Factory Outlet North Finchley is nothing like that. There are some good deals to be had, even a rack starting at just 5 pounds. I'll admit the clothes in this shop are taste-full and beautiful. There is a particularly nice brown ruffle dress in a silky material for 22 pounds and some lovely knits that wrap around your body. The staff here is friendly enough and not up your arse, in a way that is common in a small store. I like to come in here and have a poke around. I will note this store only sells clothing so no handbags or shoes on offer.

This is a small shop as well, so I always feel a bit weary about overattentive salespeople. Last Christmas, I saw it. I saw it in Logo's window. It was a fantastic leopard trench coat, in satin. I needed it. I wanted it for Christmas. It was 80 pounds. I kept looking at it each time I came to Mill Hill. The trouble was when I finally had some money and it got really close to the holidays, I found out Logo didn't have my size. Only one size larger. Unable to reconcile myself to wearing a size that large I didn't buy it. I will look again this year. Walk in the door. I will never forget that coat.

The Salvage shop sells designer discounted clothing and home furnishings. I love to come here and browse the racks. You can find some great bits outside on a good day new for a pound (stuff from Top Shop!) Inside there is a great selection of women's clothing and a dressing room. Because of this the quality is hit and miss - some days you can buy bags full for £20, and other days find nothing you want. They tend to stock loads of smaller sizes (8-10) and be about half a season behind "regular" topshops (hence the discounts) I love this shop - I have had jeans, jackets and dresses from here for less than a fiver, and not knowing what you're going to find just adds to the fun! It's a very small shop though, so probably not worth making a special journey half way across London for!
