    Chicken biryani.

There used to be a halal restaurant/small convenience store on Broadway that sold amazing middle eastern food, but they closed down some time ago. I was impeccably happy to find Madina Halal Sweets & Restaurant while searching for local middle eastern food at great prices. Walking in on a Friday afternoon be sure to offer the Muslim greeting assalamualaikum (peace be with you). For its the holiest day of the week, and having a Masjed only a block away there is surely going to be customers waiting/eating a quick bite before rushing to complete their salat (prayers). If by chance you hold a grudge for Muslims, please do me a favor and don't visit this establishment. The restaurant is small, and dim, do not expect a perfect 5 star setting, the place is pretty close to appearing as a hole in the wall dive, but don't let that stop you from enjoying some of the most authentic middle eastern/Bangladeshi/Pakistani appetizers and entrees. You order your food from the cook just behind the counter and you can either pull up a stool to wait for take out, or have a quick bite, or you can have a seat at one of the dining tables in the back room. My husband and I ordered vegetable samosas, chicken samosas, chicken biryani, and tandoori chicken. Although we choose takeout the food does take a little while. Everything is cooked fresh to order, and it smells amazing! We wanted to tear right into the food, but we had some running around to do, so we impatiently put off consuming our meals until we reached back home in Niagara Falls NY. The samosas were absolutely delicious! The vegetable samosa was on the spicy side, generously filled with potatoes, onions, tomatoes with middle eastern spices and wrapped in a deep fried crisp almost egg rolls wrapper type of dough. The chicken was generously filled as well with chunks of sauteed chicken with aromatic vegetables and mouth watering middle eastern spices. The chicken biryani included two pieces of tender roast chicken over fluffy well seasoned basmati rice. A nice side salad of crisp iceberg lettuce and tomato was along side. The tandoori chicken was delectable! Two nicely seasoned, but not too spicy chicken leg quarters with a smokey flavor from the grill flame they were cooked over. The chicken was finished off with a sauce, similar to tzatiki sauce, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. It too had the side salad. We immensely enjoyed all of the food, and we even fought over the last of the biryani rice. I can't wait to go again, the food really is THAT GOOD!

Chicken patty and fried chicken- finger licking good.

GO FOR IT. THEY SELL REAL INDIAN FOOD. Don't judge it from outside and also interior. The most authentic Indian food you can expect in USA. Curry goat, Biryani, Tandoori chicken are highly recommended.

Another trip to the West Side Bizarre and another delicious meal consumed. This week it was M Asian…read moreHalal Foods that filled my stomach for dinner and they did a pretty darn good job at it. This was my first time having Pakistani since moving to Buffalo but knowing where this place was located was almost a guarantee that is was going to be fantastic. The menu features a lot of unique items that I absolutely need to try in the future (most notably the goat curry) but the chicken biryani is what drew me in on this day. The gentleman working the counter was friendly and and quick to deliver the food when It was done (nice and hot too!). The rice served with this dish would of been enough alone to satisfy me but the chicken that was underneath it gets 2 thumbs up! I can't put my finger on what exactly the flavouring was but it was absolutely delicious in every way. M Asian Halal Foods is another fantastic addition to the West Side Bizarre. If you are hungry and wanting to get something new, give these guys a shot, you will not be disappointed!

So they're talking about having a black guy play James Bond. Idris Elba, I believe, was the front…read morerunner. So my question is... When are they going to make M Asian? The owners of this little stand, apparently, were wondering the same thing. And considering that one of the other amazing places inside the West Side Bazaar is "007 Asian Food", I think they're trying to tell us something. What to get: Chicken Karahi, or Egg Curry. What not to get: garrotted by one of Q's gadgets. Absolutely spectacular Indian food hidden away in the wonderful West Side Bazaar. One of the newer stands this place specializes in the egg Curry and especially the car. Chicken Karahi is a Pakistani specialty which is absolutely delicious. These guys know how to make it. Every bite is absolutely wonderful. Prices under $10 in the portion will fill you up. It's nice and oily just the way I like it. Indian food is a little like Chinese and Mexican food in that (a) there are a massive number of varieties, many of which are nothing like each other, and (b) the majority of people in the US don't know or understand the cuisine whatsoever. What most Americans think is Indian, Chinese or Mexican food is absolutely not. It's probably bland, overly-sugary gentrified crap that was literally invented to sell to Americans, which the majority of people from the culture or country in question, would never go near. Such as the dish "Butter Chicken" which is about as authentic as a Taco Bell taco. And as bland, sugary, and spiceless, too. Yay Murica. What you need to do when you go for Indian or Pakistani food - if you've chosen well and picked a place that has some real Indian food, like this stand does - is to pick dishes that are actually authentic. In this case, the Egg Curry and the Chicken Karahi are both delicious, full of flavour and spice, and must-try dishes. The samosa is also excellent. If you haven't been to the West Side Bazaar, you haven't really experienced Buffalo Cuisine. We have some of the most delicious treats hidden around the region and this place is one of the very best. While you're in here, get a fruit smoothie (no milk, ask for real fruit) from Gourmet Lao, as well as the sticky rice from 007 and the Garlic Chicken soup from the Burmese place across from M Asian. Now I'm going to write to the Broccoli family (and the late Ian Fleming) and Daniel Craig (and Sean Connery) and ask when the hell they are going to make M Asian. Speaking of which, I'll take the rapists for 400. And I want Swords for 600. That's not what your mother said last night Trebek.
