Coming home to Brisbane and finding Lee's Korean BBQ was such a Christmas treat. The decor is clean and cosy, lending a nice touch reminiscent of a Korean Hof. The pork ribs, vegies and kimchi pancake were all delicious but the stand out dishes were the spicky silk tofu soup with seafood and the chicken in chilli sauce. Combine the great food, nice ambience, the friendly and efficient service along with a very reasonable bill of $70 (for 3 people totally stuffed including soft drinks)... this place wins my Best Korean BBQ in Brisbane award.

There was plenty of different meat to choose from and the side dishes were nice too. We gave the hot food buffet a miss - spring rolls, fried chicken and some sad looking chips. Service was a little scrappy (it was very busy and and perhaps the staff didn't always hear the call button) but we thought it was good value. They allow you to BYO ($3 charge per glass) and they give you a 10% discount for cash so it's a great wallet friendly option!

I pretty much ignored that fact, and decided to have ACYE Korean BBQ with a few friends in Sunnybank (yes, this is now back in Brisbane). Being rather out the way by bus/public transportation, I was quite glad to have friends with cars, so we made it without having to walk in the rain for a while. I must say, I was a bit surprised that the seating was pretty much all outside for this restaurant (thankfully under a shed). Apparently one of the cheap to moderately priced ACYE K-BBQ places in Brisbane (it was 27.5 pp for dinner), this place really doesn't have that big of a variety of meats. They pretty had one type of marinade for each meat, which was cut interestingly to what I was expecting. The meat was thicker than I expected - which, if you're trying to eat more, then it's a good things - but I think I prefer the thinner cuts. The marinade for the pork didn't quite hit the spot, and one of the marinades was a bit sweet for my taste, but I did find that the chicken was my favorite. They had a good variety of side dishes, including japchae (glass noodle 'salad'), as well as dumplings, soup, etc. Not the most impressive food-wise, but the lady was super nice - quite possibly because our token Korean spoke up. ;) Note: They play continuous K-POP on tv, pretty loudly - so it can get a bit annoying, but if you're into that, then this might be your place!

We got a basket of lettuce + about 4 thinly sliced either sweet potato or pumpkin, a piece of corn that's like even smaller than a quarter of a whole (no joke) and one mushroom. I questioned the waitress, asking if that was right, that these vegetables are supposed to feed four people & I pointed at the booger size of a corn and all she said was "you get the lettuce as well." But sometimes if you're lucky, and you're walking around Beenleigh Train Station, you might catch a wift of what I can only describe as stomach grumbling barbeque hungry. You might as well be at Sunny Seoul Barbeque. I'll tell you why. They do the best korean barbeque in Brisbane, hands down. Those fancy pants expensive ones in the CBD can't do this place justice. For starters, they are a humble crowd who say hello to you and look like they actually mean it. Always good. Secondly, the prices for a massive plate of most meat which will feed up to 4 people, is $75... that's all inclusive. What great value. Thirdly and lastly, they have yummy appetisers that are free (I know all Korean restaurants have them) but these appetisers are really yummy... especially their kimchi and honey'd anchovies. I love this place, and bonus - Korean's love it too! (This means it's pretty damn authentic)

Went here for the first time today after shopping at Sunnybank Hills Plaza. I ordered the pork…read morebelly with rice. The elderly man who took my order seemed very gentle and quiet. I liked him immediately as he reminds me of my grandfather. The food came out in a couple of mins. This is a fast food place after all ;) I enjoyed the meal. It had a lovely sweet and soy-like sauce, soft pork belly slices (no crackling here!) and green veggies. It was $8.90 and I'll definitely be back to try some other dishes when I can :)
