Finally found a cute little place called M Salumeria on El Salvador and stopped there for a glass of red, some local jamon and a piece of creamy goat cheese. All good; the ham was tasty and a big serve, the chèvre too, so what started off as a snack actually turned into dinner. They were playing classics jazz songs on the sound system like Summertime and I'll be Seeing You (in all the old familiar places). Nice place and good service.

The restaurant is small and sports a modest front but the food is amazing. They have ramen, sushi, teppanyaki and bento box style lunches. Beer and wine are available. I had a mixed salad which was huge and a good mix of crisp, fresh vegetables. I also had the braised tofu which was perfectly done with a load of sautéed vegetables and a delicious brown sauce on it. The service was attentive and friendly, though knowing enough Spanish to communicate with the wait staff would be most advantageous. We were able to get by with our limited phrases. Overall, a fabulous lunch.

We went there fairly early (for BA!) at about 6pm and the place was already buzzing, especially with a wedding dinner going on. The bar has an interesting cocktail menu which will surely satisfy a wide range of tastes. We tend to stick to classic cocktails, both of which were great. We ordered some tapas plates. The food was presented well and tasted delicious. The service was fast and friendly without being obtrusive. As with most places of business in BA, the English speaking level of the staff was limited. But with our own limited Spanish we were able to get by just fine.
