There are two issues that prospective driving students should know about the in-car experience with Mr. Mark Davis, based on my grandson's experience. 1. Mr. Davis is a persistent "wheel-grabber", making continuous minor steering corrections while the student is at the wheel. While I can see this happening for the first and maybe the second lesson, it should not continue for the last two lessons unless there is a "clear and present danger" of a vehicle incident occurring. I fail to see how this practice contributes to developing driving confidence, and I would be concerned a student would develop a dependence on this type of intervention. Audio or spoken instructions would be much better so the student develops the proper and accurate feel for the vehicle under the student's control. If there is a documented, peer-reviewed study showing that wheel-grabbing by the instructor makes a better driver, I would like to know about it. 2. Mr. Davis should avoid making disparaging or condescending remarks about other cultures or ethnic groups and their driving, particularly when student drivers are teenagers. Having been a high school teacher for many years, he should know better. We already have enough problems with intolerance and prejudice in the current US political environment and this should not be passed on to future generations. read more

One of my greatest fears moving here was just how dark everything is compared to Los Angeles at night but knowing I can always count on MDA if I ever need to brush up on anything or tackle darker roads is a great blessing and one I am tremendously grateful for.
