

I recommend this place but cannot give it a 5 star review because of how slow the service is here and the place is not that big. First of all the place sits high above London on the 15th floor of the top of the Treehouse Hotel (keep in mind one side of it is under construction so make sure your not seated on the scaffolding side. The view from this place is awesome and you can see sunsets and tops of buildings and the London skyline for miles. The inside of the place is exactly like a treehouse, walls are tree bark and tree leaves hang from the ceiling and even the bar and chairs are wood. The inside of the place is pretty cozy and the bar takes up the whole room almost. The menu here is total Mexican with some creative dishes, lots of cool cocktails and Margaritas and of course wine and beer. The food is ok, not bad, salads, chips and salsa and some fajita dishes and bowls. The Margaritas were outstanding and really tasty. The service here is the issue. The waitstaff, bartenders and kitchen staff are slow to do anything and I am sorry but this place is not big enough to have 30 minute waits for drinks and food and 45 minutes for dessert. We even had to cancel our dessert because the kitchen staff forgot about it. Sorry but that's unacceptable. The prices here are steep as it is, but to have incompetent slow staff is a waste of any patrons time and I would have a hard time recommending this place due to this. Sadly, this is a three star restaurant at best due to both food and service. read more

Began with one waiter, then he left for other tables and had someone new, who was very tentative, frequently absent, just very confused. Given that this is a sister restaurant to an L.A. Restaurant, I expected more authentic, flavorful food, but it was overall very bland, from the chips and guacamole to the churros. We came here for our wedding reception, and had SUCH a fantastic time. The food is the best Mexican in London in our opinion... and the service was awesome. The team really took care of us and were so helpful in every regard. We were also staying at the hotel so cam back for breakfast the next morning, which was equally delicious. We came in from LA and wanted to eat at the beautiful Madera. We didn't realize we needed reservations, but the manager Vanessa was very accommodating and made us a private table near the chef's area and it was perfect. The bartender Zakaria the bartered made us phenomenal drinks and even gave us a few to try on the house. The food was exceptional and very fresh. It has a really cool atmosphere being in a "tree house" and on the 15th floor. However, the food was below average. The chips where hard and the entrees themselves where nothing to exciting. Madera was unfortunately underwhelming on the food front. Great view and fantastic ambiance however the meal was lackluster. We went for brunch and both meals lacked flavor. Coffees and drinks were good. If you come here I'd recommend to just stick to drinks and skip the meal. read more
